Morning all, had a busy day yesterday, had my grandson over in the morning ( my son text me the day before could I have him, of course I say - what time- 8am!!) Had a lovely time with him, he has a bit of a lisp now he’s lost a tooth 😁

Then I went to a surprise 30th birthday for my friend’s daughter in a local social club held at lunchtime. John joined  us for the last hour after he finished work, plenty of food was left for him! There was also money behind the bar but he was happy with the coffee urn!

Then we flew in for a brief-ish visit to mum! Phew!

Looks the best day of the weekend today but John is working again. I’ll watch the Liverpool match later.

John has tomorrow off but typically the weather doesn’t look too good.

Have a good day all, one day we might get a day out!

A glorious day here sitting looking over the Irish Sea. Quite cold in the shade but lack of a breeze makes it pleasant in the sun. The only drawback is that I needed to pop to Tesco to buy a pair of shorts having left all mine at home. Typical.

The sun’s gone in again here! I actually feel quite cold!

We have my sister-in-laws huntaway Vala staying with us over the weekend. She is a handful on the lead but well behaved overall. She is obsessed with our guinea pig Lulu who lives in our summer house.

Lulu often goes nose to nose with Teddy through the hutch grill and they are very relaxed in each other’s company.

Vala is very excitable but it doesn’t seem to have phased Lulu at all!

It’s a dull day here, with added spells of mizzle.  Such a shame after a rare sunny day yesterday.  It was nice for the balloon festival, but a shame (afaiac) that they had to conclude with a window-shaking firework extravaganza at 10.15 last night.  I expect I’m just a miserable old fart 🙄

My best bit of today was coming across a little field vole on our walk today.  He was very bold (or perhaps unconcerned?).  Crossed the path in front of me and then sat chomping on a seed case from a tree, as OH, I and the dog walked past

Not my pic, but this is what he looked likeC286A95A-E39C-4209-8E78-F56D4D3A6AC0.jpeg.efef26493b0d29c42d10cd5e78c9e8f3.jpeg

Lovely day here, very warm this morning while we were sat out. We went to a 90th birthday party this afternoon, it was the landlady from my local when I was nobbut a  lad. It was a bit weird at first as everyone was eyeballing each other to try and figure out who was who. A lot of beer was drunk and a lot of reminiscing was carried out. Enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend.

Not been a bad day again, with sunshine for most of the day and temperature reached 20C.

Managed to get a lot of gardening jobs done, mowed and edged the lawn, hoed the borders, mulched around some perennials and bushes, deadheaded the last of the remaining daffodils and the tulip, removed lot more Ivy from the garden walls, prepared the remains stems for a dose of SBK stump killer. Started to cut back the Japanese Flowering Quince now the flowers have died back, it gone a little haywire in the last couple of years so cutting it right back to make it more of a flowering shrub rather than flowering branches on a bare central stems.

Hopefully can get some more done tomorrow, but showers are forecast from mid morning will see if that changes overnight.

Wow, you were busy Snow Hill.  Wore me out just reading it😂

Perhaps just thinking about it might make me fall asleep now!  3.09

I think it affected by sleep, I woke up about 5:15 am from a dream in which moles had invaded my garden. 😂

Glad to say this was not the case.

Another early morning for me courtesy of the birds who decided that 4 am is a good time to start singing.  The good thing about being awake so early is that the washing is alr easy out to dry on the line.

We have clear blue sky at the moment and it is already 9°c.

Have a good day.

Morning a busy day doing little yesterday apart from awaiting text messages

from the granddaughter who had took our 8 month old to the hozzi on the

advice of NHS-111.

She had been stressed two days and yesterday refused drinks and came out

a rash.

Even on a bank holiday they had to wait 3 hours to be seen by doctors,

Who after ruling out the rash as nothing nasty put the baby on

antibiotics for a Strep throat , which can be common they said when babys

are teething .

Anyway The granddaughter rang us to say ,babys now settled, sleeping and

eating and seems to be happy.

That news made us feel happy as well.

Hope you all have a lovely day -Take care 🙂

Been to Truro and back already this morning, as son needed a lift into work. Also stopped at The Range on my way home to pick up one or two things we needed. Now sitting with a cup of coffee before getting on with the rest of the day's chores.

Not sure what our weather is going to do as we had rain overnight, and it still looks very dark although there is blue sky and sunny spells. It's supposed to be sunny with a high of 14c, but we will see!
