Blue chip email? Is it a scam?

Hi all,

Not a scam.  I've booked through Blue Chip offers many times.  In fact I responded  to this offer and am booked.  If you want to take advantage simply fill out the form from the link on the email.  You will receive a booking confirmation.  Then call and give them your payment information.  Couldn't be easier.

And as mentioned you can ask for an upgrade price.  Note that typically there are no perks attached to these offers (unless possibly for the highest rollers?) so if you want internet, drink package etc. that will be extra.  Still a good deal in my opinion!   🙂

ok, my first email as well, so I have a ton of questions!

I did a mock booking and the cheapest veranda is $799 with taxes, fees and port expenses of $142.42. Does this mean that my cost for the cruise would be $142.42 plus gratuities, drinks, etc?

Is there a single supplement associated with this? If I want to go, I'd have to find someone who wants to go on the cruise and pay full fare, right?

I got the offer and was able to upgrade from free veranda cabin to Concierge  for $20 per person per night plus taxes. All total $444 for a week great deal!

Could you please elaborate?  It says for one person. How much additional is the second person in the room? Are they paying full fare?

How does this work with the second person in the room? Do they pay full price? Do you get to pick your room?

It's legit.  I just booked a A1 cabin for a total of 424.58 ($142.28/pp for taxes/port fees plus an upcharge of $70/pp for aqua class). Had to wait 1.5 hours on the phone, the rep said they're inundated with calls from this email.  Received a confirmation email from Celebrity.  I asked and there is no requirement to play in the casino.  No option to upgrade to suites.  It's cruise fare only so still have to pay for tips, plus anything else.  Still a great deal.

TBH, we were on Solstice in June for Alaska in CC and weren't wowed.  But since we are able to try AC at such a low cost and the cruise is departing from a port we can drive to, I figured it was too good to pass up.

In every case where I've had an offer it has been for two people.

The last two times, at least, my husband has gotten a similar offer.  We both booked it and brought friends along.  No one paid full price, although, again, no perks.  I know there is another thread discussing people getting offers that include drinks and wifi.  I've never gotten that so I just add on.  I've also upgraded the stateroom on occasion but it seems to me that upgrading has gotten more expensive recently.

As for picking the room, when I've upgraded I've chosen my room.   Blue Chip will assign a room initially.  If you are not planning on upgrading the category I'd advise checking the deck plan to make sure the assigned room is okay with you.  If not,  ask for a different location within the category and I'll bet they will try to make it happen.

So far I've been very pleased with BCC and will always keep an eye out for offers!   I hope this helps!  🙂

Hi....

The offer I booked today was for an A1 veranda for a grand total of less than $150 for two people.  Add on gratuities, drinks etc to get the actual total but still a good deal in my opinion.

The last cruise that my husband and I booked through BCC (Alaska just a bit ago) was for two rooms and his sister joined us.  She was supposed to bring a friend who couldn't make it at the last minute.  No supplement or any penalty that I remember.  Maybe you can call and ask BCC if there's a supplement if it is being booked as a solo cruiser.  I'm not sure about that.

Me three.  The drop-down list of sailings only contains Solstice sailings out of LA from September thru March.  Guess there is very little demand for those?  Going to fill it out and see what happens!

Remember that guy that used to post about the huge demand on the West Coast and insisting Celebrity base a ship there? I guess this answers that question. Can't fill the ships so having to comp them.

We also got this offer; on our May cruise we might have spent a couple hundred in the casino. It had been 4 years prior to that when we had last sailed on Celebrity. Maybe they are targeting people that look like (gambling behavior) they might spend more.  I'll probably do this, free beats wholesale.

We each got an offer and were able to book back to backs in February, including the week of Valentines Day. But Aquaclass was not available for a cheap price. Maybe it depends on your level. We are both Pearl.

My S/D got the BCC offer to my email.  It allows to enter up to 4 names for the cruise.  We will take up the offer.  DW and I wonder why we never get this offer.  Celebrity probably feels the S/D will spend more with them over her lifetime than we will.  We were planning a cruise with S/D and her infant, this will fit the bill.  Only upgrade we would we be interested in is a suite which I suspect is unlikely.  DW and I are Elite Plus, so the drinks/internet package are not a concern.  Thanks Celebrity and BCC.

Newbie to Celebrity questions regarding gambling:

1 - I assume I can’t play with cash.

2 - I think I read you have to use a credit card and it is billed as a cash advance. That’s bad because it generates fees/transaction charge.

3 - Can I use a debit card to avoid the fees?

4 - Is the casino connected to any of the Vegas casinos?

Many thanks and congrats on getting free cruises. I guess it isn’t that different from free rooms in Vegas!

You can bring cash and the dealer will change it into chips. The slot machines will take cash.

Does anybody know how cancellation fees work on a complimentary cruise?  We also received the email, and made a reservation for an Aqua class room for a $70 per person fee.  After being on hold for 2 hours, I was about to give my credit card number to pay for the room, but we got cut off.  I am on hold again right now.

Before we got cut off, when I asked about cancellation fees, the representative told me to never cancel a comp cruise, but to just move it.  He also said that only the $140 upgrade fee would be subject to a cancellation fee, since the rest of the fare is taxes/fees.  I am trying to confirm if this is accurate.

@mahdnc Great news!  Thanks very much.

Also there is a relationship between Celebrity and MGM.  I believe it is limited to getting reciprocal status (with the associated perks) between their respective loyalty clubs--in this case, Captains Club and MGM Rewards. The casino itself is not connected to a Las Vegas one, which was your question.

I too got the email today and it is not a scam. I do not gamble hardly at all a few pulls on lots here and there no more than 20-40 at a night a few times at most.

I called stayed on hold about 2 hrs got the Blue Club booking and scored the sailing on our anniversary week and sunset aft balcony all for just the taxes due. First time ever to get an offer like this.

So if  you got the E meal CALL!

Got this email, actually two emails. One to me and one to my husband.

we are definitely interested , and would want to upgrade to Aqua Class. Love that category.

Going to call tomorrow about March sail dates.  We are in NY, so want to get an airfare quote as well.  Anyone know if they do that?

We are Diamond on Royal so we have reciprocal status which I would assume may help us with WiFi and drink add on. Anyone have a clue on this?

BTW, we are also Pearl status for casino. Don’t really gamble that much,  but do hit the casino at least a few times.
