All I had was the drivers name and photo's of the vans reg , he did not want to give me his address as he said it was a work issue? I phoned up DL insurance and was given a case manager who was brilliant . She arranged for the car to be picked up and taken for repair and got me a hire car the same day. To cut a long story short 3 days later my car was back as good as new and after they investigated the collision ,she sent me a letter confirming that I was not at fault therefore did not need to declare anything ,treat it as it had never happened . That is what I call good service and much better than a guy I knew who had to communicate through e-mails with a cheaper company . Nice to have a human on the end of a line when things go pear shaped . 11

Car insurance rose by more than I liked but a quick phone call knocked about £50 off the premium that made it OK. Home insurance renewed a few days ago went up by less than 5% which I didn’t feel was too bad. I accepted the rises this year, but next year, after 3 years with LV, I shall look around.
grapau27 Posted June 29 #59903 Share Posted June 29 On all insurance be it car, house or travel they want you to auto renew but we never do and always ring and get money off their quotes. Decided to pop out for a snack 😋

We haven't needed car insurance for some time now so I'm not up to date with it any longer. Avril They give no claims discount which you can pay a bit extra to protect but not loyalty. As Megabear stated, introductory discounts to get new customers are now illegal. 1
kalos Posted June 29 #59905 Share Posted June 29 Today is Armed Forces day , at the moment one of my favourite planes Eurofighter (call sign TURBO001) is circling Spurn Point ready to display at Cleethorpes soon . Anyone wanting to see this aircraft in action can tune into Coningsby Ted Armed Forces Day on YOUTUBE live from Scarborough where said jet will display at 4pm today. Must admit I was very sad when Sunderland gave up their airshow which was very popular .

Rare Eddie99 Posted June 29 #59907 Share Posted June 29 Hey all. It’s been the most beautiful of days, and continues to be a perfect early summer evening It’s Mr Ed (can’t help thinking of the blond talking horse from TV a million years ago) ‘s birthday today. Three quarters of a century 😳 We had a fabulous fishy lunch (wine was taken 🙄) Now football, sunshine and sneaky few 💤 in the chair 🙂 Food porn A sneaky Bloody Mary - almost a gazpacho starter! Mussels for me. I think the nicest I’ve ever had. All small and tender. Thyme and lemon in the liquor gave it a lovely flavour I’m so tidy (ocd?) 🙄 Skate with chorizo (why did chef give me the extra piece? Not complaining but I do look malnourished! 🙂) and a pudding! Unusual for me but hey - how often do you get to treat a sweet old pensioner to a fish birthday lunch? 🤣 Cherry chocolate pot and espresso All quiet here now! The dog will want her supper soon but apart from that, I think the kitchen is closed Have a good evening all. I hope your team wins!

kalos Posted June 30 #59914 Share Posted June 30 Morning bright dazzling sunshine with 11.c on this last day of June. I will be doing our energy meters this morning as a new lower price cap comes into play tomorrow, don't want to be charged on the higher rate. Hope you all have a good day.

Snow Hill Posted June 30 #59917 Share Posted June 30 (edited) Morning, Currently 11C with light cloud, showers forecast for later this morning. Suffering with aching shoulders and knees this morning after some gardening yesterday afternoon, can’t hack it like I used to. No need to read the meters here, as we have smart ones, plus on a fixed rate until September. Edited June 30 by Snow Hill 2

The powers that be, claim inflation is falling so in a couple of months time we will have to see what they ask for but will look elsewhere if needed. Inflation may be falling but prices in general are not, just means not rising as fast, plus much of the reduction in inflation is due to reducing energy costs, which are expected to rise again in October. Meanwhile shrinkflation is still rampant we noticed the butter we buy has gone from 250g to 200g whist price remains the same, our favourite ground coffee has gone from 420g to 400g price stayed the same, just 2 examples of the underhanded way of keeping prices down, I wonder how the ONS factor in reductions in size into their figures? My car insurance is due in October managed to keep my increase to £50, that was until after I had taken if out when the BoS decided that an accident ruled not my wife’s fault need a further £25 from me as they deemed that it need to be counted as a claim even though my wife’s insurer produced a letter stating that the was no cost to them. Needless to say I won’t be renewing with BoS this year.
yorkshirephil Posted June 30 #59919 Share Posted June 30 Sunny start here with a light breeze, quite cool. We are going to see the Grandson, partner and great Grandson later this morning, so looking forward to that. Grand Prix this afternoon and footie tonight. I see England players are banned from voting in the elections as they can't find the box and have no chance of putting a cross in it.
Rare Eddie99 Posted June 30 #59920 Share Posted June 30 What a contrast in weather between yesterday and today. Yesterday really couldn’t have been nicer, today is just really grey, with the possibility of a little rain mid-morning 😳. That will be a bit of a surprise No plans - we’ll see what turns up

The queue outside the Chinese takeaway was horrendous last night . The hold up was due to Gareth Southgate at the front of the queue. He couldn't make his mind up what he wanted alongside Rice 🙃🤣
purplesea Posted June 30 #59922 Share Posted June 30 Morning all, Not sure what our weather is going to do. We had rain overnight, and it was dull and overcast when I got up, but it looks as though it might be trying to clear up as there is a hint of blue in the sky. It's supposed to, but it is very humid. Eldest daughter said she will come over today, but have no plans. Enjoy your Sunday.
indiana123 Posted June 30 #59923 Share Posted June 30 I often crave for things and can't settle until satisfied, normally it's something like a hamburger or sausages and chips or even a certain vegetable and I thought it could be my body needs something but this last week I have been fancying a sea view, (a little sun, not too much) newspapers and a glass of wine. I managed to find a site with Scandinavian Chalets on, not cheap, but with two verandahs and a clear sea view so we are off later after popping in to a family BBQ, Just four nights but we are just going to chill. See you all soon.. behave! 😇
