If you could never cruise again, what would you do in place of it?

Hopefully you have a place to park this when not in use....A&L_Ont

There’s inside storage for all three here with space left over. I tried to up-sell it to Lisa that way too.

It’s hard to up-sell when one is laughing.  Unfortunately, if I brought them home I might never get to return. 😂

Well, considering this week's highlight was going through El Pollo Loco's drive-through for a burrito, whatever we do when things open up has to be an improvement.   😄

This is 20 minutes from my house.  Tybee Island.  Not the Caribbean, but it works for us.

We live on Hilton Head Island and get the same view. You just can't beat the islands along Georgia and South Carolina, well except for the beaches along the Treasure coast of Florida........

I would do Playa del Carmen/Cozumel/Cancun all inclusives.  I would also go to St Lucia which is my favorite cruise port.

We stayed at Aventura Spa Palace about 15 years ago for an incentive trip for my husband.  I loved it and DH had lots of buddies around.  It's now, according to the web, Hard Rock Riviera Maya.   Great rooms, thought the food was good but dinners were with our group -- loved all the free booze. Does anyone know anything about it now that it's Hard Rock?

I could see the ships docked in Cozumel -- I think one Carnival and Voyager class (Oasis class not out yet).

Also, are there any other Riviera Maya all inclusive that folks recommend?

If cruising ends, we will be looking at timeshare rentals at specific Caribbean destinations we want to visit. We will also look more to the some of the National Parks and wonders here in the US. Since my wife doesn't camp, we have to find resorts.

Hope you don't mean a timeshare purchase. That's a whole other story and not, by most all accounts, a very pretty one.

No, not at all. We rent from timeshare owners for pennies on the dollar. Insane deals you can get from other owners.

I would do more land-based vacations. I would probably see a lot less islands outside of the US. I'm sure I would do an AI here and there. However, it is far more practical, cost-effective, and convenient to see these on a cruise. I can cruise multiple times per year and it's nothing. Going to multiple AIs is a lot more money.

Is there a good website for looking at timeshare being rented by owners?

I may well be done with cursing.  Just got back yesterday from a land based vacation in Banff.  Had a fantastic time.

No more getting back to the ship at a scheduled time.  I was on my own scheduled and loved it!!!!!!

We don’t have an answer for the OP’s question yet. With elderly parents, kids visitations, and busy careers we didn’t get to travel much for so many years and so have been catching up the past 3 years. We love cruises since we can travel relatively far and wide while unpacking once and there are beautiful views, new friends, and fun on the way to each new location.  There is nothing that replaces that in total.

I really hate long flights and avoid them whenever possible (we all have something we don’t like, that is mine); but we are well located for all eastern cruise ports so it’s less than a 2 hours flight to all.  But we both still have full-time careers (and  that will be the case for at least the next 6-7 years) and so the time we have for travel is not completely opened.  I hope that cruising will resume, even if in 2021, as it will truly be a big loss for us if it doesn’t.

I just seen one in an article and went to look for it. Why is it it takes forever to find something again that you just saw? 😫 But the 3rd time through I finally found it!  The articles suggests the websites for TRADING PLACES INTERNATIONAL and REDWEEK .  Note this is for discounted unused time.

These aren't timeshares, but vacation rental homes.  Homeaway, and one of the biggest is Vacation Rental By Owner or VRBO.  Marriott also rents homes in some popular vacation locations, like, Florida, Hawai, Colorado, you can find them on their website as if you are looking for a hotel room.

I stayed in a VRBO in Destin, FL which was two blocks away from the beach.

figured nearing retirement years and the cruise must go on, we usually cruised 4-5 times a year and had planned to up that to monthly sailings so if RCL and other lines are not sailing we will be

inked a deal on a 72' Viking SF "hole in the water" has it all from an OS to GS to 2 JS's and lower inside cabins, sky lounge to alfresco mezzanine cockpit seating all with no wait to be seated due to chair hogs. Ashtrays aplenty, only lacks Club Royale but casinos galore at many of the ports we will be hailing. Thirsty diesels will pass any RCL ship afloat, a future Panama Canal cruise with a final destination of Costs Rica (Los Suenos) is being planned for 2021-22.

the motto we will have aboard is "Saltwater Rusts ~ Alcohol Preserves"...cheers

Sounds like a great plan.
