I'm at the airport heading home from  my first cruise in the MSC Yacht Club. I think it is a great option for some and a poor one for others.  I'll be writing a review in the next couple of days. Spoiler..... we loved it,but there are some caveats.

The YC is a ship in a ship experience. Your own lounge, restaurant, and pool deck. Premium drinks are included, though with premium + you also get the mini bar in the cabin and any drink . Either way, the drinks are free throughout the ship. There is also a separate entrance under a tent where a butler will escort you onto the ship. No lines. It's the only way to go on MSC. You are truly treated like royalty.

Minibar is included with all basic YC cabins.  Restocked twice daily if you wish.  A restaurant that is open every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Including port days.  The menus change, unlike NCL’s Haven.  There are always snacks changed every few hours in the Top Sail Lounge in addition to food available grilled or cooked to order and a Buffet at the One Pool Bar.  In addition to the main YC restaurant.  And drinks covered throughout the rest of the ship with the exception of some high ticket drinks.

And the price is much less than Celebrity’s suites.

We did the Yacht Club, on the Seaside last September and we just got off the Equinox two weeks ago after spending two weeks in a Sky Suite, with all four perks. A week from Saturday we will be repeating our cruise on the Seaside, no plans for doing a suite on Celebrity again.

The mini-bar is included in YC - you don't need to upgrade to PremiumPlus (which is only needed if you want to avail of the very top-end drinks products with prices next to them on the YC menus - which have been posted on other threads - such as better champagnes and spirits and don't want to pay as you go).

A couple of questions if you don’t mind. You seem to know the YC well. 🙂 We will be on the Grandiosa out of Barcelona in a YC Deluxe suite if that matters. We have been on a lot of cruises but first time on MSC. I feel like a newbie.......🙂

Concerning the drink package that comes with the YC. I assume that would cover most drinks on board? Was checking to see if we really needed to upgrade to the PP package but from your previous comments it looks as though we do not.

How does the internet package work for two people? There will be two devices being used. Would we need a separate package if two will be using both devices at the same time?

Does entertainment have have to be reserved?

Appreciate any information.

Thanks.

The included package for YC is equivalent to the Premium one and is very comprehensive, so no need to upgrade to PremiumPlus.  The only drinks not included are the ones with prices next to them on the YC menu and those on one page of the main bar menu, in the rest of the ship, known as Connoisseur's Selection.  The menu for Med-based cruises is on the following thread (from post #35) where you will get an idea of what is included:

I'm not familiar enough with internet packages to answer your question on the subject.  We have the standard package for our upcoming cruise which covers 2 devices.  I'll know more after using it.  Someone with more experience might row in here on that one.

For the main theatre, you can have a butler escort you to the reserved area of the theatre as long as you arrive in good time.  They usually release the seats to others about 10 minutes before the show starts.  You can get more concrete information from the concierge once onboard.

For Cirque du Soleil, you have to both book and pay to see the show.

Hope that some of that's helpful.

I really hope you enjoy YC on Grandiosa and that you have a wonderful cruise, overall.  YC exceeds a lot of people's expectations;  just don't let any issues simmer - let them know if you have a problem:  if there's a YC Director, take it to him if necessary.  Otherwise, the head butler is the person to speak to.  Believe me, it's worth getting it dealt with!  On our recent Seaview cruise, I spoke with a woman who was having problems with service in the restaurant.  She, too, was new to both YC and MSC.  I told her who to speak to;  she couldn't thank me enough later as she said that the situation was turned right around and they couldn't believe how well things went from there.  It meant that they got to enjoy the rest of the cruise without rancour.

If the internet package is the Standard package, which I think will be included with YC bookings after Sept, 2020 it can be used with up to two devices. They can be used at the same time and the total usage is counted against the package limit.

I thought Meraviglia used the reservation system for the main theater shows, Cirque definitely does.  This can be done on the phone app, at kiosks around the ship, on cabin TV or through the concierge.  I would do it soon after boarding.
