They have sofas on deck 16 above the Wakeview but they are a smoking area

 

 

However they also have them on both sides on deck 16 outside the buffet entrance - no aft view and they are covered but better than nothing!

MedallionNet is coping fine with posting on cruisecritic but had a bad patch loading up a large file this afternoon - we shall see 🙂

Well we made it onboard! Check-in was a bit disorganised but there were lots of staff new to the whole Medallion concept. We were Ocean Ready without Medallions and were directed to 2 different waiting areas until we were ushered up to scan our passes and collect our Medallions. We were onboard by 11am and in our stateroom by 11:30 (after heading straight to the Sanctuary to book our loungers later in the week) Prices are consistent with the other ships. All the cabanas that were next to the Retreat Pool before are up on deck 18 now.

 

 

 

Our Premium Suite is lovely! And the Medallion door unlocking worked immediately

Thanks for posting the pictures of the Premium Suite.  The layout looks identical to the Regal.  My favorite type of suite.  You get the great forward facing large window and a nice side balcony.

Keep a look out for head waitress Irina! She moved from Royal to Sky and was phenomenal on our 3 sailings on Royal this year!

There are some loungers in the sun and some partially covered by a white awning - but the sun moves so you may have to adjust the loungers as you go.

Thank you so much for the dinner menus! I’m excited at the prospect of French onion soup now being one of the features on the daily favourites. Fingers crossed. 

A couple of things I’m hoping you’ll be able to comment on...

 

1. Does the new back pool make the outside seating area behind the buffet a little bit rowdy or noisy? I always enjoyed sitting back there, especially in the late evenings.

 

2. (If you use it...) Does the more extensive new menu in the outdoor hamburger grill greatly increase the wait times in line? I liked being able to grab a quick bite of fresh, hot fries and am wondering if that’ll now mean a long wait with the different burgers, tacos, etc that will be available.

3. And again, only if you used it...did the food/drinks you ordered through your medallion via cell phone arrive pretty quickly or were there long waits?

 

4. Can people walk thought the outdoor Alfredo’s and Le Mer seating area or is it blocked off?

Hey Nancy, yes outside dining was quite busy for Alfredos on embarkation day so we didn't want to disturb everyone. Didn't like the chairs though - not that roomy so we sat inside

 

 

Will try and get a better pic when it's less busy. The poor staff have to walk the length of the restaurant from the ovens to get to the door though.
