Name your Carnival cruise deal

Recommended Posts

I know that Carnival has been running a lot of specials for quite awhile.  We cruised on the Mardi Gras this year with a free cabin special.  We upgraded to the lido deck and only paid $38 for the two of us, plus taxes and fees.

We are cruising at the end of January 2023.  I had been going over deals from time to time and ran across an amazing deal for an ocean suite.  We are paying $592.50 per person for an ocean suite on deck 15 on the Celebration January 29th cruise.  The total, including taxes and fees, is $1,477.72.  We also have a $98 credit and will apply for the stockholder's credit.  We are so excited and have never cruised in a suite.  We don't spend much time in our cabin, but this deal was too good to pass up.

What is your amazing deal?

I had a promo show up in the list of promos when I logged into my account and I only saw that cheap rate for that one particular cruise.

I don't want to sound like a newbie, but is a free cabin special an upgrade or a free cabin. Also how did you cruise for $38 plus taxes and port fees.

After my March solo cruise on Valor out of New Orleans, I got an offer that worked out to be only $100 more to move up to an Ocean Suite from a balcony. Our Ocean Suite on the September 10th Carnival Valor 5-day cruise for 2 is $753.72 - includes taxes and fees. Never had a Suite before. Will be a surprise for DH. (That's about the same price we paid for our first cruise in 2008. An aft OV cabin on the Riviera deck on a 5 day cruise in September aboard the Holiday out of Mobile :-)

I just got off the Sunshine, it was $20 + tax/fees for an inside for a 5 day including casino DOU. I could have cruised for not much more to Alaska this month, but I couldn't make that work on short notice (as much as I would have liked to). I think total I paid right around $400 for a 5 day cruise after all taxes and gratuities, and didn't spend a dime on drinks during the entire cruise. I was happy as a clam.

So far that's the best deal I've yet taken advantage of.

I got a promo for a free cruise on specific cruises.  I chose the Mardi Gras.  It was for a free inside cabin on a lower deck.  I called and changed to a cabin on the lido deck and it was only $19 per person to change.  I haven't seen any free cruise promos lately though. For awhile Carnival was running some really amazing deals so that they could get vaccinated people to fill up the ships.

Mine is on upcoming Alaska cruise on Spirit - $100pp for balcony room + $100pp OBC, which equals free room - paying only port fees & taxes.

Those Carnival Spirit offers for this summer are wonderful.  Paying a ton more for excursions (Even with taking advantage of the mistake on the spa sale this weekend) than I am for the fare.  And going right after the summer solstice for it which is great.

I'm sailing solo on a 12-night Scandinavian/Baltic cruise, in an 8K extended "bowling alley" balcony, for $550.

The taxes, fees, and port charges ($290) were more than the cruise fare ($260).

Jack squat.  Have cruised Carnival 20 times, have 7 more booked into 2024.  Never get the deals that are geography controlled like the west coast deals on the Panorama or Radiance or even ones that are promotional centered like the RU 1-2-3 codes for Cheers.

And don't get me started on the give aways to the  gamblers.

Who do you have pictures of at Carnival to get a rate of 260 for a bowling alley balcony, for a solo, as well?  Should be well over 3K.

I had a recent offer for an "Island Hopper" cruise, free cabin for 23 nights when they move Spirit back to Australia. Seattle/Hawaii/Fiji/Sydney. They were even kicking in a little OBC. Alas, I had to pass, although I was tempted to turn in my retirement papers and go solo.

Best deal I got was zero cruise fare (just paid taxes, port fees, and tips) on a lido deck room with a window that looked out towards the front deck of the ship that was considered an inside room. We are cruising to Alaska in a couple of weeks where we paid about $2k for a suite and $600-something total (including port fees, taxes, etc.) for an inside room.  But lately my deals have dried up.
