kitiara Posted January 14, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2023 It wil be our first time sailing with Princess Cruises (Regal March 19th). We need to disembark as soon as possible in Fort Lauderdale (walk-off) to catch a 11AM flight to Canada. What is our best option for a very quick breakfast on disembarkation day? Room Service ordered in advanced? The Buffet? Just grabbing some pastries at the International Cafe or Buffet to eat while waiting in line to disembark? We would like to be at FLL for 8:30 so if skipping breakfast altogether is necessary, we will! Any suggestion is welcome.
chrysalis Posted January 14, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2023 international cafe....easy and quick...if walking off, 8:30 is easy most of the time.
Rare Essiesmom Posted January 14, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 14, 2023 I am not sure there will be room service the last morning. Breakfast will start early, continental by 0600…. Agree about international cafe. EM
Sea Hag Posted January 14, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2023 There's no room service on the last morning. Recommend buffet if you're looking for fastest, but they move you through in the mdr very quickly that last morning. If you decide on mdr, you might want to order whatever is the featured dish. That comes out faster.

If you are in a suite I think you can get a limited menu breakfast room service…I recall having a breakfast delivered at like , 6 am when we were in a suite, but that was a few years ago.
Rare Coral Posted January 14, 2023 #6 Share Posted January 14, 2023 International cafe is the quickest IMO. No room service.
Rare Rick&Jeannie Posted January 14, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 14, 2023 DW never eats breakfast on a travel day. I will usually go to the buffet for a quick/light breakfast to tide us over until we can get to the airport. Depending on how long our wait is we might get something while waiting. Rare dides Posted January 14, 2023 #8 Share Posted January 14, 2023 (edited) I had a rare (for me) diabetic hypo at 5:30am on embarkation morning and was able to order something using OceanNow to our cabin at 6am! Quite limited on breakfast items though 😀 Backup was to wake up my other half, get him to throw some clothes on and go along to the International Cafe but they saved the day. Lesson learnt !
candy4040 Posted January 14, 2023 #10 Share Posted January 14, 2023 Take a cab from ship to Panera (only about a 1/2 mile from port.) Have it wait and get it to go. Buy your coffee after you get through security.
Maverick! Posted January 14, 2023 #11 Share Posted January 14, 2023 The Buffet opens at 6AM and a hearty breakfast can be had comfortably within 10-20 mins depending how quickly you eat 🙂 in time to disembark by 7AM.
Mike07 Posted January 14, 2023 #12 Share Posted January 14, 2023 I want to say the full buffet will open a tad earlier than normal. E.g. 5:00 or 5:30 AM The international cafe is open 24hours a day. The MDR will also be open, but likely too slow for your needs. That being said, the port is right by the airport... about a ten minute drive. I don't think you'll have too many problems with an 11 AM flight.

It was not offered on Emerald Princess in November.
EconDoc Posted January 14, 2023 #16 Share Posted January 14, 2023 On Emerald in December, no room service. Buffet opened at 5:30am and MDR at 6:00am. IC 24 hours a day. Plenty of options to eat before disembarking even if you get off around 7am.
Rare cr8tiv1 Posted January 14, 2023 #17 Share Posted January 14, 2023 Order room service the day before (boxed cereal/banana/yogurt) or get something from IC the morning before.

Rare roxievegas Posted January 14, 2023 #19 Share Posted January 14, 2023 Just got off the Discovery this morning. MDR was open at 6:30 for breakfast. Then go back to room to brush teeth, grab your stuff and get off the ship

Rare azbirdmom Posted January 16, 2023 #21 Share Posted January 16, 2023 You will have time to do any of the dining options and easily make it to the ship. We ate breakfast in Sabatini's (suite breakfast) the last morning and were off the Enchanted at 7:30 AM last month. We took a taxi to the airport and were through TSA before 8 AM. That early there are no crowds. So you should be able to relax and eat whatever you want the last day.
Rare cruisequeen4ever Posted January 16, 2023 #22 Share Posted January 16, 2023 The International Cafe would be the absolute quickest to grab coffee and a pastry, but you can make the buffet quick, too, if you want eggs.
BJGoCougs Posted January 18, 2023 #23 Share Posted January 18, 2023 If you wanted to take your time, what is the latest folks have disembarked? Did you eat a nice relaxed breakfast at MDR? Did you hang out at the International Cafe, or somewhere else?
worldtraveller Posted January 21, 2023 #24 Share Posted January 21, 2023 On our last cruise (disembarked early January) the latest time to get off was 9:30 but they called us about 9:15. And yes one of the dining rooms was open for a relaxed breakfast with the full normal menu available. We got done too early so waited the rest of the time in our assigned lounge.
