la_croisiere_s'amuse Posted August 14, 2021 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2021 Hi folks! I've been checking out vlogger videos as I research RCI ships I haven't sailed before, and I've learned two things: one, there are a lot more cruise vloggers out there than I realized; and two, I enjoy some of them a lot more than others. 😉 Assuming that they aren't also travel agents (because I know we aren't allowed to name TAs here), who are your favorite vloggers that feature RCI ships? Bonus points for why you like them. 🙂 Thanks in advance!

la_croisiere_s'amuse Posted August 15, 2021 Author #5 Share Posted August 15, 2021 Thank you everyone, I have lots to watch now! And @Hogbay, my apologies, guilty as charged. 😄 Lately I've been enjoying Views and Queues--just a cute young couple that are lots of fun to watch, especially their series on the Adventure which was her first RCI cruise.

cured Posted August 15, 2021 #7 Share Posted August 15, 2021 (edited) LexlovesLos has a great one after the amplification of Oasis. Carlos and Alexa PenaVega (BTR and Spy Kids, and the Hallmark movie on the Harmony.) He is a pinnacle so knows his way around Royal Caribbean. There are so many to watch! emdia43 Posted August 15, 2021 #9 Share Posted August 15, 2021 JoJo’s world and Kyle Pallo. They are new cruisers and very entertaining. It is refreshing to see a cruise from a newbie point of view. From experienced cruisers ‘Our two suitcases’ videos are fun and very professionally done. 2

Eddie Wilson Posted August 15, 2021 #14 Share Posted August 15, 2021 I do like to watch vloggers. I tend to follow them for some time, but each seems to run aground from repetition. So then I switch to another. Example, I follow one who have been on several weeks of cruises since June. But they fell into the....”all the same” category and I can’t watch more than the first minute to see if it’s different. However, my seemingly old standby is La Lido Loca, as Tony and Jenny are just so darn witty, and their bantering back and forth can remind me of my wife and I. Classic “NOT the same” example, Tony talks for months about getting a lobster roll in Key West, and when they get there, he forgot any money or credit cards. LOL as I have done the same. I do now seem to pass on the ones with seemingly fake smiles on thumbnails. As as I mentioned, I have followed a few and EECC, Tips for Travellers, Don Vacations, Emma are generally pretty good, I tend to circle the dial with them. Thanks for the thread, I will check out a couple mentioned above to give them a look see. Eddie 4
rebeccac Posted August 15, 2021 #15 Share Posted August 15, 2021 Emma Cruises is always good. Grounded Life Cruise is not bad. Really like Sean & Stef, but sadly Sean passed away from cancer earlier this year, but hopefully Stef will get back to cruising eventually.

Is it just for entertainment purposes or to get information or both? Depending on where you are in the cruise world the choice of vlogger will change. If you're shopping for a cruise and don't know what you're getting for your money then there's plenty of vloggers who post room tours, how-to advice for navigating the various cruise websites, how to determine what a good vs. bad price is, and potential pitfalls or undesirable experiences during the purchasing process. If it is the first time you're on a cruise and you prefer watching vs. reading for advice then a few cruise vloggers also post pre-cruise rituals, such as what to pack, how to pack, how to plan ahead for on-board activities, etc. With cruises restarting many future cruisers and potential future cruisers want to know "what's the 'new normal' that people are talking about?" A vlogger can show live footage of mask wearing, signage, paperwork, overhead announcements, what the dining experience is like, etc. If you just want to watch other people having fun (like watching a TV show) then there's lots of cruise vloggers who can scratch that itch as well. It's the little things that matter--reading on the forums here someone saying, "Buy some magnetic hooks, they are useful!" is different than watching a vlogger toss a magnetic hook on the wall then hang their purse on it. Sometimes seeing is believing!

Sometimes seeing is believing! Ok, so now I need to start watching vloggers…that was funny. I always have a bunch of magnetic hooks and I will definitely try that on our next cruise….it can be a new game, like throwing bologna against the wall to see if it sticks 😁 Edited August 15, 2021 by lovesthebeach2
