Cruise Ship Locations - During the cruise ship ban of 2020/2021/2022

That is a bit of a crap news story:

"Cruise ships have been banned from entering Queensland waters until the coronavirus pandemic is over.

On Friday, Queensland Health extended its ban on a foreign flagged cruise ship from entering state waters "until the end of the public health emergency".

The public health emergency was due to expire on August 17, but that date can be extended.

That article is a bit vague. The actual wording is "until the end of the public health emergency", presumably in Queensland or Australia overall, but which may or may not be the end of the pandemic worldwide.  The public health emergency is due to expire August 17th but, of course, could be extended. So no real news in that article.

Apparently Sea Princess has been drawing pretty past-track pictures during her times at sea to produce water.

The last one that was posted on FB was a medical cross inside a heart, in honour of all the doctors, nurses and paramedics.

Besides showing appreciation for the medical community these maneuvers have a practical purpose. It keeps the watch officers sharp with their navigation, the helmsmen practiced in course following and the lookouts have to keep an eye out for things that may be in the way.

What a spectacle Manila Bay must be with all those ships, hopefully when they finally disperse we won't have a sight like again that for a long time.

Thanks, Kiwi_cruiser.

What gets me is the precision on the arcs. Not jusr the big ones at the top of the heart but the corners of all arms of the cross, plus the arms of the cross are perfectly aligned. Amazing.

Yes but you can't just tell a computer to plot a cross inside a heart. The various changes in course to bring about that pattern would have to be entered manually.

Interesting and wide ranging article. Starts with the issue of 42,000 crew still on ships awaiting repatriation. Then includes the related issues of cruise lines relationships with various, particularly Caribbean, countries.

I love P&O UK, been on a few of their ships, like Arcadia, Aurora and Oriana.  A completely different product to P&O Straya.🤐

They have kept many of ye olde cruise traditions like Cunard has, i.e. dress codes/standards are enforced.

G&T anyone?  Perhaps some kippers and black pudding for breakfast?

You have always been a good advertisement for P&O UK.  You must have many happy memories of cruises with them.
