Elite Goodies

I have not been on a cruise for 4 years so I wonder what goodies an Elite gets in their room?

It varies. Nail file, shower cap, loufa scrubber, fake Q-Tips, cotton balls, Linen Spray. There may be other goodies. These are the ones I remember from my most recent cruises.

I toss most of it. The only things I have a use for is the spray and nail file. Sometimes, the Q-Tips and cotton balls.

What kind of surprises are you looking for? You may receive a nice welcome back greeting. You will get an order form for formal night canape selections. We pass on these, not very good in our opinion. Sort through your bag of suite goodies. The emery boards are good quality. If you want additional laundry bags ask the cabin steward. The cabin normally has two. We require lots more for longer cruises.

There use to be a sewing kit but we did not get it last time.  And wouldn't you know, I needed it.

Yes, they didn't give me the separate shampoo and conditioner and said it's on the wall in the shower. I told them I needed the elite bathroom amenitys and the cabin steward said he'd ask his supervisor. They were in my bathroom later that day.  They are cutting back on way too much and adding a ton of sales pitches in it's place.

Milestone cruises may be new since you last sailed with Princess. You are recognized and get some goodies on the cruise including your 500th day on Princess and every 250 days after that.

I think the two glasses of some cheap sparkling wine on the first day are Elite perks.  I have also received a fruit basket, chocolate dipped strawberries and a bottle of sparkling wine, but I do not recall which of those were from the casino and which were Elite benefits.

Glasses of sparkling are only in Mini Suites and above. Fruit basket is available upon request, and sorry but no Strawberries unless you pay for them.

On the buffet at dinner time, there's usually a bowl of fresh strawberries.  I snag a bowl of them to put on my cottage cheese at breakfast the next morning.  I always get asked "where did you get those strawberries?"

Good idea!   I will have to keep an eye out for them next time we are on board.

I guess this should go into "secrets of Princess cruises."  No need to pay for strawberries, go get them yourself!  The one thing I've learned about cruising, do for yourself because "they ain't going to do it for you!"

Not that I am aware of. Most of the goodies offered were mentioned in a post above. There hasn't been any surprises unless it's your birthday or anniversary and you get chocolate dipped strawberries if you are lucky 🙂

None are Elite benefits. Except for the 2 glasses of sparkling, cabin related, the others must all be casino perks.

On our last Regal, the elite toiletry kit was not there.  I asked for it and it never came.

Anyone can get a bathrobe if you request it when you check in online. Strawberries are in short supply in the buffet, I think I saw them once on my repo cruise this week. Grapes are the new strawberries. You can pluck a tiny bunch off of one of the cheese display plates at dinner. Fruit in general was very mediocre... mostly melons, pineapple, and winter fruit, plus plums.

You do not get to keep the bathrobe. If you want one "free" take the ultimate ship tour which cost about $150.

Oh, I thought they were talking about getting a robe in your cabin. You get a waffle weave one if you request it at checkin.
