So sorry for family of four locked down in a tiny inside cabin.  I have happily cruised in an inside cabin in the past but this has turned me off cruising in an inside cabin in future.

It would be really tough, particularly with four people in an inside cabin.

Yes, me too. We did survive 35 nights on Sea Princess on the Tahiti/Hawaii cruise last September but at least we could move around the ship during the day. I hope they come up with some way of allowing inside cabin passengers to go outside for a bit under escort otherwise there could be some serious issues. The main problem with most of the Princess cabins, even some balconies, is lack of somewhere to sit in the cabin other than the bed, especially since they removed the chair. That could cause serious back problems for some passengers. At least those passengers in balcony cabins or better have the option of sitting outside for a while, weather permitting. Hmmm, I wonder if this will result in those chairs being put back into cabins?

On the Princess thread it said they were going to let inside passengers out in a certain area for set periods, which is good news.  I just wonder what took them so long to decide that might be a good idea.

I noticed that the four berth inside cabin shown was very tiny.  The inside cabins I've cruised in, on small ships,  were roomy, with big beds.

Also latest reports say Princess is sourcing medications for people who are running out, and Princess is paying for them as well. Well done, Princess.

The medical centres on board carry “most medications”  , albeit a generic substitute . In case of emergencies, , but certainly not enough for any constant  or ongoing use. They would rely on topping up at ports of call.

That's the standard size for an inside cabin on Diamond. We cruised up to Tokyo on her a couple of years ago in an inside cabin. Small but comfortable for two but I'd hate to be in one with four people. But then again I could have handled that sort of set-up when I was a lot younger.

Good to hear they are going to allow passengers to go outside.

Apparently they are arranging for prescriptions to be filled in Yokohama.

Shame that many passengers are verbally harassing the poor old cabin crew. Can't be easy for them either.

There will always be some people who expect that the rules don't apply to them and that everything is the fault of the crew unfortunately. Even on the most perfect cruise there will be complainers.

Whew, I personally am very relieved to get off the NCL Jade in Singapore today after a week trip starting in Hong Kong. Thought we might get stuck also in a quarantine situation in Singapore. I would not like to be on next cruise returning to Hong Hong next week, the chances of getting 1 person onboard with the virus are increasing everyday.

Is NCL going to keep to the schedule and return to Hong Kong?

Actually I don't believe there has been any mention of compensation for people currently in quarantine on the ship. Those that were due to board a day or so ago were offered a full refund and 100% FCC, probably those on the second cancelled cruise are getting the same. However Princess has just cancelled a third cruise on Diamond  full refund but only 50% FCC.

Furthermore they may be on a cruise ship but they are not on a cruise - confined to cabins, limited meals, no cabin service, can't buy drinks, limited entertainment, etc are not normal cruising conditions.

So what cruises are cancelled now in addition to the Feb 4 and Feb 12 ones mentioned on their website.

Definitely not a normal cruise.

Post from David Abel on Facebook says "Passengers with inside cabins are now allowed to walk on the deck for 1.5 hours under the supervision of the Quarantine officers. They must stay 1 metre apart from one another and not make contact or congregate in groups".

Bit of a legend that David Abel, he is only talking to UK reporters according to his latest broadcast.

I haven't listen to his latest videos, but the last one I did he said he had talked to all sorts of media.

Morning young Sarah….The one he made yesterday I just watched, he said he had been hammered by the international media 24/7 and was now only talking to UK media.   He is doing a fine job in my opinion.   Princess will probably sign him up after this and give him a job as on board guest speaker.

Food and beverages are being brought to their rooms via a daily menu. Guests in inside and non-balcony staterooms are now permitted to get fresh air on a rotating basis, as directed by Public Health authorities. We are also providing many in-room activities and additional entertainment options. This includes new TV channels, movies, audiobooks, exercise videos, arts and crafts, board and card games delivered to each stateroom, and more.

I saw a copy of the quarantine menu posted, lunch -  stir fry or stir fry, dinner - lasagne or beef stew, better than nothing, Princess staff on board would be under the pump alright.  I would have withdrawal symptoms by now - no alcohol, , I would have quaffed our Elite Mini Bar by day 3.  Good luck to all those on board.
