I should be in Canada today, celebrating with all the Canadians. I'm missing the yellow duck drop from the Nestor Falls Dam in Ontario. so much fun. Hope you all have a safe and happy 153rd Birthday. Catch a fish for me.

What's the traditional food fare on Canada Day?  Hot dogs?

When I lived in Nova Scotia it was lobster... here in Ontario seems to be BBQ.

Thanks for the well wishes from our friends to the south.

For a short while it looked like we were going to live up to our nick name of the Wet Coast but so far it's holding off, that being said wait 5 minutes.....

I enjoyed poutine with my A&W burger for lunch.

I'm not sure that there is any traditional Canada Day food, although with the summer weather, BBQ'd something or other is popular everywhere. We are actually having hot dogs tonight, a little break after king crab last night and before lobster tomorrow. Our local grocery store has had excellent seafood prices and, as former Nova Scotians, there's (almost) no limit to the amount of lobster I'll steam for us! :classic_biggrin:🦞

Sounds wonderful...lobster and crab, that is.  Enjoy!!

We will have hot dogs with chili and southern caviar, with corn on the cob and banana pudding for dessert.

LOL.. I don't think that hot dogs are traditional foods fare for anything except kids b-day barbecues or American ball games. We always barbecue or picnic and families have their own traditions. Many here in Nova Scotia end the meal with strawberry shortcake as it is prime strawberry season

Does July 4th have a traditional food?

THANKS Southern Neighhbours!  We enjoyed our Canada Day here in London (Ontario)...a nice drive in the country, lunch at a golf club we've never been to before, and BBQ on the patio for dinner....fireworks all around the neighbourhood around 10pm....great day.  Wishing all of our US posters a wonderful July 4th!

Love strawberry shortcake!  Yes, typical 4th celebration includes burgers and dogs. Certainly BBQ is pretty popular. Apple pie, ice cream, lots of cold salads. Definitely beer! 🍺

The best and most famous hot dogs were served at the old Montreal Forum. Nothing like going to a game there , having 2-3 hot dogs and watching the Canadiens beat the Leafs . Much better than the chocolate covered strawberries we pay $ 1000's for on a cruise.

Glad you all had fireworks. No such luck for us this year. All fireworks displays are cancelled. 😔
