Interestingly enough I noticed that the Cosmopolitan next door has balconies on almost all their rooms. Most every other hotel doesn’t.

Originally I believe it was supposed to be condos but that changed mid-way thru construction.

Originally Owen’s favourite team was the Penguins because of their goalie Marc Andre Fleury.  When Vegas picked him in the expansion draft his loyalties changed. When Vegas traded him year before last to Minnesota Owen remained loyal to Vegas as a Team, and Fleury as a person.

There is something cool about being a fan of a team from it's inception. Shhh, don't tell anybody but I'm a closet Nashville Predators fan. Except when they play the Rangers. 😉

You got it. We flew with them almost 10 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a sunset flight to the canyon and over the strip in the dark on the way back.

Today we are flying to the canyon with a quick stop in the Canyon.

@A&L_Ont I must thank you for that video of the fountains!  Not only of course the water display was amazing…but you introduced me to a Pavarotti song I hadn’t heard before, Rondine al Nido!  I remember the first time I ever heard Pavarotti sing was the Grammy Awards in 1981.  He sang Torna a Surriento and it was the most beautiful thing I’d ever heard.  His voice was unparalleled.  His Italian accent when he announced Willie Nelson as the winner for On The Road Again was hilarious.

I'm not a big opera fan, but Pavarotti's version of Nessun dorma causes me to tear up when he hits the high note at the end.  Amazing.

On a cruise recently one singer did an Aretha Franklin tribute.  She told the story of how Aretha filled in for Pavarotti once…singing Nessun Dorma.  I had no idea Aretha ever sang that!  Her version was amazing as well.

I saw that show on Celebrity Equinox and Edge. This singer (Charity Lockhart? I think) also had her daughter perform with her on one of those sailings. What a fantastic performer! I enjoyed her shows. And I never knew about Miss Aretha filling in for Pavarotti either.

Here is a bit of video from last night’s game. One of the best spots is seeing when the Knights had a goal announced and the arena goes wild and I turn and show the faces of 4 LA Kings fans. That’s at about the 2:20 mark into the video. They were so sassy in the beginning.

We have never been to a hockey game with so much enthusiasm and excitement.  Vegas definitely knows how to host a game, on top of playing it.

I had my first harvest of the season.  I clipped just enough to enjoy a fresh salad.

Nice.  You guys are several weeks ahead of us.  I just got some of my seeds in pods 2 days ago

But then again... If I had salad in my garden box, the deer I took a picture of 20 minutes ago would have that all eaten up 😉

They also seem to like our bird feeders.  There were 6 deer total in my back yard.  Technically, I do live in the Moncton city limits, but barely, Just on the edge.

Oh... and the obligatory dog photos...

We had a few 4 legged guests at the sugar shack today

@A&L_Ont my friend & her family did the helicopter tour & she complained bitterly about how disappointing it was.

I know that won’t be the experience for you.  I look forward to your photos (& possibly video).

It was spectacular.  It is unfortunate their situation wasn’t the same. We had winds no stronger than 9mph and temps in the mid 60s. There was very little wind buffering along the way too. Sounds crazy to say it, but it was one of the best chopper rides so far.  We have been blessed to be able to say that.

It was incredibly green for the dessert.  The heat is coming next week and our pilot said things will dry up quick. That said, you can see the green in the video later to come along the rivers edge.

We stopped on the journey and landed along the canyons edge for 30 minutes to take it in. Love this shot.

In 2005 we celebrated my younger son’s high school graduation with a trip out west.  One of the highlights was a one day raft trip through the Grand Canyon.  It was run by one of the Native American tribes.  They picked us up at a hotel in an old school bus which took a very rough road down to the river.  We rafted for about 3 or 4 hours, almost to lLake Mead.  Then we hiked up what seemed like a very steep mountain, but probably was just a hill.  They then took us by helicopter to an airport where we met the school bus and were returned to our cars.  I have great pictures of the walls of the canyon going up all around us.
