Buckeyecruiser76 Posted November 30, 2018 #26 Share Posted November 30, 2018 (edited) It will be interesting to see how many bids are accepted and at what cost. At the price the minimum bid started for a junior suite on Empress of the Seas on January, I would find it hard to believe that someone would bid any higher. ZoeyVictoria Posted November 30, 2018 #31 Share Posted November 30, 2018 I have received nothing. Four nights on Brilliance 1/31/19 and seven nights on Symphony 3/9/19. One is a casino comped cruise, I wonder how that affected the exclusion from the email.

MsYukon Posted November 30, 2018 #34 Share Posted November 30, 2018 Booked balcony guarantee (it was all that was available at the time of booking) and was "offered the opportunity to bid" on JS, OS, RS and Panoramic Ocean view. Only bid on the Suites. All Insides, Ocean Views and Balconies have been sold out on our sailing for months - only a limited number of suites available according to their website - all of which i was able I bid on. If I get one of my bids, fabulous. If I don't - I'll still be on the cruise in a ocean view balcony stateroom!

I check the box under my communications preferences... then a few days later it's unchecked again. Calling and having an agent set my preferences does the same thing. Sigh. Been this way for years. Have you gone into your blocked email senders file and made sure you haven't blocked them? I had the same problem and it turned out, I had somehow blocked several of the RCCL. Deleted all my blocked email addresses and voila - they started coming through.

bcalay Posted November 30, 2018 #37 Share Posted November 30, 2018 I received a Royalup on my Jan 3rd cruise on Indy. I'm in a Junior suite and had options to upgrade in all categories, however when looking on Royal's website the suites are sold out.

Rare brillohead Posted November 30, 2018 #39 Share Posted November 30, 2018 I never used to get the promo emails. After about 4-5 years, now I'm getting them. I'm not aware of doing anything differently, didn't sign up for anything or change any settings, just getting them now. That's RCI's talented IT department for ya!
shirazcruiser Posted December 1, 2018 #40 Share Posted December 1, 2018 Will RCCL send a Royal Up if you booked with a TA? Also, does it matter if my preferences reflect no automatic upgrade which I assume is a perk of the past with this new program?

I think it's interesting that I got the email, get email about "sale prices on cruises", but never get any notifications of lower prices for any drink packages, restaurants or excursions. Obviously, Royal Caribbean is selective in what they send me and I have no idea why.

The Royal Up email is the first email I have gotten for years, I get neither sale prices or cruise planner sales and they have not been able to fix that. I did find out the emails are sent from different offices. Some types are sent from Guatemala and others from Jamaica. arlodog Posted December 1, 2018 #43 Share Posted December 1, 2018 I got an email offering me to upgrade on a sailing in March. The problem is that it isn't my booking! I don't have another cruise booked until November 2019. Also, when I go to my cruise planner I am apparently going to the Panama Canal on a cruise with some guy I don't know. I am mildly amused, however my husband thought I had booked a cruise and forgot to tell him about it. I had to explain that I must have a boyfriend who booked a cruise for me! Thank heavens we have been married so long he thinks its funny too. I told RCCL about the mysterious Panama Canal cruise and they said they would remove it about 4 months ago. Still not done. Gotta love RCCL IT dept! 2

I did not receive an upgrade offer for this week. The second week I booked a balcony when bookings were first available and have a casino discount on it. I received an upgrade offer on this one. The email is sent to me and cc'd casinofilings. Thought that was interesting.
myolite Posted December 1, 2018 #49 Share Posted December 1, 2018 Sailing on Empress to Cuba in March. Booked an outside cabin. Rcvd offer with only one choice--Grand Suite for 1200 min per person. I didn't grab it. 😉
RFerrington Posted December 1, 2018 #50 Share Posted December 1, 2018 I received a RoyalUp offer on a cruise that is booked through a TA. In fact, I never actually got the offer; it went directly to my TA and she forwarded it to me. So yes, even if your cruise is booked through a TA you can get RoyalUp bid proposals.
