Yes I know it is the discretion of the LA, but quite honestly I’ve never heard of anyone on a back to back or more, not receiving the benefits of the next category on the cruise immediately following the new tier. The LA knows your points going into the cruise, they know that you just completed a certain number of points, and they can do the easy math and print new cards for the new tier and make sure that you receive all the benefits.   Even if you don’t get to  a new tier, this is certainly beneficial to those D+ who reach the level of getting an additional amenity.

Are you saying it is too hard for the loyalty ambassador to figure it out?   I doubt it.

Something tells me that anyone who is moving up to another tier or becomes eligible for an additional amenity  after a first leg of a B2B knows the math  pretty well and can help the LA out.  The passenger should definitely receive the benefits on the next cruise. Doesn’t  make any difference if that next cruise is in six months or the same day.

And in my example, I am not referring to pinnacle,  which  you know which, is generally awarded on the cruise in which the 700 ( or every 350 ) point is achieved.

I always let the LA know at the beginning of a cruise that I will earn a block during the cruise.  I was not acknowledged on the cruise that I made 700, but I was on the cruise that I made 1050.

We had a big math discussion last night.

As far as Pinnacle, they may recognize the achievement at Top Tier, but you rarely get the benefits until your following voyage. No different than any other tier.

As always, YMMV

You got NOTHING on the cruise where you turned P ?  If that's the case, that was a piss-poor LA.

I agree 100%.  It was the first cruise of a B2B and the LA would only do it on the second cruise because that was our first full cruise as a P.  I think the LA was new because I knew more about P benefits we should get.  Fortunately,  I have been on many cruises since then where the LA makes a big deal when someone hits 700 during the cruise.

If I sat around listening to that my family would be looking for a CAT scan of my head.

Perhaps the way to reduce the crowd in the DL is to have the cast perform numbers from the show during happy hour?

You only get recognition at Top Tier. That's normal now. Benefits don't start until first cruise after you reach milestone.  Been that way a few years

Did not get recognition at Top Tier on the cruise I made 700.  Got it the next week which was the second cruise of my B2B.

Our experience was different. As posted earlier, we received our gold cards at the day two top tier event and enjoyed the perks of Pin luncheon, suite lounge, etc. the remainder of the week.

For me it was Pinnacle recognition at top tier, invited to a Pinnacle reception in Vintages and invited to a winchpad sail away event for Pinnacle/Suites.  Otherwise no other Pinnacle benefits offered or requested.  Paid for my own Voom, no CL access (D+ were banned on that sailing), already had CK dinners based on being in a JS, no new card.

My research led me to believe it would be recognition on that sailing with benefits commencing on the next cruise so the reception and winchpad sail away party were unexpected and appreciated as I had never been to a Q class winchpad before.

LA was expecting me despite it requiring all of the JS triple solo points to reach exactly 700 (previous LAs haven't always done the solo math for block purposes).  Despite a long line at the LA desk he took the time to run through the paperwork, verify name and address and explain the whole process.

On Oasis last December a new Pinnacle was granted Pinnacle benefits on the 700 cruise so it's very Royaly inconsistent.

I have 322 points. Earned them sailing since late 2016. I have never received a pin. I have never received a crystal block on a sailing without asking the Loyalty Ambassador specifically for it after I'd expected to have received it, and in one case had to wait till the second leg of a B2B because of a claimed "shortage" of them on Anthem during the first segment during which I reached the requisite points.

I've had 6 sailings canceled so far which would have been 98 points earned.

I have 6 sailings booked in 2021 that, if they actual sail, would earn me another 204 points. I have one in December, which would earn me 24 if it sails. I am definitely considering a few more bookings considering the double points offer, I just really am tired of booking cruises and them being cancelled so I'm hoping for something to actually start sailing before the end of the year so I can perhaps be more successful booking a sailing to go on by picking a ship already sailing again. 🙂

I didn’t mean they should have gotten any benefits. I just thought @WeMissSeaViewwas saying that nobody even acknowledged their ascension.  Maybe I was mistaken about that.
