They are allowing families Mother, Father who are  vaccinated dine with their unvaccinated children, then later on when kids are at the kids club, the parents will go to a (show)venue that is for vaccinated passengers only.

 

Meaning they could be spreading covid into the vaccinated venue.

 

So, are you under the impression that vaccinated parents aren’t in the same cabin with their children?  That they don’t live together, and generally spend loads of time together?  Not sure why you think a family dining together on a cruise ship is somehow more exposure.  And you don’t seem to understand that vaccinated people, even if positive for Covid, are highly unlikely to have a viral load sufficient to pass it along.

That's why I'm saying why seperate passengers on a ship, makes no sense?

I think Royal Caribbean has found a brilliant way to sail safely from Florida. Provide a miserable cruise experience for the unvaccinated and charge them more for the privilege.

 

Being segregated in a special dining hall, not being able to go to shows and having to wear a mask  indoors while 90% are are walking around maskless would not be fun.

 

If I were unvaccinated and offered a full refund to not sail, as Royal Caribbean has done, I would take it.

Yes, it’s a class system but for health reasons as well as survival of a whole industry. Unvaccinated people who are doing so for a legitimate reason may choose to cruise or not. Those who are doing so for political reasons may become combative and I fear what may come down. Either way, no one wins.

How bad do people have a desire to sail to put up with the extra expense and the restrictions.

I wouldnt . RCCL would discourage me sufficiently to cancel if i were not vaxxed .

I have my two shots of Pfizer so i dont have a fear of getting severely sick or dying from the virus.

I like what the cruise line is doing.

I think it is getting ridiculous now.... people dont know what is happening as changing constantly.. but certainly doesnt seem a great experience so we have decided not to bother cruising right now.... had been thinking about it but no more.... we are both vaccinated but out daughter isn't and won't be so not wasting our money

How will they know who is who in terms of vaccination once onboard, they don't really say? 

 

And what is to stop an unvaccinated person from bribing a crew member to get one of the wrist bands lets say? Or how do they know that crew members might not even try and sell the wristbands to unvaccinated passengers onboard the ship?  For what 100 bucks a pop? I can see that happening.

Not brilliant at all as these tactics, I believe, violate FL law as they deny/alter goods and/or services based upon one’s medical verification status. As the sailing originated from FL, I don’t believe it’s relevant the the violation occurs in open sea. RCI is gonna get spanked with fines..

I really doubt that a crew member is going to risk being fired and barred from working again for $100. But also, they're punching a hole in their SeaPass card and probably notating it on their file. It says that cards must be scanned before entering a venue. I'm sure if someone shows up with a wristband and they scan their card with a hole in it showing they are unvaccinated, there are going to be some pointed questions as to how they came upon that wristband.

The whole restrictive area thing isn’t any different than what goes on now. Carnival has the Havana area, NCL has the Haven, RCL has special seating, areas reserved for suites. All the lines have special lounges for certain groups that are restricted. This is just different because it is a vaccine. 2 class systems always there before.

Because in the areas designated for only vaccinated, people can go maskless.  Areas where unvaccinated people are gathered will have to be masked and more strictly limited with social distancing and number of people.  They are trying to create a zone for vaccinated people to enjoy some part of their cruise without a mask, while still mitigating disease spread in the vulnerable unvaccinated population on the ship.  I expect they also want it set up to make it as easy as possible for staff to enforce protocols

I'm one of those who would....cruising is too much a passion with me.  I would be willing to do all that just to be aboard.  But thankfully, I won't have to.

I don’t see that. What do you think is being denied or altered? It is just happening in different parts of the ship.

 

The bigger question is why not let the cruise lines determine the best policies for restart?

Won't work as far as if an infection is onboard. Designated areas won't be able to contain it should it occur.

Easy.........ONLY ALLOW vaccinated cruiser's for now.............Unvaccinated not allowed to cruise until we have Herd Immunity.

If the cruise lines were allowed more leeway to set their policies, they might do things differently. The state of Florida seems to be making it difficult by insisting the unvaccinated be included from the  very beginning. Doing so puts the unvaccinated themselves at risk and diminishes the experience for everyone.
