Gosh Roy, I've been praying for you all day! I haven't had such a connection to folks I have not met, but you are an exception! Please take care! Xx

Roy, you may want them to admit you as an inpatient. Hospitals don't like to do this solely for observation, where you may not need treatment and aren't expected to be there two nights, but it can affect the insurance coverage.

https://www.medicare.gov/what-medicare-covers/what-part-a-covers/inpatient-or-outpatient-hospital-status

I was worried about this 2 years ago when I went to the ER. They kept me overnight in an "observation unit" so I could get a test the next day. I held my breath, but never got the big bill I could have potentially gotten.

Dinner is soon but I wanted to show you all a photo of Elliott Rose.  My niece (her Grandma) sent me some updates today.  Videos too of Ellie babbling trying to learn our English language.  Such a cutie pie!  She's already lifting weights I see.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVKJ5wq6rUrEo63O2GJHyZeBaAUrgnwgvQnZ_1RWb7NZPA?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1674926456

Ellie's Grandma is moving 20 or 30 miles closer to the little family March 1 so she can spend as much time as possible with them.

DGS Ren is starting up soccer after a brief off season break.  Today they traveled to Columbus, Ohio and played a highly ranked team one year older than he is.  Ren scored the tying goal (3-3)  The opposite team hasn't lost or tied in a year so this was a very good result for Ren's team.

Oh, she is so cute! And congrats to Ren's team. I could try to help with the lists, but I tend to not get on to post until late morning.

Roy

I'm glad you're in your room. I hear some horror stories of people being in the ER for many hours or overnight. Have a good night's sleep if you can!

I'm working on a list already, so up to you. If yours is first, then I'll not post one.

Okay.  If I post one and you see I've missed something important you can add items later in the morning when you post.  You are excellent at keeping track of all our news!

@kochleffel I say pack light since you have so many transfers. Just plan on one day sending out laundry, it’s a wonderful thing to have someone else do it for you.

About the observation vs inpatient thing. Back when I was a surgery scheduler and the doctor had to admit someone it was always observation for the first 23 hours, then the doctor could request them to be an inpatient. It was my understanding that it was cheaper for the hospital, not necessarily the patient. The doctors didn’t like it, more keeping track for them to make sure it was documented why the patient had to stay longer. Things may have changed since then though (but probably not).

Sandi @StLouisCruisers, what an adorable picture of little Ellie!  I think you and Vanessa @JazzyV will do a fantastic job with the lists and thank you both for offering to do them for Roy.

Roy @rafinmd, thank you so much for keeping us posted about yourself. I’m sorry you’ve had so much pain and hopefully the meds will start helping.

Jacqui @kazu (and not kazoo 😉), wow you have been through so much and in such a short time. I know pins are difficult especially if they are temporary ones. The body treats them like a foreign body and try to get rid of them. Craig has had several surgeries with pins for hammer toes due to an old motorcycle accident. Take care girl!

Joy @Seasick Sailor, ouch on your fall and scraped knee. What did you use to wash your luggage?

I realized a while ago we didn't have Care or Celebration lists posted today.  Of course we all know who we need to pray for, and cheer on our cruisers, but if anyone wants to volunteer setting one up for tomorrow, that's fine.  Or I could attempt it.  We don't often think about how much work it is for Roy to make notes and update the list each day.  Any thoughts or preferences?

Sandi, Elliott Rose is another cutie.  Looking at those big, beautiful eyes, I think she will follow in Camilla's footsteps and be a charmer.  Congratulations to Ren and his team.

I'm afraid I don't have any before pictures.  It was too awful for pictures.

I second this suggestion.  Observation leaves you with a big out of pocket bill.  I can see observation for a few hours, but if you need to keep someone overnight and treat them, that isn't observation.

I'll look forward to the after pictures.

Roy, I'm glad you are in a room.  Get some rest, and don't try to go home before the doctors say you are ready.

Sandi and Vanessa, between the two of you, you will do a great job keeping the care and celebration lists up to date.  This is what is so great about the Daily.  Someone(s) always step up to fill a void and keep this thread going.

