Double Points Extended - Sort of

Just got a marketing email from RCL that stated in the fine print that the Double C&A points is now for cruises booked by June 30, 2021 and departing between July 1, 2021 and September 30, 2022. It seems that the double points promo for June 2021 cruises have disappeared. Perhaps June cruises have also now disappeared, even though they have only officially canceled through the end of May?

So the date to book a cruise has been extended but the sail-by date is the same.

I believe Ocean Boy is correct;  they extended the time to book your cruise.  It's all good.  We sail Aug 2022.

The end date stayed the same, but before RCL cancelled May cruises, the Double Points promo was valid for May and June 2021 cruises. It looks like they dropped June, 2021 cruises from the promo.

The booked by and sail by dates did not change.

 

The only thing that changed is the start by date so now there is a couple months less of sailings that they apply to.

People are reporting on social media that NCL has pulled all June 2021 cruises from the booking website.

Just for the record, this is the exact wording in the email(the bolding is mine):

 

"Double Points applies to new, individual, and named existing bookings on all Eligible Sailings made before June 30, 2021. Double Points is available to existing Gold, Platinum, Emerald, Diamond, Diamond Plus, and Pinnacle Crown & Anchor Society members. Double Points provides Crown & Anchor Society members double Cruise Points on sailings departing on July 1, 2021 – September 30, 2022 (“Eligible Sailings”). Cruise Points will be applied once the guest has paid their booking in full and completed their sailing. When reserving, a valid Crown & Anchor Society member number must be included in the reservation."

On another site they are claiming this is an error. But to go and specifically change a date in a mailing requires some kind of instruction to do so?  It doesn’t happen accidentally 🤷‍♀️

They would have been changing it to Sailings starting from June 1since the May cancellations just happened.  Our beloved $18 a day intern just typed July instead of June.   Mistakes can happen.

The ability to book June sailings on Norwegian was removed a day or so ago. Could be RCG is following suite.

How can Cruise Lines sail from US in June, when by July 4, we are permitted to have a BBQ outdoors with a “small” group of family/friends. A small group outdoors. I wouldn’t say 2-6k people on a mostly indoor ship meets those standards. 
 

June is history. Just waiting for Final Payments to pass.

At this point I'd give up double points if it meant June cruises would be a go but I don't suspect that will be an outcome I need to concern myself with.

Frankly, I believe summer cruises are basically a done deal. Perhaps some test cruises out of Florida, but that's about it.
