librarygal Posted March 7, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2019 I want to share a little secret about my husband and me, just between you and me. At home, we sleep in our own room. Why: Both of us have terrible insomnia and have completely different sleep schedules. I like to go to bed late and sleep in during the morning, while Mr. Librarygal goes to bed early and wakes up early. Both of us snore, can't use earplugs and just prefer having our own space. When we travel and have to share a room, we sleep very poorly and are run down as a result. So when we cruise, we bite the bullet and spend the extra money and get our own cabins. Can you relate? Anyone else sleep in separate rooms from your spouse or SO at home, and spend the extra money to get your own cabin when you cruise?
Krazy Kruizers Posted March 7, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2019 Nope -- we sleep in the same room at home and share the same cabin on a cruise. We both snore but are used to each other. We both go to bad at the same time and get up at the same time.
Rare FlyerTalker Posted March 7, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2019 Truly glad to find that you have that kind of disposable income. Never would have considered that, given your other posts here on CC. Or maybe you really don't, but want to start up another "interesting" discussion that has little basis in reality.

Yes, wondered when she was going to start another "controversial" thread. Must have a boring life if this is how she gets her kicks! FlyerTalker, if you are looking for more ridiculousness, try the thread on the Crystal board arguing what is and what is not a taco! leaveitallbehind Posted March 7, 2019 #5 Share Posted March 7, 2019 So maybe all the noise next door from your neighbors that you complained so vigorously about on your last cruise was actually Mr. Libraygal!? Please go away......
navybankerteacher Posted March 7, 2019 #6 Share Posted March 7, 2019 I wonder if she will continue booking separate cabins when she switches to premium lines as mentioned elsewhere. More likely: both themes are pure BS.
Rare John Bull Posted March 7, 2019 #7 Share Posted March 7, 2019 It would be a whole lot cheaper to change to a new husband. Or is that being a bit too mercenary? JB
Rare Kmkub Posted March 7, 2019 #8 Share Posted March 7, 2019 Even if we could afford to double the price of our cruises (we definitely cannot,) we wouldn't do this. Snuggling with my husband is one of my favorite things in life.
kerryincork Posted March 7, 2019 #9 Share Posted March 7, 2019 I would book a separate room if I could afford it. My travel companion is a terrible snorer. I do find ear plugs work well. But they can be painful if you are wearing them 8 hours a night.
George C Posted March 7, 2019 #10 Share Posted March 7, 2019 We like suites that give us some extra room and lets one be able to sleep and other to watch tv.
SantaFeFan Posted March 7, 2019 #11 Share Posted March 7, 2019 (edited) You two should just book separate cruises. He would probably appreciate getting away from your habitual nonsense. Oh, and absolutely separate from any cruise I am on. Edited March 7, 2019 by SantaFeFan
nascarcruiser Posted March 7, 2019 #12 Share Posted March 7, 2019 Why is this something you feel you should share? To brag about your financial status? So you can share your personal life with a bunch of strangers? 2
jessencaitly Posted March 7, 2019 #13 Share Posted March 7, 2019 So glad I opened this thread to read. After the other comments regarding prior posts by this person, I went back and read some of their other threads, and it was just the amusement I needed this morning. Their posts are repeats of ones they made about 6 years ago, almost to the word. Seems like some people have a huge need for attention and to "stir the pot". Rare GeezerCouple Posted March 7, 2019 #15 Share Posted March 7, 2019 So Mary and Bruce don't get along at night? Maybe that's why they are cranky. Perhaps they should use the daytime for naps to catch up with sleep. That would probably make everyone happier. GC
Velvetwater Posted March 7, 2019 #16 Share Posted March 7, 2019 (edited) My husband and I have similar sleep schedules. I the insomniac night owl who likes to read/youtube and have a midnight bowl of cereal until I feel sleepy enough. My husband likes to rise early and do similar...he has trouble staying asleep. We snore rarely thankfully and he can sleep with my background sounds. Therefore we share a bed and a cabin. CruisingAlong4Now Posted March 7, 2019 #17 Share Posted March 7, 2019 Some topics from OP: 1. Could you buy toiletries and over the counter drugs on your last cruise ship? 2. Do you agree that the food quality in the buffet is tasteless and is poor quality? 3. Miserable Cruise: We seriously thought about bailing out of the cruise- would you? 4. Do you find cruise cabins noisy at night? 5. What will I notice when I cruise on the 5 Star and Expensive Cruiselines? 6. Any truly exotic and interesting cruise ports in the Caribbean?
Rare GeezerCouple Posted March 7, 2019 #18 Share Posted March 7, 2019 I think it's time to block dear Mary and Bruce. (They *thrive* on what we all post, and knowing we are all wasting our time because of them, after all.) Watching an amateur train wreck is losing any appeal it might have had. Bye bye... What is out of the ordinary is why you feel the need to share this information with a bunch of people on an internet forum. If you were sharing or asking about a particular activity or port that is one thing but to basically come here and say we sleep in separate cabins gives people who don't know you insight into your relationship on those close to you should have.
