Who else is booked on a November 2020 cruise?

Could be, it's a 3 night.  I have never done a cruise that short, so I figured it was a Covid thing??  Who knows!  I just keep hoping they will make the next announcement prior to 9/13 so I don't have to decide to pay final or not! 🙂

Haven't done a short cruise in years myself...used to do them when I had limited time off.  Indeed it apparently seems the shorter cruises have a more congenial final payoff date that is closer to actual sail date.

With what is going on right now, and all the uncertainty...I sure wish RCI would make all booked cruises as 30 day prior payoff time...would be much less hassle than having to turn around and beg for a refund.  Especially when they seem to follow cancelling cruises just AFTER final payment.  😠

We are booked on Freedom on Nov 22nd, we are 75 days out and I made final payment 3 weeks ago.  As of now I have finalized all of the check in but I have not been given a time for boarding or tickets.  I believe this happens at about 60 days out.

Currently Freedom is off the coast of Barbados and I just can't see San Juan Puerto Rico port opening.

I’m on Allure on 11/22 and was able to pick boarding time last week

Just decided to L&S our 11/15 Oasis cruise to next year. New sail date will be 11/7/21. So incredibly bummed, but also want to make it a special experience, as it’s a mother/son cruise for me and my youngest boy. The plus side is that he will be old enough for the teen club, and tall enough to ride stand up on the Flowrider by next year. (He’s a short fellow at present.).

We are booked for a free casino cruise on 11/1 Harmony.  We paid for a few cruise planner items.  I considered cancelling them just so I wouldn't have to wait for a refund.  I had a 3/16 cruise cancelled and went through a very long wait for FCC's and refunds.  However, we really do hope this cruise goes so we decided to not to cancel the cruise planner items.

Well that would be an excellent idea!  I wish they would take your suggestion!  We paid our final for Harmony 10/20 only to be cancelled shortly thereafter, didn't have a lot of money tied up in that one though since we used FCC from our cancelled Adventure March sailing for the final.  We booked this November on a whim when the others were cancelled thinking things would be normal by fall, we were a little too optimistic.  I work for the school system and have a daughter in elementary school so for now we are tied to school breaks so the 3 night after Thanksgiving just worked for our schedule.  We have the Mariner booked again for 4 nights over spring break which is short too but my daughter has a dance competition the first weekend of our break so we couldn't leave until Monday.  We have talked several other dance families into going with us so keeping my fingers crossed for that one for sure! I have spent countless hours trying to track down money owed, money returned, just like everyone else.  It would also be nice if they would let you know which reservation the credit is tied to.  The way they return money it is next to impossible to keep it all straight.  We have had 5 cruises cancelled some booked with an agent, some direct with more than 1 cabin booked so I am managing mine, my friends and my mom's and they are all on my credit card.  The agent booked ones Royal will not even tell me if the credit goes with those reservations.  It is just a big hot mess.  At this point I just hope the March trip goes and we won't be booking anything else until ships sail successfully.  We are just going to try for the beach next month for fall break at least we will see water!

Good luck to you!  I hope you sail soon.

Final payment on 3 & 4 night cruises is due 75 days before sail date.  It's 90 days for 5 days or longer.

Good to know. I don't think we have ever done less than 5 nights so I thought they were all 90 days and this was just shorter because of some Covid policy change.  We have a 4 night scheduled for spring break so I am glad to hear we have a little extra time for final.  I am getting weary of paying and then waiting on refunds 😞

Before I retired, we did a lot of 3 and 4 night cruises due to work schedules.  Was better than no cruising..and enjoyed every one of them!  🙂

Good luck to you and your family to make the cruises booked, and good luck to your daughter on her dance competition!

We  just booked 11/20 on Navigator on the hopes it will go.  if it doesn't we will just have another FCC to use, but really hoping we get to go.  Also have 2 for Dec and praying they both go.

Dan and I are in the minority.  We prefer the 3/4 day cruises even though we are retired.  After 3/4 days of drinking and eating we are ready to go home.  WIMPS!!!😇

We have a long drive (or a flight) home so if we do a short cruise we try to do a B2B or longer.   Too far to drive or fly for 3 days. We did it years ago when we were younger and had to accommodate work and family schedules.

Well yes! Because you can drive home. :classic_rolleyes: We felt that way about the West Coast cruises from Southern California.

There is  no good and bad length of cruises...only bad when we can't cruise.  😮

Hoping to see you on Harmony soon...hoping.  🙂

You may have been closer back in the day.

I'm further out than Ellen, now

Yeah, but only on part time basis.  You still have your base there.  🙂

I remember fondly hearing the ship's horns blaring for sail away...out in the backyard pool when we lived on Merritt Island.  And wishing we were on board when we heard them.

Now it takes 20 minutes to get to the port, having to drive our vehicle.  When we lived so close...we just called a taxi for the short trip. 😉

Hello everyone. We are booked on the Ovation scheduled to leave Sydney on 11/16/2020. If Royal cancels the cruise, any guess to how soon or late they will do so? Our airline tickets on American Airlines were cancelled by the Airline and we received our refund. We are trying to not cancel our cruise because we would like to have the 125% FCC to apply towards cruises in 2021. If the cruise does happen, we will go ahead and do so about a week in advance. If anyone has any insight, it would be appreciated. Thanks!

Australian Government has a ban on cruise ships till 17th December 2020.

We have Singapore to Brisbane Radiance and Sydney / South Pacific Voyeger both in November and RCI has yet to cancel either .

Have called RCI ,there was no wait, they said that they were aware of the Government position and to be patient.

Waiting here as well.....

I had a NRD for our TP cruise from Hawaii to Sydney on 27 Sept, 2020.  To avoid paying final but not losing our NRD I moved the deposit to a 3n cruise departing Sydney 13 Nov, 2020.  I paid final on this one as it was only 1K compared to paying out 10K on the other one.

As Hogbay mentioned above, Govt has extended the ban.  Royal is very well aware of this because the next day they removed all the Australian cruises on the site prior to 17 December.

I have still not been notified my cruise is cancelled.  They are being very slow and dragging their feet about updating their website, which still says Australian cruises suspended till 31 October I believe.

Obviously they are delaying as long as possible before having to offer refunds for these cancelled cruises.

Hoping it will be very soon as I am waiting to see if they will refund my whole 1K payment as a full cash refund now which is what I'm hoping for, waiting waiting.........

Yikes!  I have already convinced myself my 2/10/21 out of Sydney probably won't happen.  😮

Our check-in time for Explorer from Miami on November 29th is from noon to 3pm. No Key here. We are now just waiting to see if the *** lady sings her swan song or welcome cruisers!! Cheers!!

It's to early to think of this, likely the cruise will not happen and should a miracle happen the whole check in process will likely be updated again with many more time slots spreading out the check in process over a longer period etc.

really curious when an announcement will be made. Hopefully by the end of next week. Feel bad for anyone with a cruise in early November and still don't know if they are going or not. I have a cruise in January and the final payment is Oct. 30. Would like to know what the situation is before final payment is due.

So would we all, for every upcoming booked cruise.  😞   I am not so worried, even though I am pretty sure my 11/29 will be cancelled.  I have no flights or hotel stays tied to it to cancel.
