So glad we purchased the cold therapy machine. I use it everyday. I’m down to once a day but I should do two. Thanks for your comments. I’m getting there slowly but surely.

One more time I will just say go easy with cold. It stiffens tissues, decreases blood flow, and delays healing. It makes people feel better because it numbs pain but it doesn't make things better. Good blood flow is absolutely essential to the healing process. And warm pliable tissue it much less prone to injury than cold stiff tissue.

The potty training is going badly. Lizzie does well during the day but at night she keeps going into the kitchen (lucky we have tile) where she either pees or poops. We are extremely frustrated. We try watching her like a hawk but she’s sneaky. Part of it is that she gets scared outside at night when it’s dark and she hears noises. Hopefully with daylight savings time this weekend she will be better. The other issue is that when they are outside they just want to run around, play and chew on sticks. It’s like they forget to do their business till they get back inside. And just as I’m typing this Linda is getting ready to take them outside and Charlie just peed on the floor ughhhhhhh!!!!

My dog was nine months old before she stopped having accidents. I think when people who have had a dog that is house broken then get a puppy they forget what it is like to start all over again. I also suspect that your present situation might be having a slight impact on your tolerance level for these accidents?🤔😉

agree with puppies, our Molly is 5 years old and absolutely understands everything we say.  She is 99% good and extremely loving, her only vice is she feels she has to defend the house so barks at anyone who comes to the house (until she meets them and then its 'love me, love me' ). But we've been helping out with our sons 6 month old Golden Retriever who is easily as big as Molly and jumps all over her.  Its a bit of a shock to go from a dog who totally does as she is told to a pup who is crazy.

How come Chris never cruised before with you? How old is he for his first cruise?

When we used to rent an occassional boat at the shore for crabbing, fishing or go out on head boats Chris almost always got sea sick.  He was afraid that he would feel like everyday on a cruise ship.  His older Brother never had any interest in anything to do with boats.

We used to do 5 or 7 day cruises once a year back then.  They would stay with their Grandparents or my Brothers family.   We got to enjoy some time without kids and they got to enjoy time with Grandparents or their cousins.

Now he's in his early 20s and is really excited!   His older Brother still has zero interest in cruising.

Sorry you couldn't convince your son that head boats are nothing like cruise ships. When they are young though hard to change their thoughts on what would happen once they get onboard. Just hesitate to try something that might make them feel bad again.

We took our son when he was younger a few times and then the last time when he graduated high school with one of his friends.

He is 32 now and has not cruised since that graduation cruise. He just never had the interest like my wife and I since then.

Before cruising though we were all Disney People, we used to go 3  times a year to Disney and had time shares down there at Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Orange Lake Resort and belonged to Old Key West in Disney.

Our son enjoyed those vacations much more then any cruise he went on.

On Survivor I like that they did season 41 and 42 back-to-back so that this group hasn't seen any of the new twists.  Big fun!  Don't know who my favorite is yet, maybe the fire fighter.

When the three people went to the island and climbed to the top, I said Lisa it would be awesome if they had a challenge right there. The loser would go home and wouldn’t return to their tribe. That would’ve been an amazing twist to Survivor.

Good luck ! As Lee Trevino says,

“If you're caught on a golf course during a storm and are afraid of lightning, hold up a 1-iron. Not even God can hit a 1-iron."

We didn't need a 1-iron, but we did get evacuated off the course a little after 2:00pm.  What looked like a nasty storm was blowing through.  Turned out that it was just a bit of strong wind and rain that went through quickly, but they don't mess around with weather during golf tournaments.  Too many bad incidents in the past.

We had a good day up to that point though.  It's an absolutely gorgeous and treacherous course at the same time.  I've played the Stadium Course 3 times and it's probably the most difficult course that I've ever played (just ahead of the Ocean Course at Kiawah).  Practice rounds are very casual.  Pros typically hit a tee shot and an approach shot to the green, but then spend several minutes chipping and putting to/from various places around the green.  Many greens will have a location where players will typically end up after their second shot, and they will practice putting/chipping from there to where they know the flag will be located on the 4 different days of play.

I didn't take a lot of pictures but captured a few.  Sorry for the haziness.  I think I had some suntan lotion on my phone's camera lens.

Scottie Scheffler (won last week at Arnie's tournament), Cameron Young, Webb Simpson, and Bubba Watson waiting to tee off at the par 3 third hole.

Before Deane Beman we always had a Pro-Am. That was fun for everyone.
The pros were as loose as the locals, and there was a lot of byplay.
I remember one year when Sam Snead got fed up and yelled that golf was a serious business, and not meant to be fun!!

facts

So, yesterday I saw this post on my iPad while I was waiting in the student pickup line at my granddaughter's school.  It triggered a memory of almost 50 years ago, when I went (maybe trespassed) there with friends.  The bridge was built, but the road that would cross it was not complete.  I'm not sure how we got up to the bridge, but we did, and we climbed part way down the hill on one side of the land and hung out for a while.  I remember it being a spectacular sight.

