I am scheduled to sail on the Nieuw Statendam tomorrow. At sail away I will be on the balcony of 6094. I will be wearing a blue tee shirt with a picture of the Blessed Mother

overlooking the Church in Medjugorje. I will be waving,

I'll be waving back virtually!

I believe waving is one of the most underrated activities on a cruise ship. I love (for some bizarre reason) to wave at anyone I can get to wave back on shore or on another cruise ship.

Enjoy you cruise and happy waving!

Wishing you a wonderful trip, Father.

We have friends now on the Westerdam and for the first 37 days of their 51 day cruise (Seattle to Sydney, South Pacific itinerary), there was no padre on board. Is this a function of the itinerary? We sail HAL because there has always been a priest on the cruise and we are hoping HAL's commitment is not wavering.

On a recent cruise the priest onboard told me that some priests refused to be vaccinated, so they were not eligible and that was causing the shortage.
