Same! I also don’t care for food from the U.K.  I find so many of their food to be very bland.

Food is always very subjective!

I guess that is why the WJ has various stations. Even then you can not please all the people all the time.

I agree...on some ships there's been Indian food every night taking up a whole station in the WJ....eek. no thanks.

That's the beauty of the WJ....there is something for everyone.

Also this is the most Off Topic thread ever. Should get some type of award.LOL

LOL.  But it is a refreshing change to talk about cruising vs Covid-19.

Now, as soon as anyone mentions Masks, social distance, stay at home orders, daily case counts in Florida/Texas or NYC crime stats, expect the thread to be locked down.

Opps!

🤪😇

Agree, so maybe they should be separate topics instead of what it is on this original thread.

LOL

Thank goodness there are many stations so we can have a variety of choices.

Ours was a tiny upper/lower inside on Carnivale. It was a few years before we tried again

First, and only, time I booked an inside cabin (Big Red Boat) was out of PC.  Hated it!!  Kept having to get dressed and run up to the deck to see where we were, and what the weather was like.  Very claustrophobic (IMHO) for me as well, felt like sleeping in a cave.

However, many people swear by them.  Just not for me.

We agree!

We love the stir fry.  That will be our whole meal.  It was sometimes called "Mongolian Barbecue."  On some ships, it is only once or twice a week.  We will always ask and usually have to ask a few of the crew before getting an answer.

I love the "make your own Pizza" night too!  😋

The Hotel Director is who you want to eat with.

They generally have very good taste in wine😉🍷

I second that...was not going to mention it...but totally agree!   🤗

Our favorite dinner with the HDs...Robert Taggert from Vancouver (Radiance Alaska) and JD on MJ (and enjoyed one night with Yogimax 😉 ).  Great times, great wine, interesting conversations.  🙂

Well, several are Jamaican, and they can't make a decent beef patty to save their lives😉🤣🤣

Oh man...now you have me hungry for one of those.  We love the little bakery down town near the fountain in Falmouth called "Spicey Nice".   Yums!

No one is cruising any more....human nature.  Better than talking about Covid, refunds, cancellations...etc.  😉

Not totally true there is a ship in Germany cruising, if you go to Celebrity there is a tread with over 15,000 views on it . Agree it’s almost rare for us to stay in topic .

I completely forgot about the magic, domed zip code.  Posts originating from there were a sure-fire way to get a thread deleted.

Back on topic: Can't we all get along? After all, we all put out pants on one leg at a time.🙂

Why is a TUI live review on the Celebrity board?

But isn’t this comparison similar to those that say D+ or Pinnacle’s only book insides?  That’s equally as bad. It’s just not true.

Actually, I believe it’s very possible that many book a suite after traveling in other cabins and once they do, will not go back. That was our situation. We typically booked balconies until we were on Majesty OV. The cabin steward gave us a tour of a GS onboard and from then on, we were hooked.

M8

We were upgraded to a GS on one of our Explorer cruises , after that there was no going back to an inside stateroom. 🙂

Cheers!

Hahahahaha. I dont like Italian or pasta.

I'm told the top chef on ships is pretty much always indian. Dont know why. But that's why they cook Indian.

I think it boils down to what you are used to at home. I think the Italian food on cruise ships is a step above Olive Garden, especially the eggplant parmesan but I grew up with my grandmothers home made pasta the tomato sauce made from tomatoes.  I like the sushi and and asian/ Indian dishes but I bet the Asians consider it fast food.

You know I did that big red boat I'm almost sure at least 3 or 4 times. Maybe not ..the one I took left from around palm beach. Had a day cruise got back around midnight and a night cruise, pretty much geared to gambling. That was the only cruising I did until I quit my job and moved back to texas and had more time on my hands. Went to bikini once with them and at least 3 to whichever island Nassau is on where they had a gambling casino they took you to there. Or you could do the beach.

There was almost nothing on bimini. One restaurant and a bar. Wound up at the bar where they did a wet tee shirt contest. They had 3 girls obviously ringers, and one real pax. We pulled for the real girls not the pros, but one of the pros won. I am sure they paid those girls to cruise with us. Obviously pros.

Oh how times have changed. Wet the shirt contests .... oh horrors.

I like Asian and indian and sushi. I love raw fish if its fresh. I got some as a appetizer in the pay for Italian restaurant before. They said previously frozen. I lived in Hawaii and I guess I'm spoiled for fresh raw fish, not frozen. Just went for sushi 2 days ago. It's like candy so good here.

I pay the money, I cruise. People are who they are on land or at sea. Don't care if you are Pinnacle or newbie. You paid for loyality perks over time.  Suite guests pay for amenities each cruise so they aren't free. Chill. Don't brag or complain.
