flamingos Posted October 8, 2021 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2021 A friend sent this from a blog post about the Mariner, October 15 sailing. Is this for real? I can't imagine why they would switch from the silicone bands.
HicksRA Posted October 8, 2021 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2021 (edited) Yes. I have a friend on Indy right now and they all got a white one like that for this week. It was the silicon bands up until this week. That would drive me nuts…. Edited October 8, 2021 by HicksRA
lovelife Posted October 8, 2021 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2021 They are terrible. This is Liberty's this week. I had to trim the ribbon as it dragged into everything.
ZoeyVictoria Posted October 8, 2021 #4 Share Posted October 8, 2021 They will also get wet every time we shower, use the pool/hot tub, or go to the beach. It just sounds unsanitary and irritating to me.

GKMCruising Posted October 8, 2021 #6 Share Posted October 8, 2021 I'm gonna blame COVID. They probably haven't gotten their shipments of those silicone bands in, so they had to find a temporary substitute.
BND Posted October 8, 2021 #7 Share Posted October 8, 2021 My guess is because once you put it on, you can't take it off and share it. As we all know some people are not above lying about it.

I agree with the others. I'd have a real problem with that ribbon.

flamingos Posted October 8, 2021 Author #15 Share Posted October 8, 2021 We sail on Mariner next Friday - hopefully they will have recovered from this error in judgement by then. 🙂
Jerseygirl1416 Posted October 9, 2021 #16 Share Posted October 9, 2021 We had the green silicone bracelet on Oasis. I was at guest services and there was an obese man at the counter who was asking if there was something they could do because his silicone bracelet looked like it was cutting off his circulation. The agent basically told him no and he walked off. I wanted to suggest he put it on a lanyard but I felt funny getting involved. Seeing how many obese people there were on our cruise I suspect this is a problem and that adjustable ribbon is the result of that.

But, could you kindly fill me in on the Covid Protocol for your B2B? Specifically, testing between the 1st and 2nd Cruise? Does Royal require a test to get back on the ship? Thank you, 🛳🛳 Bobbi

Thank you for that quick response 😁, and for easing my mind. I couldn’t think of any other way, except for Royal to do the testing themselves. 🛳🛳 Bobbi

outtoseacruise Posted October 9, 2021 #22 Share Posted October 9, 2021 (edited) I hated the cloth ones and instead ran my belt through it and had it on my right side next to my phone. Don't let them tighten it when they give it to you. Edited October 9, 2021 by outtoseacruise 1

AustinCruise Posted October 9, 2021 #25 Share Posted October 9, 2021 Please. No cloth locking bands. Terrible for showering, sleeping, and who are you going to share with anyway? they should collect the bands on the way out like they do the tracelets.
