Love all the Thanksgiving posts!

we did our first turkey trot yesterday morning with Nate’s cousin and her family. It was a fun event and the weather was great.

afterwards, my mom came over. My original intent was to order pizza. I really didn’t want to do anything at all yesterday. nate & I both needed some down time. Turns out pizza is closed on turkey day 🤣

made an emergency trip to the grocery store at 1pm and picked up frozen pizza for myself and a turkey breast, mashed potatoes & gravy for them. It all worked out in the end but I still did way more dishes than I wanted to 🙈

I woke up this morning and went shopping for a dress to my sisters wedding. Success! The mall was also empty! Obviously I’ll be more awake than this when I actually wear it!

Nice family photo.

Lovely dress.

I haven't ventured out to the stores today but have done a bunch of online shopping as our family exchanged Christmas Wish Lists last night during desert.

I heard from a friend there were people in line at 4 am to get into stores that were going to open at 5 or 6 am.     That's crazy!    plus it is really blustery outside today.     Went to do last round of leaves and work off all that food yesterday and my toes and ears were freezing.    I was only out there for about an hour.  Burrr....we didn't winterize our 2 cars that go into the garage.    Hopefully we can do that Saturday or Sunday.

Turkey, mayo and about 2 layers of pickles. The best sandwiches ever.

Do you have something to tell us?    Do you want ice cream with your pickles?

I am not sure if I would like pickles on my left over turkey but will give it try tomorrow for lunch.

Question about the Beville Oven , you have, is it the kind that has heating elements on the top and bottom so you can cook homemade pizza in. Looking to maybe buy one for a Christmas gift. How hot does your oven get?

My SIL has the Breville Smart Oven with Element IQ .   Yes, it has both top and bottom heating elements and you can set the top at high and bottom at a lower temp if you want

Our Black Frday shopping was picking up Mike's Tesla. I hate car buying because it always seems to take at least 3+ hours. Today we were in and out in less than 30 minutes. I couldn't believe it. Most everything was done on his phone.

We went from 16 to 95mph in about 10 seconds. We were on the road so we weren't at a complete stop because there were some cars a little ways back. I think I left some of my guts in the back seat. My stomach felt a little nausea afterwards. Sorry for the shaky video. We were out in the boonies so not the smoothest road.

This is the dashboard, just a computer.

I think it looks odd without the typical instrument panel.

This was the showroom. It was so bare and strange looking.

Now time to get rid of the Rubicon. At least we will have an economical car and then my Denali.

There are two Department stores around the corner from where I live. The traffic on Black Fridays is unreal. We discovered this the first year we moved here and never left the house on a Black Friday again.

Good morning 36 now but will be about 80 when we land in Ft Lauderdale, tomorrow we sail on Allure 8 day cruise eastern Caribbean, this is my 71st cruise, still have hope for my royal up bids , but we have our normal grand suite booked .

I was out at 8am this morning and it was b-r-r-r cold.  First time this season I wore a light jacket.  True to our weather, it warmed up considerably on the way home.

Have a smooth sails fun cruise.

When we were driving today I saw my first Sprouts Farmers Market. Are they like the typical grocery store or different?

Sprouts is a smallish store, not like the large supermarkets.  They have good prices on produce but sometimes their produce is not the best.  Others think it's a great store.  Before covid they used to have a great salad and soup bar.  Baked goods are all packaged.  Their no sugar added pies are tasty.  I like shopping there for summer fruit; peaches, nectarines, apricots and such.  Cherries were a major disappointment.  Small and not firm.

@singinalot

+ 1.

I'm trying to envision --- silver high heels (which can be seen if the dress will allow), definitely hair up with some random strands free, may be a nice necklace (one range of fake pearls??? [nah -- at my young age?, forget it, Dani])....🥰

When is the wedding?

Thanksgiving was wonderful and not as healthy as I feared!  Lots of side dishes and thankfully the sweet potato casserole hadf no marshmellows.  Turkey was tender and juicy.  Grilled sausage, and other yummy side dishes were plentiful.  Dessert was 3 pies, apple, pecan, pumpkin.  First 2 were home made and so good.

Apologies to Dani.  I couldn't take pictures.  We were sitting in the living room chatting, while the food was put out buffet style in the kitchen.  My niece called us into the kitchen and by the time I had my phone out the food was already being demolished!  There were 10 adults and 2 -13 year olds, my niece's twins that did the food justice!

And we remembered to tell sweet stories of my dad.  My sister and I especially enjoyed it.

For future reference, Chinese restaurants are generally open on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Christmas for sure.  Movie theaters are full! We have been going to the movies and Chinese restaurant for dinner for more years than I remember.  That is except for last year and we won't be going to the movies this year either.

No ice cream yet but I just tried the pickles on leftover turkey.  Sprinkled on a little garlic powder. It’s good.  BTW, even though Caden says I am looking like I am pregnant, I’m not.  I just like pickles and ice cream and a lot of other stuff thus the belly 😂

What's up with CC? I try to post but it says I need to log in even though I'm logged in. Then if I quote the box shows up I type then below is the rest of the thread. It's really wonky.

There are so many people I would like to respond to. I will keep on trying but this is frustrating.

@Ozark_Kid Great looking sous vide turkey. Did you season it before hand or any other prep?

Is the car equipped with "insane" mode and "ludicrous" mode?  Not sure if that's standard on all models. From what I've heard, it makes a car thar can accelerate ridiculously fast and turns them into insane drag racers.  😳

Just a quick photo and a few more later.

We may have lost in regular season to this team, but we beat them today when it really matters. 13 to 7 was the final. We had snow, ice pellets and rain and more importantly VICTORY!!!  City Champs.

Our current view less than 2 hours later. Owen’s game starts at 7 with two more, Saturday and Sunday.

It also doesn't help that my Google Fiber internet is having problems in the area. It's been this way for 3 weeks. They say they are working on the problem but I can't imagine why it is taking this long. Very frustrating also on CC making it difficult to like, quote or even post even though I'm logged in.
