Whew - checked out posts before I went into work this morning (early 4am) and came back to read 10 pages (I think).

All those in the path -- thoughts are with you.

John -- Bella -- she is just too adorable. Does she get antsy when any storm approaches?

We left the ship around 11 with no real plans. I then suggested we stop at the restaurant that has the wrestling ring. How could you go wrong with Lucha Libre, Mexican Wrestlers and food right in the port area.

They brought out 4 wrestlers and they proceeded to put on a 30 minute show. We arrived at noon and the match started at 12:30.

and the action went out into the audience or tables, depending on how see it.

I had the skirt steak and it was amazing, Owen a burger, and Lisa had chicken quesadillas. We washed lunch down with some drinks.

While loading to YouTube I figured I should continue on. The free Wi-Fi is definitely slow the uploading time.

One considered buying a hat but we realized it wouldn’t fit in the overhead compartment.

And like every Mexican port of call there were a few drugstores.

The sign out front was interesting. Four of these things could be related to the same thing. LOL

We stopped to see the flamingos.

And we also caught a traditional display that they put on. Obviously in the old days they didn’t use a steel post but you get the idea. Unfortunately we didn’t catch the significant importance but it was pretty crazy watching it.

On the NCL board, they are reporting that the Breakaway is leaving Cozumel at 4:00 a.m. tonight for arrival in Miami on Sunday.

Wow. If I had to fly home I would not be a fan of being stranded in MIA, especially if the airport closes early. I thought all the Florida ports closed?🤔

I hope it works out for all of them, but for me I’m happy right where I am.

The forecast for Hurricane Dorian keeps becoming more ominous and serious, particularly in Florida, even as the specifics as to exactly where it will strike remain highly uncertain.

Dorian steadily strengthened Thursday night and Friday, growing into “an extremely dangerous” Category 4 storm with winds of 130 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center. This intensification trend is forecast to continue.

Hurricane Dorian gained Category 4 intensity faster than expected, illustrating the complexities involved in anticipating periods of rapid intensification.

In its 8 p.m. advisory, the Hurricane Center wrote that “... Additional strengthening is forecast, and Dorian is anticipated to remain an extremely dangerous hurricane while it moves near the northwestern Bahamas and approaches the Florida peninsula into early next week.” The upgrade to Category 4 intensity occurred after the 8 p.m. advisory was issued, after a NOAA Hurricane Hunter aircraft measured stronger winds in the storm.

Stay safe everyone

I thought so, too, but someone did mention that they haven’t been cleared by the Coast Guard yet.

Doesn’t seem logical. Seems a little reminiscent of Anthem sailing into the winter Hurricane yeas ago. Just not worth attempting IMO, and I’m no Captain or Meteorologist.  Fingers crossed for them.

I have enjoyed reading your TR so far.  We will be on your original itinerary on 9/22.

We also have a thrill island cabana booked.  Did you find it to be overly loud with music playing?  Someone made a reference to this, but I have not seen any actual reports.

My BF and I were in Cozumel last Saturday and did an excursion to save baby sea turtles.  If you could get hooked up with one of these excursions, it was amazing.  It was my 12th cruise and the best excursion I have ever done.

We dug up sea turtle nests that had hatched the night before to help get the little guys who hadn't made it out.

We didn’t find the music loud, and in comparison to the bands at the pool it was quiet.

We almost did the turtle rescue last March with Owen. We should check if it is available on Sunday. They are some one of the most beautiful animals. We swam on the coast with them in Nassau years ago and in January we are going to Sandals in Barbados and we will swim with them there as well. LOL, Lisa does like an occasional change from cruising.

So that about wraps up the day.

I got some more official stuff accomplished. Emailed our car service and they said they will be ready to get us whenever we return.  Called my mom, who happens to be in Germany right now.  I let her know that I can’t pick her up on Wednesday when she flies home, but Sharon will. Even mom knew about the storm in Germany. Emailed work and a few other people. Owen’s hockey President also knows we are most likely not making the first tryout due to the Hurricane.

This was on our TV tonight in our messages. Not a surprise as we had heard about this in the past.

I thought I’d share our updated itinerary that hangs on our cabin door.

From our knowledge there are at least 3 suite cabin guest that are going to try and fly home from Cozumel tomorrow.  We however booked tickets to Playa Mia this afternoon on-line for tomorrow.

We did buy a small glass vase in port that Lisa liked. It’s so well wrapped up that I’m not taking a picture of it.

I might😉 have done some shopping online today at Air Canada and on the ship as well. I will share more when the timing gets closer.

  • Clarea changed the title to Harmony Live, August 25th to September 4th? - Summer days drifting away...

Friends of ours who were scheduled on the next Harmony cruise in a CL have notified RCCL that they will not be sailing. Should be an opening available. 😀

Might help to mention cabin number so he can ask for that specific cabin when he goes to ask about getting a cabin on the next cruise? Might make for an easier transition to the next cabin.

Latest forecast is that not hitting PC area till Tuesday & Wednesday and may not be a direct hit. We are all hoping for the wobble that keeps it further off shore.....which is a possibility!!

Good morning. We must be close to Cozumel because I can feel the ship do the azipod shutter.

It’s like the ship is twerking. There’s an image for you... “I like big afts and I can not lie”.
