Saves us having to do the rounds, we just gave them their gifts when they called here There seems to be at least one that is drinkable 🥴

Stocking up the wine rack 2-3 weeks before Christmas is a bit of a risk isn’t it?

AnnieC Posted December 19, 2020 #10858 Share Posted December 19, 2020 Press briefing by Boris, allegedly 4pm today. Believed to be about a travel ban for London and South East. What no one seems to know is if that means over Christmas or after Christmas. Anyone better informed than I?

Rare Eddie99 Posted December 19, 2020 #10860 Share Posted December 19, 2020 This was Tweeted by the Deputy Political Editor of the Sunday Times about half an hour ago BREAKING: Christmas cancelled for London, South East and East, as areas moved into new Tier 4 with “stay at home” message by law. Christmas bubbles only allowed for Tiers 1 - 3 on Xmas Day with “stay local message”. International travel not advised. Latest plan
grapau27 Posted December 19, 2020 #10861 Share Posted December 19, 2020 We had fish and chips at the city beach today as no pubs or restaurants open. We then had a walk along the promenade.

Latest plan If correct, and it concurs with what I heard on the radio at about 5am today, we could have a rather good CC party with all the stuff Tesco has just delivered for what was planned to be five people for Christmas, and now appears to be three.
Rare Eddie99 Posted December 19, 2020 #10863 Share Posted December 19, 2020 It looks nice for you Graham. We have blue skies too. Not quite as warm as yesterday but not blowing a hooley either, so all in all, an improvement

If this is what's going to happen, I appreciate it will upset a lot of people's plans, but something drastic is now required in the south east, as the virus is rampant in many areas.

Pauline was in a queue at M&S yesterday. She was talking to a lady who worked in B&M discount who said lots of university students were very aggressive because they were told to wear masks and socially distance and the store had to employ doorman to control them. These young people are the reason covid19 is spreading fast. Graham.

However, I'm also pleasantly surprised that they appear not to be dilly dallying until after Christmas. If Johnson's been hauled into work on a Saturday, it must be serious!

We’re in a support bubble with my daughter as she has an under 1 year old, and they were going to stay Christmas/Boxing Day, she’s been here 4 days a week anyway, if they are not allowed to come for Christmas, I may shed a tear or 2 but then get on with it. We need something drastic to break the cycle here.

Did you know If all the veins in your body were to be laid out in a single, straight line .... you would be dead . Also how creeping up on your missus and shouting BOO! can give her Tourette's. And Christmas day is between the 24th & 26th of December . You could sleep all through it ,pretend it never happened But .. You cannot cancel it , just like you cannot cancel a hour from now or a hour past from now . No matter what you do it will be Christmas Day ! Who employs these morons ??
Rare Eddie99 Posted December 19, 2020 #10871 Share Posted December 19, 2020 HaHa I think there was a bit of politics in that wording. At PMQs this week the PM mocked the LOTO alleging that he (LOTO) wanted to cancel Christmas Anyway

It seems to be getting out of control, so swift action is definitely needed now
jeanlyon Posted December 19, 2020 #10873 Share Posted December 19, 2020 Yes very bad where you are and London. Here in Devon, we have 56 cases per 100K, but we were at 30.
yorkshirephil Posted December 19, 2020 #10874 Share Posted December 19, 2020 T'was a week before Christmas, And all through the town, People wore masks, That covered their frown. The frown had begun Way back in the Spring, When a global pandemic Changed everything. They called it corona, But unlike the beer, It didn’t bring good times, It didn’t bring cheer. Airplanes were grounded, Travel was banned. Borders were closed Across air, sea and land. As the world entered lockdown To flatten the curve, The economy halted, And folks lost their nerve. From March to July We rode the first wave, People stayed home, They tried to behave. When summer emerged The lockdown was lifted. But away from caution, Many folks drifted. Now it’s December And cases are spiking, Wave two has arrived, Much to our disliking. It’s true that this year Has had sadness a plenty, We’ll never forget The year 2020. And just ‘round the corner - The holiday season, But why be merry? Is there even one reason? To decorate the house And put up the tree, Who will see it, No one but me. But outside my window The snow gently falls, And I think to myself, Let’s deck the halls! So, I gather the ribbon, The garland and bows, As I play those old carols, My happiness grows. Christmas is not cancelled And neither is hope. If we lean on each other, I know we can cope
