As some already know from that other site that shall remain nameless, I lost my dear father very unexpectedly on April 18th. He was in good health up to the very end and would have been 88 this August. I returned home today after a week down in North Carolina, where he lived, to help my sister take care of all the "things". My sister moved down there from NJ last summer. While I am still a little bit in shock that he is gone (my mother died in 2014), I am so thankful he was living life to the fullest up to the very end and we were all together the first weekend of April for a fun filled time. My father had moved into a lovely independent living community in the fall of 2022 so he had downsized quite a bit which was very helpful this past week as were emptying his apartment. I also urge everyone to have all their important papers organized in a file for your loved ones, should anything happen unexpectedly as did for us. Even though we knew where all the "stuff" was he still had little post it notes all over his desk of passwords for his computer. 😃 We will be having a Celebration of Life in the summer down in NC for him. Very sorry. Our condolences to you and your family.

Rare A&L_Ont Posted April 29 #120307 Share Posted April 29 Before any more time passes I better finish off our weekend of sports review. At our seats they had a menu and jelly snacks waiting for us. The seats are amazingly comfy and also have phone charger ports below the table top. You can see it in the row behind ours. Some the most comfortable ball seats we have ever sat in. 😜 Much nicer than the washrooms for the masses. I wouldn’t want to think of the payroll for these 3.
Rare A&L_Ont Posted April 29 #120308 Share Posted April 29 How about some baseball food porn. We didn’t have one of every item but we probably had more than half of the items. Between the items below pop corn, peanuts and a couple hot dogs were consumed. Lisa only had the items noted below. Owen started with the Oreo snack. Yes that’s an oversized spoon. I had the lobster roll. Owen also had the chicken fingers and poutine too. Lisa had one as well. I had the brisket and Mac n cheese. Could have been better. Lisa had the strawberry parfait. While Owen had the double burger. Looked bad, tasted amazing. I had this little chocolate dessert and this Score (Canadian chocolate bar) cheese cake pop. LOL

Rare A&L_Ont Posted April 30 #120315 Share Posted April 30 Jays lost, and as it turns out the Leafs did too. That said we had a good time at both events. Lisa started in the row behind us and the isle back. After the second period Glen the usher told Lisa to join us. Owen and I only had beverages but Lisa had a proper prime rib sandwich. I might have had half and the some of the chips. During TV timeouts Sampsonov the starting goalie would come to the bench for some water and meditation. The airbrush work on the mask it amazing. At the end of the game Mitch Marner gave Owen his stick, which scored the only goal for Toronto. It brought about a lots of conversations with random folks on the walk back to the hotel. The drunks were the best. LOL
Coralc Posted April 30 #120316 Share Posted April 30 @A&L_Ont I think that if Owen ever needs extra income during his adult life, he could probably have a career in the sales of hockey sport memorabilia. Amazing! 😊

Rare ReneeFLL Posted April 30 #120325 Share Posted April 30 13 minutes ago, Coralc said: It sounds like bunion surgery. 😀 My little toe on each foot needed to be corrected. The dr didn’t mention anything about having a choice of local or general anesthesia when I had my first foot done and he did it under general. Ended up with a different dr due to a change in insurance for my second foot. He gave me the option of either one. He said he preferred the local and it sounded fine to me. I don’t remember him mentioning I would be awake. He probably did, but I probably didn’t want to think about it. He also explained what he would be doing. Part of it was that he would be using a saw like a hacksaw (his words), but a medical one. I didn’t really think much about it. Anyway, day of surgery they get me ready and drape a sheet over my stomach so I couldn’t see my feet. Needless to say, being awake I could hear the saw going to work. 🫨 I started to freak out (inwardly) and was telling them I could hear it. Dr asked if I could feel any pain. No, but I could feel him touching me. No pain, but just a light touching on my foot. Ok, no problem he says and he continues. I continue to tell him I can hear it. I guess he wasn’t that concerned since I told him I still felt no pain. It was probably after my third complaint about hearing the noise that the nurse tells the anesthesiologist that she had brought her Walkman (this was about 37 years ago) in to work. He tells her to go get it. They put that on me and I was happy I couldn’t hear the sawing, but my mind was having all kinds of visions about what was going on with my foot. If I’m ever in that position again, I’ll definitely be bringing ear plugs.
