How much does it cost to upgrade celebrity drinks package?

The upgrade charge will be $12 per person per day which includes the beverage gratuity. Guests may not purchase a beverage upgrade before final payment when they book Always Included. Alternatively, guests may also upgrade their beverage package from Classic to Premium once onboard the ship.

As stated above, $10/day plus %20 gratuity for a total of $12/day. Must be bought for the remainder of the cruise (not just one day at a time) and, I think, can only be purchased up to two days before the end of the cruise.

The good thing is, if you only want to upgrade one person, you can if you do it onboard, unlike others who make all people in a stateroom upgrade.

I am on the Apex now and have the premium package. I have not been able to get my favorite Mer Soleil Chardonnay as they don’t seem to have it anywhere.
Also no more buying Caymus Cabernet by the glass, bottle only. Not sure if premium package is worth it as we have been served wine from the classic menu. Maybe they think we don’t know the difference.

Supply chain is not in good shape on having the products.  I have it for my cruise in a week or so will see, but mostly for Martini Bar and few other things  But I like the ease of just having it and not worrying and have to sign things.  Do Celebrity come out ahead on me probably

I wonder if just on Apex or all the ships. Was planning on buying a few glasses of Caymus.

Upgrade on board at a bar you like…bartenders get a cut, and remember it.

Worth much more than a small discount…

If you have OBC, can that be used to purchase package onboard.
Thanks for the tip on upgrading onboard.

I upgrade to premium every time as I don’t even want to think how much my triple Baileys with no ice would cost that I order before going into the theater to watch the evening show as it’s not covered under the Classic. And then there are my 2+ glasses of premium Riesling Kabinett I have at dinner which is much tastier than the cheaper version available with the Classic. 😎

Can you still get the Captain's Club discount if you book on board? Or is that only available pre-cruise?

Its the Elite discount which is 10% only available pre cruise and you have to call them.

We were able to get Caymus by the glass in Luminae on the Edge 2 weeks ago.

We did find that many things were only available in 1 or 2 places.  Cattier champagne wasn't available on the 1st leg in Luminae, the Retreat, Martini Bar or Sunset.  Just before the end of the cruise we discovered that there was Cattier in Eden.  2nd leg only stocked in the Martini Bar and Eden.   Limited supply may be why they don't have some things in every bar.

If i want a drink not included in classic, do i just pay the difference? I would like to get a few drinks at the martini bar.

Yes. I have premium and I had to pay $1 plus $0.20 tip for a $16 glass of wine. However, I don’t know what the cutoff is for Classic.

Just to add, you definitely can upgrade online once final payment is made, which we did for the equinox 11/19/21 cruise. In fact they have been pestering us to upgrade again to the drinks & more package, but I don't see the value in it.

If you play in the casino, the drinks and more is a reasonably good deal (on 7 day or shorter cruises), IMHO.

Assuming both people in the cabin do the "& More", for the additional $9/pp/pd (incl tip) you each get:

  • $50 each in casino promo chips  (worth $50x2 to me, since both my wife and I play)
  • 2 really crappy bottles of wine (worth $0 to me and my wife)
  • wine tasting (worth $5x2 to me and my wife, since it is a fun way to spend an hour)
  • in-cabin mini bar (worth between $0 and $100 depending on who wants the pringles and diet coke in the morning)

So basically we get $110 worth of value, plus the minibar. On a 5 night cruise, it is a no-brainer.

Cost: $9x2x5 = $90

Value: >$100

Decision: BUY, BUY, BUY!

On a 7 night cruise it depends on your value on the convenience of the minibar.

Cost: $9x2x7 = $126

Value: $110 plus minibar

Decision: hmmm, one diet coke and a pringles and I'm basically "even". BUY, BUY, BUY!

So just to clarify please.  Am I understanding correctly that if I want to upgrade from classic to premium, I can do it on board but I WON'T receive the Elite discount?

Noticed also the package on Cruise Planner. Am travelling solo in single cabin. I would assume that in that case I would get minibar included since I can be the only paying person in the stateroom. 🙂 Anyone has experince?

It would be worth it to just upgrade to premium if you're going to have at least two drinks per day at the martini bar.

I can't answer this specifically, but @JamieLogical might be able to in a few days.  I believe she was planning to upgrade to Drinks & More on at least one leg of her current Solo B2B on the Summit.  You can check out her live thread here:
