Ocean Medallion App - Part 3

That is a good option.  I have an oct cruise in my app;  but won't even mess with it until after final pmt

Officially less than 24 hours out and still can't choose an arrival group or complete the health questionnaire. I guess we are doing it at the terminal. Here's hoping this piece of junk works better on the ship than it does off.

Mine worked better onboard Discovery and a quick visit to the Ocean staff corrected the missing access to DMW & JourneyView. Unfortunately they could not restore our DMW reservations which were correct when boarding but were wrong onboard. The dining room staff could not restore our reservations so ended up with times we didn’t want…too early at 1700 at a private table or after 1840 at a shared table. Hopefully you’ll have a better DMW experience. 🤞

I'm not overly concerned with the dining piece...I've booked a few nights for early but if it all falls through then we will just eat at the buffet or the pizza place. I just want the basic stuff to work - being able to find my kids, ordering drinks, seeing what's on, etc. I WOULD have made specialty dining reservations had the app allowed me to use my OBC rather than my credit card. Since it wouldn't, we will just skip the specialty dining and spend the OBC on duty free instead...lol

We sail this Saturday and up until now the medallion app was kind of working fine for us as we were able to get our dining options we wanted, upload our passport info & photos and we had selected our embarkation time - we had Group A so the first available time slot.

All was good yesterday but checking it again today our embarkation slot has disappeared along with the QR code - the only available embarkation slot left was the very last option.

The issue we have is that we have pre-booked our travel arrangements to get to the port for the early embarkation time slot we originally had and this cannot be amended.

I am Elite and so would usually get priority boarding and don’t want to be sat around for hours on end after getting dropped off earlier due to our slot that disappeared.

Has anyone else had this issue or know whether we can maybe still board early?

Someone previously had said about their dinning options disappearing so I thought I am going to take a few photos on my phone to prove we had it booked, which I did. At the same time I thought just to be sure I’m going to take a picture of our arrival group and bar code as well. Glad I did now, they might ignore the photos but like you we are Elite ( thanks to some Princess cruises and our P & O cruises before 2018) so hopefully they will honour it.  
 

Also surely their IT people can see what activity people have on the app. That’s if the people at Southampton can get hold of them as no one else seems to be able to.

I also take screenshots of things such as arrival group time & QR code but it’s been my experience that no one accesses it during check-in. When cruising resumed last summer then Princess president Jan Swartz said that priority passengers could arrive when desired.

 

Screenshots of our DMW reservations made 10 months in advance & changed onboard did not restore our reservations. Hopefully your experiences will be better than our disappointing DMW experience. 🤞

I'm currently on the Island Princess. The app is absolute rubbish, even the concierge doesnt know how to fix it. It thinks im either off ship or permanently in my stateroom. I cannot get a beverage delivered to my location, i waited 50 minutes this morning only for my order to be cancelled. There arent any waiters walking around taking orders, so i physically go to a bar and wait 20mins for a drink bc only one bartender working at a time and fulfill app requests before walk ups. Dinner reservations were deleted from app and just loads and refreshes. Customer service chat via the app takes 40+ minutes to respond. So far very unimpressed.

Have you tried going to the ocean medallion desk usually set up in the long hall on the Promenade deck?  They should have a couple of tech ‘experts’ helping passengers.

I just noticed there are 117 pages of medallion app issues.  I would hope that Princess would listen to the people.  It's a shame that we passengers have to come up with ways to solve app issues or help others with their app problems.  Man I feel everyone's pain with the medallion app  issues.  Good luck for those who get it to work properly, or have no issues at all,  and sorry for all those who still have on- going issues with the app.  Two years and it still doesn't work for everyone.  Sad😔

Yes, i went last evening. They could not help me and said someone from concierge would find me and help fix. Never happened. So i went to concierge this morning and they couldn't help either, i was told again someone would find me later with an answer... Obi-Wan-Kenobi is my only hope...

Although you have app issues;  I hope you are enjoying your cruise.

No one queues at the medallion desk, everyone squishes together en masse outside the casino. The queue for the concierge desk snakes thru the entire atrium, disrupting the ambience.

Going to do it anyway.  Helps to prove what I had and not just stringing them on like as though I never touched DMW.  With all I have invested in DMW and documenting issues to Princess, we better damn well have our table for 4 each night.

I went into the app to check something else and found our dining res were gone.  We normally eat at 6:00 but to get a private table I had to re-enter us for 8:00.  Had to redo our arrival time as well.

Me too but their reply was only sorry but there are no available tables. Two weeks of disappointments to celebrate our golden anniversary. 
 

Six months ago on Majestic we shared a table for 4 with friends at 1800 which were not changed although it wasn’t always at the same table.

As I mentioned in a separate post, we ordered FCD using the App with the help of a Princess Rep at the cruise desk. They never appeared in our account and Credit Card was not charged. Just an FYI in case FCDs are important to you. I advised to go the paper / drop box route if it is available.

I am checking MC App and Cruise Personalizer Flights at least every other day.  No, not exactly paranoid, but too many reports of lost reservations to trust the Systems.   ETA - only takes a minute or so.

I’ve been dick’n around with this App for over 2 hours trying to get my new booking loaded and my old booking deleted. I was going on the Crown but after the latest round of problems we decided to jump ship and go on the Discovery. When I go into the App it shows us going on the Crown, but no cabin. I entered the new booking number, no go, deleted the App, reinstalled the App, entered the booking number again, no go. I was able to go online and fill out all the information, most of it was already there. You’d think it would be simple. Anyone got any answers?

If you just canceled and booked a new one.  You don’t do anything on the app yet.  It takes about a day for the website info to mesh with the App.

The website will update first, then the App. 
Check the App tmrw, it might be updated by then.
