Yesterday, on The Talk, they announced an upcoming dating reality show, "The Real Love Boat" which will take place on a Princess ship in the Mediterranean.

I guess this may be free advertising for Princess.  A reality dating show is stretching though!!  The scenery will be nice in the Mediterranean.

I wish it was a reboot instead of a dating show. They rebooted Fantasy Island and it’s good. They could have different guest stars every week. Maybe have Shonda Rhimes do it and make it all juicy and dramatic.

If it was for widows and widowers, and they kept track of the contestants after their "happily ever after", I would totally watch.

I know some lucky  couples that found love on a Princess cruise. Just fate  made it happen.

Will watch purely for the scenery (if they show any) and the views of the ship - don't care about the dating stuff which is scripted anyway.

Yes, the new Princess has some cheesiness! I was on the new Discovery a few months ago and when we pulled into the beautiful, calm harbor in Cabo, they blew the horn several times which plays the theme song from that old Love Boat show!!

When I first read this I was thinking this show was going to be for the couples who met and got married and are now having second thoughts.

Cheesy, but considering the number of people who will watch the old love boat series it might make them some money after all.

For a treat, go back & watch "The Cruise" on YouTube.  There are several seasons.  We really enjoyed it!

All Royal class ships play the Love Boat theme as they are leaving a port.

The difference with Discovery Princess -- at least on its third cruise embarking from San Pedro on April 10, 2022 -- is that the ship played the Love Boat theme about 6 times (that I recall) as it left the port and made its way down the channel. 🙂

Have a couple of favorites and it's evident they don't use english majors.  I saw one where a guy was able to use actually three times in one sentence.
