We got our refund back in 24 days.I think it depends on who you speak to when you call to request the refund.

Nah just luck. We didnt speak to anyone. Did it via the cancelation email royal sent us. We got our refund on day 30. Never spoke to a soul.

I have not been able to keep up with reading with all of the thousands of posts on dozens of websites of people owed money by some type of travel industry entity.

The comments have been expanding since mid-March, and some are extremely angry and bitter, which is really bad for one's health, and mental state, and resolves nothing. Also, who is really reading those comments except other travelers? NOT the travel industry workers, who are hanging on by a thread.

Okay, I am still short of the 90 days for my RC refund, and I will just wait it out.  I have not yet bothered to try to call because I do not feel like waiting on a phone for multiple hours, but more power to those who do so.

I waited out my airlines until they canceled (the day before the flight!) and was able to get a full refund.

I will apply my China tour credit to a future trip in 2021.

Sometimes for variety I read all the comments from people waiting for their stimulus checks.  Many of those folks are very, very poor, have never dreamed of cruising, and their comments can make you cry.

Patience, empathy and kindness are most helpful in times of extreme chaos.

I do believe some believe it entitles them to priority refunds.

You refer to a C&A member status but forgot the few stiff upper suite guests if you know what/whom I mean.

Waiting for refunds for 3 RCCL cancelled cruises. Requested the refunds 24March and got limited partial refunds after 47 days. One cruise taxes/fees still missing, for all 3 cruises missing rest refunds in the high 3 digit numbers. Other than cruise fare, no miscellaneous expenses booked

Really...... Where has anyone suggested Suites get refund priority?  I sure have seen more than a few mention their C&A status in regards to refunds.

Why do you think Suites are stiff upper guests?

I see those refunds taking the same amount of time, as they are for even more money.

Did any C&A requested or stated that they should get priority refunding? No. Only you implied it in post #37 in order to heat up  the discussion. For the few suites, again,  you know exactly who I mean....

Guess I'm just lucky.  Refund for an April cruise cancelled by COVID-19 took 40 calendar days.  Refund in early May for a deposit on a 2021 refundable booking took just 12 days.

I'd be upset too if it took 70+ days.

I must be one of the lucky ones! Had a cruise canceled by RCI in March and 60 days later, everything owed to me was put back on my credit card. Never got an email but amount on card was all correct......cruise, port fees, insurance, deposit , shore excursions and beverage package! Turned around and put deposit down for another try next May. These are stressful times as it is, don't add more to your life.......they will refund it.

Was the May cruise (refunded in 12 days) booked with an online TA?  I book directly with the cruise line 95% of the time, but had two booked through online agencies that I had to cancel.  I received one refund in four days (cancelled on March 28), and the other (cancelled on May 13) in eight days.  Both of those were deposits only, I wonder if that is the key to a quick refund?

My April cruise was direct, my 2021 cruise cancelled in May through a TA.

I think the early refund/cancel process was messed up.  The process was streamlined so new cancellations are working out better.   The early ones that are messed up need a lot of labor to manually go through on a booking by booking basis so those are taking very long times to get sorted out.  Just a hunch, no inside knowledge or proof.

When someone mentions status, I usually take it to mean that they are a frequent cruiser, a loyal customer and well versed in cruising policy and procedures, which lends validity to their complaint vs a disgruntled/inexperienced newcomer.

Key word is usually. I'm sure there are some that think they deserve special attention or just like to brag.

In my opinion.

All I need is the $200 Next Cruise I used on the canceled cruise to be applied toward the one I just switched to.  He insisted on a new booking number and another $100 of my money for deposit.....and now it looks like we will have already cruised (or NOT) by the time they get it to me!!!!!!!  But its only been 3 weeks since the cancellation....so I will be patient.  I just hope we get to cruise
