How do I keep it a secret?

I appreciate all your comments but my family LOVES surprises. We pull off long drawn out complicated schemes as almost a competition.  I know my family very well and they will be so thrilled.

I do have access to their passports because they are in our family safety deposit box. My credit card will be attached to their room not theirs. Who would say "surprise! Now you have to pay for drinks shore excursions!" They "know" they are packing for 7 days, that we will be "on the coast" that we will be doing lots of walking but they should bring some dress clothes in case we go to fancy dinners. Oh, and they think we are stopping at a hot springs, so they will have suits. They will find out the surprise at the airport and Seatac has anything they might need. Heck, I think grabbing last minute essentials or even a pretty dress in a mad dash to get on the plane to California might be part of the fun!

I am mostly worried about uploading the photos, and the accepting the policies part. It sounds like I can do that part at the port. So, I guess I am all set!

Sounds great.  Just one question.  Your family does not read Cruise Critic?  Because that might give your secret away.

I think it is obvious why the OP has not come back.

I hope they have an amazing trip!

If I was the OP I would run! Only a couple of posts are directed at her question. The rest are just horrid!

You do? Because I thought I didnt check this feed because i was on a plane back from London. But clearly you know more about me then I do!

I thought because people were rude about your own idea, that I personally wouldn't come back. Thanks for responding. Hope London was good.

Sorry I was so flippant. That was rude of me. I think I've been awake 36 hours and I might have left my politeness in customs.

Mexico, 7 days on the Royal, mid December. 🙂

I just got off the Royal. A few things:

- they sell flip flops

- regular Chicos stock onboard just not an enormous selection + a really cute tank top without the Princess logo for $12. I bought beige but the grey with black embroidery on 1 shoulder was nice too. High low hem. Also a nice wrap / shrug for just $21 so if she wants an extra.... it's there

- 750ml bottles of really good New Zealand wine for $9 at Alfredos (this restaurant only charges for after meal expressos)

- the whole lobby will be decked out

Shame on you . Your response is so reasonable and clear it's going to be hard to continue any nastiness ! 🤩

I read the first page of this a few days ago and thought "Uh-Oh....people are going to get nasty".  I stopped reading!  (I hate nastiness!!)  😉

Then, today I saw there were FOUR pages.  I did NOT go back and read them (the 'hate nastiness' thing....)  but see that this last page has some really nice responses.  Good!!!

Would I surprise MY GROUP like that?  Probably not.......but then you'd have to know 'my group' haha!!  However, I'd LOVE to be on the receiving end of such a surprise.

🙂 🙂🙂 Please adopt me! Please adopt me! 🙂 🙂

Yeah, OP was nice with the people who weren't quite keen on the surprise-at-the-last-second part. But other posters called us nasty, rude and horrid just because we like to plan things in advance. How interesting.

I did not see that! the OP did some thing very nice for her family! One poster said they would be pissed if this happened to them! Your family booked and paid for a trip and you would be pissed ???

Really!!

Well, A:I bought them an unobstructed balcony and B: some people cant afford a balcony and shaming them because of it is kinda crappy. I am super blessed to make more than enough money to travel a few times a year. I can even afford to get them whatever extras they may need.  Some families save for years for one cruise and can hardly afford an inside cabin let alone a view. Some of those people are reading these boards. Maybe we can not "ugh" people who cant afford the same things as us. If

If I was a first time cruiser reading this whole thread I would think that most cruisers are spoiled elitist and insufferable and I would book a trip to Disneyland instead.

Sorry, I did read it. I think that's why I am so annoyed. I am trying very hard to be cordial but it's getting on my last available nerve! Seriously, how ungrateful and spoiled can people be?!

I totally agree.  Some people are beyond belief.  I'm not sure if I missed when you will be cruising, but I hope you return after it's completed and tell us all about your surprise.
