We got the train to Nice from villefranche. Had a nice walk around. They had all sorts of events for the World cup. A stroll along the promenade des anglais and lunch in the hard rock. The next week some crazy drove a truck through the crowd. Strange memories of Nice.

On the way back to the ship in Barcelona, I always stop off at the Placa Reial - perhaps the city's most perfect square, lamposts by Gaudi - for a beer at Bar Glaciar, which has a big selection of bottled beers.

IMG_0085.JPG

A few years ago we had a long weekend in Barcelona. One evening we were wondering around looking for somewhere to eat and we came across Placa del Reail just off Las Ramblas. There are a number of restaurants around the square, most of which were empty with waiters touting for business. However there was one restaurant with a long queue outside. It was 8:15pm and like most in Spain it did not open until 8:30. We decided to follow the locals to join the queue and once the doors opened the queue moved very quick and we were soon seated. We had an excellent meal reasonably priced.

The name of the restaurant is Les Quinze Nits and can recommend it.

It looks like it. There are different forms of the dance, but are all the same story.  We saw it in Bali, so were you in Indonesia?

We called at Livorno on our first cruise and did a tour to Florence and Pisa. The photos are in the loft.  However, we returned in 2006 and did a half day tour to Lucca

Yes we found Lucca very pleasant and only a short tour. We had been to Florence before and it was a very long day. Pisa was also a nice trip, we went by coach but I believe it is easily done by train.

The holy face of Luca and another mystery shot.

I agree with you on all those cities.

We actually liked Naples too plus Sorrento and the Amalfi coast are spectacular.
