Possibly, at around Noon departure, the bridge forward cam on the Norwegian Jade might give a clear view of MSC Grandiosa leaving.

Agreed. we found the Meraviglia to be the cleanest ship we have sailed as well.

OK so it was 8 pm and perhaps most were eating, but there didn’t look to be many passengers watching the sailaway.  I would love to be on an empty ship!!!

Lots of optimism regarding this cruise but I cannot help but think that it may end badly when all is said and done. We unfortunately had a Viking (Iceland) cruise cancelled in July of this year and additionally cancelled another Viking cruise of our own volition which was scheduled for April of 2021. Will wait until a vaccine is proven and available before taking another cruise.

I agree with you. I wish these cruisers best of luck & health, but I'm also waiting for "time of the vaccone". Godspeed MSC. 🙏☘

Good luck to all, our Golden Wedding cruise on MSC Musica on 30 August  from Venice finally cancelled last week, we knew it wouldn't happen !
A huge sigh of relief for us, we didn't want to defer etc, settled for a cottage in Derbyshire UK, far safer and more relaxed :-)
We enjoyed our last MSC cruise, can't see us cruising for some time now.

I'm suspicious of the nice round number 1,000.   BUT my main interest was finding how many passengers were actually on the ship.  1,000 is close enough.   Cruise writers seem to believe whatever the cruise line tells them or they misinterpret the cruise line saying they will only board 50% capacity so the writer will use that number as actually boarding.  Those passenger numbers seemed impossible in this environment.

Ate may be able to help with this, but several news articles indicated there would also be passenger embarkations at two other ports.  From an original source, the passenger count was published at 1,500.  However, such can only be clarified with the same source data by port that Ate gave for Genoa.

I’ve also read about approximately 1,500 passengers.  It‘s probably difficult to say exactly because it looks like the guests can embark and disembark in all 4 Italian ports, so it can be variable.

Correct..typically MSC does embarkations at many Med ports..So you could do a 4 night for example and get on in one port and off in another...or do a RT for a week.  It is not like the Caribbean loops.
