DrewCC2225 Posted July 12, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2022 I figured it would be interesting for us to read everyone’s stories - what cruise that you guys have taken over the years was your most memorable? It could be because of a destination, excursion you took or maybe it was your first cruise - or even unfortunately the last cruise you took with a loved one before they passed. I look forward to hearing some stories!
firefly333 Posted July 12, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 12, 2022 Alaska on miracle. We had a naturalist onboard who told us the night before what to watch for. Whales at 7 am, everyone would be lined up in chairs along the windows of the buffet with their binoculars. I liked that it seemed like a group enjoying things and pointing out stuff to each other. Look over there is a eagle. Oooh whale just jumped.
BND Posted July 12, 2022 #3 Share Posted July 12, 2022 30 foot seas for about 12 hours returning to Baltimore on GR a few years ago. Other than that, they all have something to be memorable for, whether it's meeting new people, doing fun excursions, etc.
pcur Posted July 12, 2022 #4 Share Posted July 12, 2022 I have two: Circumnavigation of Australia on the Rhapsody. Sydney to Perth, with amazing stops and sights. My 50th wedding anniversary cruise March-May in 2019, but it was 2ships: Jewel and Adventure. From San Diego through the Panama Canal, Transatlantic, Mediterranean, flew to Fort Lauderdale, Adventure Caribbean cruise plus all the way up to Nova Scotia. Both were trips of a lifetime, and my husband passed away in March 2021, so I am VERY glad we had that anniversary trip together.

dbancroft Posted July 12, 2022 #6 Share Posted July 12, 2022 1979 first cruise Song of Norway. We ran from hurricane David and Frederick. 7 days turned into 8 days made only one stop in St. Thomas and walked thru town with water around our ankles. Still enjoyed the cruise and used our 100% refund and rebooked for 1980.

Little dinky ship, little dinky shows, but oh-so wonderful. That's when we knew we loved the Caribbean.

Rare livingonthebeach Posted July 12, 2022 #9 Share Posted July 12, 2022 Harmony of the Seas on her maiden transatlantic to the US. At that time she was the largest ship in the world. We were met by her two sister ships at time - Oasis and Allure. There was a photo op with the three lined up off the coast of Port Everglades. Was quite a show! 1
sjb317 Posted July 12, 2022 #10 Share Posted July 12, 2022 My most memorable was our cruise in 2009. from Port Canaveral around South America to LA. It was actually 3 cruises for a total of 46 days on Mariner. Some of my favorite memories were overnights in Rio and Buenos Aries, walking on Penguin Island with thousands of penguins in Ushuaia, and wine tasting in Chile. Great cruise! Second best was a cruise on Radiance across the Pacific from Sydney to Honolulu with a B2B that circumvented the Hawaiian islands and ended in Vancouver. 30 amazing nights! ALWAYS CRUZIN Posted July 12, 2022 #11 Share Posted July 12, 2022 After 80 cruises and still going we have have many enjoyable cruises. However only a few were exceptional. The Sky Princess for one. The Harmony blew us away with the shows' and the ship itself. Two others. Carnival Sensation and Royals Serenade of the Seas.
sowhat Posted July 12, 2022 #12 Share Posted July 12, 2022 The most memorable cruise for the wrong reasons was the monarch of the seas Allocated cabin had a crew member in it Visited guest services and informed them, told to wait to 5pm and cabin would be ready, no, crew member still there, just got out of bed. Back to guest services. Second cabin had guests clothes in. Visited guest services 5 times to correct. Still no cabin at 7pm, finally received a cabin upgraded at 9pm when we asked for the ship to return to port to disembark us, which we known it would not happen. 1
loman Posted July 12, 2022 #13 Share Posted July 12, 2022 Our first cruise on RC Voyager of the Seas . We were new to cruising and were real happy with our selection. Remember a Beatles tribute band that was so good we saw the show twice that night. Later on , several years later we stepped onto the Oasis , and boy were we wowed .

Septemberbride07 Posted July 12, 2022 #17 Share Posted July 12, 2022 Our 10th anniversary Western Med Cruise. We started our day with Mass at the Vatican, embarked on what would have been my Grammie's 97th birthday, and celebrated on our balcony with a special bottle of wine from my cousin's wedding. Plus, my husband was a "celebrity" on the cruise since he won $2500 with a Royal Flush! Oh, and he was won 300 Euro at the Casino de Monte-Carlo! 1

Surfguyxxx Posted July 12, 2022 #19 Share Posted July 12, 2022 My very first cruise holds a special place in my heart which was an 11 night sailing in the Caribbean on the Celebrity Horizon out of Tampa. The ship looked so big to me but we had an amazing time. After that would be a TP on Ovation OTS for our 30th anniversary in 09/2019. It was a 19 night crossing that embarked in Hawaii ended in Sydney. We decided to do a B2B on her with a 9 nighter around NZ, staying in the same cabin which was a CLS. We had an amazing time and were spoiled rotten.

bonsai3s Posted July 12, 2022 #21 Share Posted July 12, 2022 Royal Caribbean...many (many) years ago onboard the Song of America. We had a table for 8 and a wonderful British couple along with the Staff Captain sat with us every night. The 3 remaining seats were taken by various entertainers and dancers. Special meals and wine every night...with the dancers drinking "shots" and telling wild stories I cannot repeat here on CC. We were addicted to cruising ever since...we didn't know any better. * Non Royal Caribbean ship...Renaissance Cruises. South Pacific cruise out of Papeete. Incredible ship, outstanding crew and amazing food. The sail into Bora-Bora was absolutely breathtaking. 2
George C Posted July 12, 2022 #22 Share Posted July 12, 2022 Hard question after 70 plus cruises but I would pick our brilliance cruise out of Barcelona 6 years ago to celebrate our 25 anniversary, did a couple of days in Barcelona which is amazing, then 12 night cruise with 5 stops in Italy including Venice and Florence, also Dubrovnik and Kotor. Had a beautiful corner aft grand suite #1600.
Cigar King Posted July 12, 2022 #23 Share Posted July 12, 2022 For me it was that last cruise before the Covid shutdown. Crazy weird to be on a, what seemed to me, an almost empty ship.
