March 7th sailing for DH  and me.

Looking forward to a new ship experience. We have been to the ports many times,so the Sky will be our focus.

We will be interested in reading reviews from CC members sailing before March.

Definitely will be looking for your review,Norris !

Hi, MJ, as usual I will start it the day I get home (Jan 26th) and will have a boatload of pics and video.

I didn't go looking for the ship but rather a Western Carib itinerary and the Sky popped up so I was happy to try a new ship, especially when French Bistro appeared in the offerings and I believe it will have some outdoor tables. I look forward to that!

Good to know you will be reading the review and I hope you'll read my Silhouette to Norway in early September this year.

Cheers!

Booked for the Jan 11,2020 cruise. Hopefully it will be a fabulous ship.

We're b2b February 1 and 8, 2020, on Sky.  Excited to be on a new ship!  We sailed Royal when she was just a couple months old and it was all bright and shiny.

For some reason I cannot find where to enter my info on Meat & Mingle. I put in Princess and all that comes up is information.

Here's the link to your roll call, hopefully this will help.

When I entered Carnival the next thing that came up was a listing of the ships to choose which one. nothing for Princess or celebrity. Roll call was not the problem. Thanks

That's because Princess does not sponsor Cruise Critic Meet and Mingle events, like RC and Celebrity do. Therefore, there is no place to sign up online.

If there is to be one, someone on the roll call who enjoys taking charge will start a participant list, and make the arrangements with Princess.  All Princess supplies is the venue, and an officer or 2, if the organizer invites them.

January 18th sailing for me.

Looking forward to the French Bistro.

The French Bistro took the place of Crooner's.  :classic_angry:   I wonder what the "Take Five" will be like?

I love Crooner’s - I see it is back on the Enchanted.  Take five is a jazz bar - I don’t mind jazz but as hubby says” it’s the same thing over and over”!  I just want a sweet place to drink and people watch !

Dave Brubeck's Quartet, Take Five. I loved that song. I agree, but a lot of different styles are the same thing over and over. How about the almighty RAP! RAP it is not singing it is not a song. It is RAP that is why they call it RAP. The French Quarter the same way. Spanish the same over and over. Acid rock and more and more. We all listen to what we like. My parents loved the big bands, and so did I. But I was young and loved the 50s. That was my era. My parents called it noise and junk. Now I call all the so called music noise and junk. So it is and will be forever. Guess that is why the ships have different music all over the ship. So many to pick from and enjoy.

We were looking forward to Take Five but its right beside both the casino and the cigar bar.  That doesn't look to good.   😞  I am not trying to rile smokers, its just an opinion.

I do not smoke. However, I would think that they have excellent exhaust systems and filters to remove the smoke and odor. As for the casino. Is there that much noise coming from a casino? Once you are in a different room, I do not think you would even hear it. i certainly can be wrong.

Hi,

When DH and I were last on the Royal there was a huge tournament in the Casino..lots of noise...lots of smoke.

No issue with smoke or noise while in Club 6 each evening, and it's adjacent to both the Casino and Churchill's.

I agree. Should not be a problem at all.

That's in the same place that Take Five will be!  Thanks for your post.  Much appreciated.

Here is a photo I took when I sailed on the original Sky Princess.

We were on the Sky in 2000 in Australia and New Zealand. We are planning to sail on the Sky in December......it will be a very different experience.