I Googled the bridge to make sure I was thinking about the same one.  I found the National Park Service website, and confirmed it was indeed the one I had been to.  I hadn't thought about that bridge in many years, but about 8 hours after I read that post, I was watching a recorded America Idol show, and lo and behold, they had a contestant from West Virginia and in her back story they showed a picture of that bridge.  I immediately paused the show, grabbed my iPad and showed Andy the still-opened web page about the bridge.  How could it be that I would have that web page open on my iPad when the picture of the bridge flashed on the tv screen???? Coincidences like that amaze me to no end!

I was surprised when Survivor started last night, I thought it started next week, oh well I was happy it is back.

A couple thoughts.

In regards for the first person who left (do not want to ruin the show if anyone hasn't seen it yet).

You mean to tell me their "issues" were not identified with the rigorous interviews and pre-screening that the show entails.  I mean come on.  It had to happen so that person was the first one off....................probably for TV hype.

Okay, I must be the only one that makes a bad first opinion of who I would like voted off like NOW!!!

Others pick their winners, some people do not belong to be on Survivor, (well yea, like me).

But, the selection committee must pick some of the players for drama, and not social skills.

I know they all want the money and will do anything to earn the title of 'Survivor", but for me too early to pick my favorite.

I will stick with picking the looser for now.

Take care.

I must admit we did enjoy having our own little break of cruising without the kids and they always had fun staying with other family so that made it easier for us to not feel guilty they weren't with us.

Thank you, Arzeena and Dani.  Jim and I disembarked on Monday morning, to the easiest embarkation ever!  Face recognition is wonderful!

We arrived at the ship at our appointed time (12:30) and  were delighted to see there were no long lines.  We proceeded to an agent who took our picture, and pictures of our passport and vaccination cards.  We were then told to just get onto the ship!!  I had the Celebrity app on my phone, and while on the bus to the ship, I completed our mandatory life board drill.  Easy peasy, even for someone who is not very savvy (as you all pretty much know by now).

This was our third time on the Silhouette;  it's always been a pleasure to be on board, but this time was super special, since our last cruise was in November, 2019.

Mask wearing was optional, except for in the Casino and Theater, where they asked that it be worn there.  The four of us, Jim and our two traveling buddies, wore our mask in the Theater.  Some guests had them on also, but not too many.  By day two, hardly anyone had one on.  I must say, we also stopped wearing them.  The entire crew had to wear their masks, many of them wearing two.

The Captain said that on the two cruises prior to ours, there was not one person with Covid.  Not one crew member or guests.  Great news!!  About halfway through our cruise, the Captain announced that one guest had come down with Covid.  Enough said on that subject.

The entire crew, the entertainment, the Celebrity singers, dancers, band, and featured entertainers, were awesome!!!

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed your crusie. We board end of March.

Yes, I liked it better there then our timeshare at Old Key West in Disney. Much more laid back rather then being on Disney Property.

I am running out of things to do in Cartagena. Every thing I am looking at is like a BTDT. So please help me pick the best BTDT for a repeat. 😁

I told DH there is always just good old shopping for the green stone.......so he is now in panic mode to pick some excursion.☺️

Maybe a private excursion?

Maybe the website for Shore Excursions Group?

I don’t know the danger level any more.

I always wanted to get out of the city and see a little of the countryside, but never had the nerve.

When we potty trained we always took them out on a leash so they couldn't play. And constantly said, Bailey go potty. Bailey go potty. Bailey go poop. Kept the mantra up until they did something. And then they got a treat and praise.

It did take a few months till they got it.

We did that for awhile. We may need to revisit. Thank you for your thoughts.

You could try crating in the evening.... at least until she gets the idea of not peeing indoors at night.

We have a larger crate in the living room for when we leave the house and not to confuse them with their nighttime crate in the master bedroom. I want them to feel like they can be with us and snuggle without always being in the crate. Got to find the right balance. Part of it is that we need to do better is finding a way for them to be better at letting us know when they need to go. The bell strap on the door isn’t working as well as we would like.

I always wondered about that. Heat always seems to feel better. In therapy we always start out with heat then cold at the end. I will take your advice as I respect you immensely. Heat in the morning, cold after I exercise then maybe some more heat at night before bedtime.

Last night I started to go into a panic attack as I wasn’t in pain so much but my leg had that restless leg feeling. No matter what position I laid in I could not get comfortable. I started to panic. Finally took a Tramadol to knock me out. I may stop the Tramadol and switch to Benadryl at night to help me sleep. Doctor says this is not uncommon.

Glad you were safe and had a great time. I’m always at awe seeing the pros play. Tom Watson is our local pro who I’ve spent a long time covering. He used to have a charity golf tournament every year to benefit a local children’s hospital. Every year I would get to interview and shoot video of pros like, Jack Nicholas, Lee Trevino, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Gary Player and many others. It was amazing to see how long and far and accurate they drive. I once videotaped Lee Trevino who’s ball was behind a tree and about 100 yards from a uphill green hit and hooked the ball and landed it 3 feet from the hole . Amazing!
