Canal archive Posted February 11, 2021 #2476 Share Posted February 11, 2021 (edited) Okay slept in this morning really frosty here. I’d like - river - city and names if possible. During our cruises with Scenic we’ve had some superb tour guides and I remember this one was especially ‘off the wall’. CA yippee!! or wow 100 pages. Rare notamermaid Posted February 11, 2021 Author #2478 Share Posted February 11, 2021 A late good morning to you! After 11am here.... An utterance of joy and excitement on seeing the 100 on the thread page count. But first things first, celebration when I am back at the computer. I know these two gentlemen, when I realized the blackboard is at a pub door in the old town of the city whose bells you can hear in the Netherlands according to dumbfounded Dutchmen ( @Renmar I love the expression), it was easy. But I am not going to say... In that area on the Rhine it hardly gets any more iconic than those two talking to each other. notamermaid
dogs4fun Posted February 11, 2021 #2479 Share Posted February 11, 2021 (edited) Rhine, Cologne. These characters are Tünnes and Schäl from the Hänneschen-Theater (we were told we could touch them for good luck). If correct, I will call another wild card. Rare notamermaid Posted February 11, 2021 Author #2486 Share Posted February 11, 2021 The photo. I was thinking: "How is the guy going to fill so many dishes with so little food that he is preparing?" So, this is either a fancy food tasting session or he is preparing confectionery. I say a patisserie anywhere in France. notamermaid
Canal archive Posted February 12, 2021 #2487 Share Posted February 12, 2021 Notamermaid nearly there, some of you foodies or gastronomics put your thinking hats on. You just need the river, city and site now. CA
Rare notamermaid Posted February 12, 2021 Author #2488 Share Posted February 12, 2021 Right, enee, menee, minee, mow... the Rhone? notamermaid P.S. I know the rhyme is not spelled correctly and the autocorrect was trying hard to tell me what to do, but I have beaten it into submission.
Rare notamermaid Posted February 12, 2021 Author #2489 Share Posted February 12, 2021 @Host Jazzbeau this is weird with that number 2476, it appears again. It will go with refreshing, but a quirky software thing! Thanks for the 2500 thing @Renmar, will need Jazzbeau's assistance perhaps, which he has kindly offered, counter might jump during the night and I just cannot write bleary-eyed at 8am... notamermaid

Canal archive Posted February 12, 2021 #2495 Share Posted February 12, 2021 This was on our first South of France cruise and the weather just got hotter and hotter. The tour of the institute was excellent and I would do it again. My DH bought me a recipe book, I do collect them, I must admit to not making anything from it but have picked up loads of ideas. Rare jpalbny Posted February 12, 2021 #2496 Share Posted February 12, 2021 I haven't been there but it was an option on our Rhône cruise. So it was a bit of mind reading, and hoping that CA would post the obvious and not the obscure. Here's one. Not a river cruise port, but it's where you must meet up to take a certain river cruise. City, place, and what river cruise?

Rare notamermaid Posted February 12, 2021 Author #2500 Share Posted February 12, 2021 2500! Let us celebrate with full fireworks and (a somewhat modern) Beethoven.
