Rare h20skibum Posted January 21, 2022 #44905 Share Posted January 21, 2022 It is 3°F here this morning. Missed a lot in the last couple days. Happy birthday wishes to those who were celebrating. Continued smooth sailing to those currently onboard, and to those sailing this weekend. Hope those with family battling Covid, see some improvement soon. My daughter, SIL, and both grandkids here had it. Daughter and SIL, just had a mild cough, and both had been boosted. Granddaughter had no symptoms at all, but still tested positive. Grandson had it the worst. High temperature for nearly a week, and he ended up at Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital with some IVs to replenish fluids. Thankfully they are all better now and back to school and work. It looks like we picked the right days for our road trip home, since some of the southern states are expecting ice storms now. Today, we are off to the grocery store and getting rid of all the food in the refrigerator that expired last year. I am almost afraid to open some of those containers to see what we left in them. 9

A work colleague realised he had a python in his yard in Sydney when he discovered a rather long snake skin. This wet weather is also bringing out the leeches. Daughter & friend did an enjoyable 4K bushwalk last weekend until they looked at their legs & feet towards the end of the hike and discovered multiple leeches. Ugh. Thankfully they were wearing long pants & enclosed shoes.

Rare Lionesss Posted January 21, 2022 #44914 Share Posted January 21, 2022 Ocean boy, have a safe trip. To all those hit by COVID, continued healing. To the cold weather coming, I hate it too, but be safe. Andrew, I knew you had more interesting weather than us here in Ohio, but our schools close when the temp hits -1 or below. That is now. Schools back then would only close in a weather emergency, that is more than 8-10 inches. Or the temp was cold with a wind chill (cannot remember the exact temp). When I was in HS. my brothers and I walked 2 miles to get to school. We lived too close for the bus to pick us up, Many a day, my legs were totally chapped from the cold air chillin them as I walked, we wore uniform skirts and then the shorter the better (we were stupid). Now our district buses all students even if they live on next property to their school. That is if they want, they can walk when in HS. Be safe 6

That's great you had a wonderful b2b sailing and made it home safe and sound. I'm not ready to deal with reality and go food shopping yet. Will do tomorrow. I sure do miss walking up to WJ for breakfast and my latte this morning.
Rare Sea Dog Posted January 21, 2022 #44917 Share Posted January 21, 2022 Night 2 of SAG awards viewing. Last night we watched "Power of the Dog." It is nominated in the category of Best Actor Benedict Cumberbatch, Best Actress Kirsten Dunst, Best supporting Actor Kodi Schmidt-McPhee. Film takes place in Montana though it was filmed in New Zealand. The cinematography of NZ was amazing but that is about the only thing I cared for. Short synopsis taken from Google: A domineering rancher responds with mocking cruelty when his brother brings home a new wife and her son, until the unexpected comes to pass. The acting was really good but I just did not care for the plot. It's a very slow moving character study. At one point Linda and I were trying to find a word that described the whole movie. In one scene we were watching with subtitles (as I'm hard of hearing) and there was some music and the subtitle said "Uneasy Music." We thought that describes the whole movie "Uneasy". The soundtrack has a lot of uneasy tense music that puts you on edge the whole time. You know something is not right and something is going to happen you just don't know what. The ending was very unexpected and I won't give it away but it took me awhile to realize what had happened. So if you wanting an uneasy movie to watch this one might be for you.

Not sure where they picked it up. They were with us in the rental house in Florida, before we left on our cruise. They tested positive a couple days after flying back to Pennsylvania. We tested negative for the cruise, and again for the second leg of the trip, and we still are negative. My son and his family were there with us, so they tested and were all negative. My daughter sent them some tests from Pennsylvania, because they couldn’t find any in California. Our grandson in CA has to test weekly for school, so he continues to be negative. It is strange how this affects people differently.

Lots of garlic and anchovies would have to be tiny pieces and not to many. I want at least 3 of the ingredients above and 4 would be even better. 😀 🍕 A couple items not mentioned yet that I used a couple days ago, pesto and roasted tomatoes. It was the first time for roasted tomatoes and it was great! I make my own sauce so that is where plenty of garlic comes in. 8 hours ago, ReneeFLL said: Can obc from a price reduction be turned into cash thru the casino? Also is there an easy anyway to transfer pictures from my phone to my iPad? I much prefer posting from my iPad than my phone. That’s one of the reasons I don’t post to many pictures. While on Symphony we had obc of $1,099 through price drops. After using some I was able to cash out around $900 on a slot machine . You transfer money from your regular account to the casino account. There was a $500 limit per transfer but you are not limited to one transfer. Once transferred to the casino you can cash out any time. The money you transferred from your regular account will be covered by the obc. 6 hours ago, grapau27 said: Good morning. It is a frosty 32°F this morning. I hope everyone has a lovely day. Graham.
