Quick wedding update.  Mostly going according to plan, with one sad exception. Micheline’s sister and her kids/kids in law aren’t going to make it. They were flying from Newark last night and their flight got cancelled due to weather and lack of flight crews. Tried to find alternate flights but couldn’t. The ceremony is tonight so they had to call and say they couldn’t be here. Friends of our daughter had the same problem but from another NYC airport and were able to reschedule today to Louisville then drive 2 hours. They’ll make it though. Air travel these days just sucks.

The ladies have been at the venue since 7:30 doing hair and makeup. I’m at the hotel and will hop in the shower and head there around 2:00. The wedding starts at 5:30. I can do nothing there as easily as doing nothing here. Practiced the dance yesterday with my daughter and nothing to worry about. She led for a few seconds until I figured out what she was doing. Should be good.

I’m sorry to read about the flight issues. It sucks, and there is no other way of saying it.  That said, I hope the rest of the night is spectacular.

Can anyone recommend some books/audio books I can download for the cruise.

I like murder mystery but not thrillers or anything scarey 😬

And historic novels

Phillipa Gregory for history, also Hillary Mantel

P.D. James

Reginald Hill

Maisie Dobbs series by J. Winspear

Deborah Crombie

It sure is!  It'll be here before you know it!  We fly out to Arizona on the 16th to visit my older sister and brother-in-law.  We haven't been there in years, and she wants us to meet her 4 great-grandchildren, who I only know from FB.

That sounds like a fun visit!  Wishing you & Jim safe travels and a great trip.

So that ends our sailing down the Prins Christian Sund.  Hope you enjoyed these pictures.  It was so much more breathtaking in person.  You get to take in the whole beauty of it all.  I didn’t want it to end but we had to get inside to thaw out because I was just about frozen.

Cheers!

Thank you, ladies!  Jim and I fly to Arizona next Saturday, on the 16th.  Looking forward to seeing my sister and her family...3 nieces, 2 nephews, everyone's spouse's and my sisters grandchildren who aren't away at College.

🥶 Out to watch Caden play soccer.  It's all the way down to 65⁰ ! 🥶

Enjoy Caden's game, as well as your nice, cool weather, John!!

Last night was the high school's Football game.  It was just too hot and humid for Jim and I to go to, so we watched the game on YouTube, and got to watch Ryan perform at half-time with his Marching Band.  I don't know how he could wear that uniform in this humidity..besides the long pants and jacket, they also wear the hats that are part of the uniform.

It is so nice out!  The sun is shining down keeping me warm while a mild breeze is blowing the cool weather almost like a nice ac.

Caden just scored.  Half time.  Not sure of the score but we have scored several, the other team none.

Yesterday was our port in St. John’s Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.  Our tour for the day was Iceberg Quest Ocean Tours.  We started the day with a little rain and then a full range rainbow.

See that little white spot on bottom of the mountain in the mist of the fog?  That’s a couple taking wedding pictures down there.

The waves were something fierce.  It was really difficult to hang onto the railing and camera and try to take a picture at the same time.  I thought I was going to get seasick and/or get thrown off the boat.

This is either a Minkie whale or a Mola whale, I was told by the tour guides.  They are small like dolphins and only come this far up to the surface.  There were no sightings of any whales otherwise.

Your pictures are phenomenal, Helen!  I just showed these pictures to Jim, as I said "see this is what we missed last year"  while we spent the day in the ER in St. John.  He replied, "I knew it was a bad idea to get sick"..lol!  Thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures.  I'm looking forward to your pictures of Halifax, where we spent 3 days in the hospital for Jim's emergency Gallbladder operation.  While we didn't get to see and enjoy Halifax, I must say the people in the hotel where I stayed, and everyone in the hospital, were wonderful to us.  What a friendly place Halifax is, with great people.  Enjoy your day there, Helen and Marty!  I'm guessing tomorrow is Halifax?
