I guess Celebrity loves giving swag.  I know I had to work hard to get once of Carnival’s “ship on a stick”.

This pretty darned nice canvas bag was sitting on my bed when I came in (late) last night.

You get more Swag in suites.  Suite Swag.

I’ll have more about food….probably later in the week.  Everything has been fresh, well prepared and delicious….my typical breakfast….

If I ate that for breakfast I would be hungry again in about an hour.😀

So, Costa Maya…..3 or 4 sponsored tours through Celebrity…..typical ruins, beach day, etc type of activities.  I’ve actually done those before.  So, not sure if they’re different.  Not sure I want to pay to find out.

Anything outside of the general dock/shopping area are off limits.  They do have “authorized” taxis that will accompany you.  But, it sounds like they’re limited in where they can take you.  Don’t know what those limits are.

The concierge did say some shops are now open right off the pier.  Don’t know which ones those are.  Still undecided on what do do.

Do you, or anyone else know who Nate Berkus is?  Some sort of well known designer?  Or, just another guy named Nate who has a sewing machine in his basement?

I don't think I'd last an hour! I typically get the fruit plate, but I add yogurt, either muesli or an omelette, and a side of crisp bacon to it😂

Nate Berkus is a well known interior designer, thanks to Oprah.

Thanks for your review. I am enjoying very much. I will be on the Edge for the first time in October.

Nate Berkus is a home designer type featured on a number of TV talk shows like Oprah in the past.  He was chosen along with Kelly Hoppen by Celebrity to design and equip the interior areas on Edge.  Many people are negative on their form vs function decisions.  Lots of threads on this.  Hoppen gets the lion's share of the blame.  Berkus' company among other things provided the swag like bags for the Edge voyages (in suites anyway).  You can sell them on eBay.

Randomness….sitting in the Lounge checking on excursions and posting some pics for y’all.

Those who know Quicksilver Messenger Service (a San Francisco psych band), they have them playing softly over the intercom….”What You Going To Do About Me?” Cover via some sort of 1001 Strings type of band.  Struck me as funny!

NICE--Usually NO chairs available by pool at 9AM (well, none w/o towels...🤨)

If you sign up for a ship excursion you do not have to wait in the line.  The Concierge in The Retreat can do this for you.  As well as almost all Guest Services does.

I don't think he actually did design work on Edge. He was the brand ambassador/spokesman. He did design part of the Sunset Bar on Beyond.

For what it’s worth I believe he designed the new redesigned sunset bar area in the Beyond.

You can tell from the construction pics from Beyond that there are some design changes already like the roof structure being much lower. It will be interesting to see if the redesign turns out to be as substantially different in the end as it was in the early renderings. I thought the mockups looked great. The Edge sunset bar just feels sterile to me.

you may already know this....in the casino, cash in your OBC for promotional chips to gamble with. When you win, you get regular chips you turn in for real cash...of course the key to that phrase is, when you win!

In 2019 on our Ireland/Iceland cruise with Celebrity, we had a ton of OBC due to a price drop. We used this method and were lucky enough to make quite a bit of money- double our OBC. Hit a few streaks at the 3 card poker table!

Enjoy.

I believe Berkus was deemed the "design ambassador," meaning he was a figurehead with a name but did none of the actual designing himself.  Hoppen mad gets the credit...er...blame for the drab room interiors.
