Received this email that was forwarded to me around 930 PM EST regarding an RCL Webcast tomorrow to Travel Partners and a temporary policy update that will apply to all three RCI brands.  Perhaps they will announce something related to cancellations, refunds, future credits, or a combination of all three.

I’d be surprised if it were anything more than what they said in email about the added screenings. Which is only going to catch people if they’re symptomatic at that second in time, not if they’re just a carrier. But hoping you’re right.

Not surprising. People that disembarked from the Grand Princess in San Francisco on Feb. 21st mostly went home and back into the community. :classic_rolleyes:

And now they are making a fuss about people that are presently onboard. I don't know why they are stressing about testing. It is already in the population and pretty much...out of control. We'll get through it.

And one in Placer County who died. Do you really think that they were the only 3 people exposed onboard? :classic_rolleyes:

According to the news in the UK on the current sailing there are 10 crew and 11 passengers infected

35 now SA. ( with symptoms) But it doesn't really matter. A whole boatload of people disembarked in SF on 2/21 and dispersed. Those Princess cruises out of SF are local cesspools of flu/colds/noro anyway. We have no interest in them. :classic_biggrin:

And as I mentioned on a now deleted thread. The much larger problem is if/when it gets into the huge California homeless population. But the warmer weather should help.

Wow, hopefully they will extend the cancellation period.  Our final payment is due next friday and we are waiting until the last minute to cancel to see if they ease their cancellation policy.  We have insurance, but i will still loose 25% of the total cruise cost if i cancel after i make that final payment.

Just heard 3 cases of coronavirus is in Baltimore, the Grandeur Port in Balt.  If we write and ask questions etc. to RC corporate as I have done we might get them to give us credit for future cruises ..keep this going and we might hear them update there terrible policy..we sail april 4..2020

This is very good to know but I don't know what to do now!...We are booked an April 25th Cruise and paid a lot extra to get married on the ship thru Royal Celebrations....I don't know if they will follow the same guidelines.

I don't really want to change the date since we already have everything set....with all the wedding stuff, Items with the date on them, guests already booked also.

This is so overwhelming and stressful!

Is the state notifying the other passengers from the cruise that returned 2/20?  Are they testing the crew?  Very scary.

Thank you RCI for doing the right thing  and offering everyone to cancel within 48 hours with RCC applied to future trips!!

To those who were following, we did purchase insurance at time of booking,  as it was not cancel at anytime, it was worthless unless we actually were ill prior to the trip.

Again, Thank you RCI !!!!!

I am glad you waited for this to play out and can now cancel with a FCC.  I completely understand why you would not want to sail with your daughter at this time.  Stay healthy!
