What if Canada doesn't approve or congress does not go along with the PVSA modification. Also will there be many Alaskan tourist destinations that will staff up and set up for a few weeks of cruising from just 3 ships. Don't get your hopes up too high. DON well if suspicions come to fruition then we will revisit your post and congratulate you for your clairvoyance, if not, then drinks are on you. 1

Jasperdo Posted May 21, 2021 #33 Share Posted May 21, 2021 Concerning traveling through Canadian waters to get to Alaska from Seattle... I'm far from an expert, but I believe the Canadian order specifically states that Innocent Passage is allowable through Canadian waters. Which means that cruise ships will be able to transit through Canadian waters in the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Outbound traffic is on the Canadian side, and inbound traffic is on the US side. Seattle cruises hardly ever sailed up the Canadian Inside Passage anyway, opting for the faster route out in the Pacific Ocean.

They rarely made the narrow passage through the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
cruiseesusee Posted May 21, 2021 #36 Share Posted May 21, 2021 Our booking was just transferred to the Majestic. We also have this option if we don’t want the booking that was transferred to Majestic. Bonus Future Cruise Credit. Sail with us again by accepting our special higher-value Future Cruise Credit (FCC) offer of 100% value of cruise fare paid as a refundable FCC, plus a Bonus non-refundable FCC equal to 10% of the cruise fare paid. Does anyone know if this means that if we already paid $2000 that we would have $4200 or $2200 to use in the future?

Rare CynCyn Posted May 21, 2021 #38 Share Posted May 21, 2021 Still know that August is a long way away and anything can happen. When I booked this cruise, it included Endicott Arm. Now, it’s Glacier Bay!! How fabulous is that?

It is a wonderful change, although I will not be moving over to the Majestic. I was really looking forward to all the deck space on the smaller, older, Emerald.

NCL decided that traveling farther out into International waters so that they could open the casino for a few hours was not worth. Two of the 7 nights are overnight dockings. On all of my Alaskan cruises, the casino was open after leaving port. Edited May 21, 2021 by cr8tiv1

addie19 Posted May 21, 2021 #44 Share Posted May 21, 2021 I am excited! I might get to cruise! We are booked on the majestic for august 1st. I was going to pay in full tonight and book some flights and then..... "There is no age restriction on this series of cruises to Alaska but guests of all ages must be fully vaccinated. " !@$%#$!!!! I'm fully vaccinated, my husband is fully vaccinated, my 13yo just received his 1st dose, but alas, WHAT THE BLEEP CAN I DO ABOUT MY 3 YEAR OLD AND 5 YEAR OLD! I hope, hope, hope, hope that something can be done and I don't have to cancel! 😭😭 (I even just looked up to see if I could get them in a vaccine trial! ☠️) and that an EUA would not be approved until september or october at the earliest for under age 12. fyi, my whole family will also be on the trip, so not happening that the little ones can visit the grandparents while we cruise. I'll probably still be paying in full (due jun 2nd anyway) and re-evaluate before 30 days of sailing to do the book with confidence cancellation thingy. I suppose my 13yo would still get to go, he's in a cabin with other family members. He better enjoy seeing his 50th US state!

Rare Ken the cruiser Posted May 21, 2021 #50 Share Posted May 21, 2021 (edited) Amazing, 5 minutes in and there are no suites to be had on any of the 2021 Majestic Princess Alaska cruises. Update: I take that back. There are some Club Class mini-suites as well as Premium Suites available, but only on the Sep 26th sailing. I guess folks think it's getting a little chilly by then.
