When I wrote "suite", I was, of course, thinking about Hyacinth "Bukee" ["Keeping up appearances"], when she was eagerly awaiting a 3 pieces "suite", "the exact replica of the one in Sandringham" 😁

I think Hyacinth would have spelled it Bouquet .  We were at a birthday party to celebrate my husband’s boss’s birthday on the upper east side in NYC and sat at the same table as “ Richard’s” cousin . He assured us he was not like the character he played on TV.  That was the same event where I was standing near the boss and I heard happy birthday ,  __ ,   It was Larry King . He didn’t look at me or acknowledge me and just left. Mentioning it because of aforementioned comment about HRC being unfriendly.  They meet hundreds of people and just can’t be chatty with everyone. 

 

They didn’t want to pay Byrd the big bucks so tossed him after 25 years .

 

Jeopardy champ started every question with what because it was one less distraction of having to think about .

I just saw a rerun of that episode a couple weeks ago.    I believe that is the one where she had Richard tell the delivery truck to keep driving around the block

This thread moves along so quickly ! Since I read it this morning, three more pages have been written !

     BonTexasNY and Luckynana- regarding accents, even though I have lived on Eastern LI for thirty eight years, my Queens accent comes through very often. As they say... you can take the girl out of NY, but you can’ t take the NY out of the girl ! I think that is a good thing. Others may think differently !😉

    Dani- It seems that you have enjoyed Keeping Up Appearances. My DH and I used to laugh so much with that show ! Actually, a former sister-in-law was very much like dear Hyacinth. We endured many “candlelight suppers” at her house. Maybe that is why we got such a kick out of the show. We could relate to Mrs Bucket (aka Bouquet)😳

that's pretty common.     I have done a bunch of b2bb2b and always got emails about the next one while I was on the ship.    Guest services has you right but corporate IT people that send out their standard emails don't, no worries it just them.   Enjoy your cruise🤩

     We so enjoyed that one too!

Great that Hyacinth and Anslow were taking a turn on the dance floor together !

I think we also liked that episode as we sailed on the QE2 from NYC to Southampton in August of 2001. We will never forget that wonderful voyage and our stay in London !

I don’t even know what happened to yesterday, but we started out our day with a walk at the lake.  No pictures of that since it was a little overcast. 

 

After relaxing in the spa for a while, it was already noon.  Time to take care of some more pre-cruise things. 

 

Although we have COVID tests scheduled at CVS next week, ordered some ones to do at home as a backup.  I see they have already shipped. 
 

Checked how Southwest was doing with their flights.  We have a non-stop booked, and the one that took off today was delayed 35 minutes, but at least it took off. 😀 I will probably be checking the next few days. 

 

Since I lost a lot of weight, my wife said it was time to get a couple new ones, so they wouldn’t fall off. Bought a couple new ones. 

 

While shopping, came across these couple oddities.  

 

I didn’t remember Elvis being into trikes, but they claim this one was used for promoting his last RCA Record. 

 

 

 

Maybe those on the Edge can see if he is living his life there. 😀

 

 

Oddity #2 - Elvis’ 55 Cadillac 62 series.  I doubt this is the real deal, because his 55 was a 60 series he gave to his mother. 

 

 

 

 

 

Oddity #3 - Elvis Aaron Presley, Jr. was performing for the opening of a department store.  What, you say, Elvis didn’t have a son!!  Philip Stanick claims to be the son of Elvis, and changed his name to Elvis Jr.   I wish I would have got a picture.  I guess he needs to move on from department stores to get as famous as daddy. 😀

I forgot to specify one important element.  Those chocolate ices were Italian ices.  So refreshingly good.

I am fluent in Brooklynese.I never lost my accent.Yep,Italian ices that we bought on the boardwalk and then walked to the train.My wife also hung out on Bay 3 in her teens.
