If I was bothered by kids in the Solarium, other than a weather exception, I would get a Attention to Detail Card and fill it out.  That card can be quick to get action..

Great idea! I need to remember that!

We are on board the Apex now and having a wonderful time! Something that has surprised me on this cruise has been children swimming in the solarium pool and hot tubs. A 3 yr old in floaties in the pool, boys 7 and 8 “swimming” in between guests and conversations in the hot tub. Mom of the boys said they’re allowed to be in the solarium hot tub but not the solarium pool. I’m assuming this is the case as staff have passed through and not said anything.  Go figure! I thought the solarium was strictly an adults area.

Sad if Celebrity is changing the Rules! We sail Celebrity instead of Royal because it's usually less kids, etc. We are retired, have raised our kids and like a more adult atmosphere. We have Edge this weekend and Apex in April, will be interesting 🤔

They are not changing any rules, the excerpt from the web site I Quoted in post #23 has been there for years.

States right on the web site that Celebrity reserves the right to open the solarium to familes, so no rules are being broken.

From the age restrictions portion of web site.

* During inclement weather and select hours, the ship may permit the Solarium Pool (if covered) to be used by persons under age sixteen (16) provided they are directly supervised by a parent or guardian.

Select hours comment pretty much gives them the right to do it anytime.

I could be wrong but I thought the Solarium was reserved for adults to have a nice quiet , relaxing session!

Well, sure... except when Celebrity exercises its right to open it up.

We sailed the Reflection a couple weeks ago. One day there were a couple kids in the Solarium pool and hot tubs. Probably 11 or 12 year olds.
The pool attendant went over to their father and informed him it was adults only. The father decided he didn’t like those rules and was very loud getting out of the pool. Even calling us sitting around the pool “just a bunch of SNOBS”. He highlighted the word snobs.
I applaud all the pool attendants who do this. It can’t be easy especially when the guest makes a scene like that.

PS:  I just read on other threads the Solarium is open to families on some ships from 4pm to 7pm and on other ships from 4:30pm to 7:30pm

That is only on occasion and not a given at any time. If it isn't in the daily, it doesn't happen. This really only happens when the weather is inclement. Young children should never be permitted in a hot tub. They are at risk of overheating and bacterial infection.

I am currently on the second leg of a B2B on the Equinox. There are now family hours in the Solarium every day from 8 to 10 am and 4 to 6 pm, even when the weather is nice. The main reason we chose Celebrity was the Solarium and Persian Gardens, which until now have been adult areas - in the past we loved relaxing there and it was a highlight of our Celebrity experience. Last week there were kids in the pool just being kids, and the noise level was high. This evening there were three young kids in the pool, one in a swim diaper, at 6:45 when we wanted to use the pool. The security person did nothing about it. This is not what we signed up for when we booked. I was considering booking another B2B while on board, but this changed my mind. (I did go to Guest Relations this evening to let them know.)

EW! That is very disappointing.  We will be monitoring these reports to see if Celebrity puts a stop to this.  If not, there are all adult lines and our next cruise is far enough out to change.

My husband has a friend (who was quite the star of the 80s) who has a rather unique way of encouraging parents to take their young children out of all-adult spaces if they are not supposed to be there.  We would never be able to pull it off, but he gets away with it as it was part of his "persona"

I was shocked to see Family hours posted in the Silhouette Solarium in December.
I might understand it during inclement weather but not in the Caribbean with beautiful weather outside.  There were so few children on that cruise so only saw one mom and child there outside the family hour. I hope that Celebrity keeps the Solarium adults only except in inclement weather.

On our cruise, there were a couple of families utilizing the Solarium.  I went and spoke to a security guard who was in the area of the pools and he took care of the situation.   He reminded the families of the policy and asked them to return to the main pool area.  Situation solved.

On other cruises such as Alaska, there were posted times for families to enjoy the Solarium.

When we sailed the Millie last August, we definitely saw kids in the Solarium during adults-only times. I took my son only during the designated family times, which he understood what was allowed, but it was annoying to see parents not following the rules when we would walk through on the way to/from the kids club. Most of the time, the solarium was fairly empty and the kids were fairly quiet, but that doesn’t make it okay. My son knows that we follow the rules. We’ll be on the Apex in April, and we will do the same. It is true we booked Celebrity for us—mostly the smoke-free casino and the comped cabin—but my son loved our Celebrity cruise, just as much as he’s loved our Princess and Carnival cruises (not quite as much as our Disney cruises).

How utterly disappointing. The adults only solarium pool is one of the biggest reasons we book on Celebrity. If that goes away, we will definitely go elsewhere.

Also, swim diapers should NEVER be permitted in any pool onboard . They are not water tight.

I have always noticed the family hours posted in the solarium.  Fortunately, I have not seen children in solarium when not allowed on my many celebrity cruises.

Family hours have never been posted (pre-covid or post covid) during the cruises I have taken. I have only seen 1 hr given to families when it was raining, but the sea became so rough the pool was drained and netted over before the hour came around.

I would have loudly laughed at him as he stormed off with his kids. 🤣

Sad, I would be sure to write  about your disappointment in the email survey.
