I have a back to back booked on Symphony.  First week is a comped inside room.  I did not receive an upgrade offer for this week.  The second week I booked a balcony when bookings were first available and have a casino discount on it.  I received an upgrade offer on this one.  The email is sent to me and cc'd casinofilings.  Thought that was interesting.

At some point in the past, I questioned the wording on an invoice and a Casino Royale rep told me that CR acts as a TA on comped cruises as far as the financial part goes, which would explain the “cc” on your offer.  My Symphony is a comped inside with no offer, same as yours.  I paid full price for the Brilliance (no casino discount), so my lack of an offer is due to something else; specific ship or sailing, length of four nights, 60 days until boarding, type of cabin, who knows.  I do receive emails from Royal, so it isn’t that I just didn’t receive an offer that was made.

I got an upgrade offer this morning on a Symphony cruise the middle of December.  The offers were all for suites as I have an seaside balcony.

No Thanks.  Quite high bids solicited. Only Jr. suite was reasonable but I've had those.  They are nice but not worth $600 more for us for 7 nights.

I can see the poll results on my laptop.  It's at the top of the page. Just looked up and it's at the top of page 1 and page 2.

Received: 47.35% (107)

Received more than one: 13.27% (30)

Not Received: 39.38% (89)

The second (non paying) passenger on my invoice received the email for a Jan cruise on the Harmony.  When the email was received there was one GS available. The minimum bid for the GS was $400.  Based on what I already paid for a JS, $800 would be less to upgrade to a GS at the current price.   The max bid would be more than the cost of the GS.  Since the other suites are sold out, there is no way to compare the prices but all are available to bid.

Update - there are now 2 GS, 2 JS and "W" available.  The min bid for the GS increased to $690 pp and the max bid is $2400 pp.  The max bid is the same cost of the current cost of the two available GS.  If you bid the max bid or anywhere close you will be overpaying for the room.

I wonder if the rate you paid is a consideration for the the set minimum and max bids.

Did anyone else get a Royalup offer?  We got one last week and we have placed a bid for a Junior Suite but when I checked website to see what was available it  says that all suites are sold out. I don’t hold out much hope of getting an upgrade but you would think RC would know everything is sold out before sending out emails.

Will RCCL send a Royal Up if you booked with a TA?  Also, does it matter if my preferences reflect no automatic upgrade which I assume is a perk of the past with this new program?

Exact question i was going to ask.......guess I missed the boat on this, never heard of this before. Can someone explain how this works?

We are on B2B cruises on Anthem in Feb.  Both are annual Club Royale comp (Prime) rooms that have ultimately been upgrade (by the casino folks) to Star Loft Suites.  I got a RoyalUp offer to bid on the Royal Loft on the first of the 2 cruises but nothing for the second half of the B2B.  So it seems that you can get a RoyalUp offer even if it is a casino comp or casino discount cruise (as these cruises are both).

We will not be bidding for the RLS.  I see no point paying more money when the amenities are the same.  There are just 2 of us.  We do not need the extra space of the RLS.

I have received nothing.  Four nights on Brilliance 1/31/19 and seven nights on Symphony 3/9/19.  One is a casino comped cruise, I wonder how that affected the exclusion from the email.

I received one for a casino comped cruise for which I had paid to upgrade from a balcony to a JS at booking.

I got an email offering me to upgrade on a sailing in March.  The problem is that it isn't my booking!  I don't have another cruise booked until November 2019.  Also, when I go to my cruise planner I am apparently going to the Panama Canal on a cruise with some guy I don't know.  I am mildly amused, however my husband thought I had booked a cruise and forgot to tell him about it.  I had to explain that I must have a boyfriend who booked a cruise for me!  Thank heavens we have been married so long he thinks its funny too.

I told RCCL about the mysterious Panama Canal cruise and they said they would remove it about 4 months ago.  Still not done.

Gotta love RCCL IT dept!

That was me who booked you for the Panama Canal. I was hoping to surprise you on Christmas.

Those that have bid and won the Royalup room upgrades could you please list 4 things for us in the forum.  This will help us all understand the process and maybe get an idea of what it takes to "win" an upgrade.

Date of sailing:

Ship being sailed:

Room booked to room upgraded:

Winning bid per person:

I don't see where the two existing threads answer the OP's questions. I'll admit I have not read the entire 15 page thread though.

Honest and legit 🤔

This is the internet after all. 😉

The two existing threads on this subject are not enough?

Well to be honest I have read through both posts and there is not any concrete information on winning bids. I would like to see some winners come forward and discuss their success to get some more data.