Good morning friends!  Things are getting started off in a completely different way than I thought they would.  After reading last night's posts on the Friday Daily I discovered Roy had taken a tumble yesterday.  Since he hasn't appeared here and hadn't posted yet, I am alarmed and worried about him.  We definitely need to add him to the Care list! 🙏

I will agree we all need data privacy.  There are so many hackers out there trying to steal our information.  I don't really care about kazoos that much.  If you can have fun at work, go for it.  The quote is funny.  I'm sure we'll discover the brocolli cauliflower casserole is good for us as we get our veggie requirements in for the day.  The gin and tonic sounds like it will be a winner on the Daily, and I probably wouldn't like the red wine.  Sorry!  The port of Buenos Aires is a big one and has only been listed here once before, Aug. 10, 2022.  I'll add the link to then so you can all get your photos and post them here.  It's an exciting city with lots to see and do there.

Prayers for all our Daily people in need (including Roy) and Cheers to the celebrants on a cruise or otherwise enjoying happy events.  We may get out of the house today to get some items we are in need of.  Nothing exciting.  Hoping all have a great day!

We went first to Buenos Aires in 2012 on Star Princess and took a bus tour of the city.  Next in 2015 on Ruby Princess and my Shutterfly photo book says we walked around starting in the Retiro neighborhood. I believe there was a shuttle that dropped us off so that helped a lot.  Some of these docks are far from the exciting sights!  Our third time was disembarkation from the Seabourn Quest after our Antarctica and South Georgia Island cruise.  We took a tour to use up time so we wouldn't have to sit at the Buenos Aires airport, which is not a fun place to spend the day.  I'll show some photos from that visit.  We also went there in January 2020 on Coral Princess where we also disembarked after our Antarctica cruise but that day was rainy so not as much fun to tour.

Here we go!  Arriving in Buenos Aires and sad to disembark the Quest.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVJU918aOJWXlhR-cuYbAaab?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1484534759

I also vote pack light.  Our last cruise was out of our own city, so no flights — sure, pack the kitchen sink.  But then we get home, and there’s all the crushed clothes to wash or send out,.  Just a big chore.  Vacation is vacation. Who needs it?
Our next cruise, we have an early flight  on disembarkation.  I’m packing light  as a feather, carrying off my own luggage, and no mess when we get home.

Can you tell this has been on my mind? Lol

Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily and to @StLouisCruisers Sandi for starting us up.

Data privacy is so important these days; I've been involved in several company data breaches and have credit monitoring. Now retired, but I sometimes had fun at work. I've never played a kazoo. Funny quote. The meal sounds good. Pass on the drink and yes to the wine.

I was in Buenos Aires on my SA/Antarctica cruise.

It's 42F and partly sunny here, so a nice day. It seems if it's not one thing, it's another with me. As I was going to bed early, when I looked in the mirror to put my bedtime eyedrops in, I noticed my right eye was completely red. I'd had a really big subconjunctival hemorrhage sometime earlier. No pain, but it looks awful. It's going to take a while to resolve, but looks a little better this AM. And so far my stomach is ok today.

@rafinmd Oh no on needing to go to the hospital! Prayers for your health. We are worried about you.

@grapau27 That's a hearty looking breakfast.

@StLouisCruisers Thanks for starting us today, and your photos.

@mamaofami I'm glad you found your glasses; now you'll have a spare pair.

@Seasick Sailor Sorry to hear you fell also; be careful! I'm curious, what do you spray your suitcases with? I bought Permethrin once to use.

@kazu I'm glad you called the Bone Clinic about the pain; this is an unending saga at this point. I hope the stronger pain meds help for now.

@marshhawk Wow, your previous doctor was really unethical with putting DH's info in your file.

@smitty34877 Thanks for the photo of Miss Camilla!

Prayers for those in need (including Roy) and Cheers for those with something to Celebrate.

Thanks to all that told me my doctor was Dr. Awful, he apparently kept being a jerk after he refused to treat me, like putting DH's medical records in my record.  He is the doctor for a major sports team in Atlanta, guess he kind of forgot who his real patients were.  And I think he has a lot of pull in that particular office, regardless that he is a dweeb.  When the new doc said, I didn't have an adrenal gland tumor but a cyst in my chest, (this is what he had said) I stopped her right there, and told her I had a full CT scan one month ago because  my vascular doctor could not believe how stupid my doctor had been, and during the scan, the woman operating the machine said, well, you have an adrenal gland tumor, we see that right away.
So the new doc is contacting my vascular doctor. to get the results from him before I talk to him.  And maybe she will start believing me that Dr Awful is Dr Awful.  I cant believe that after I asked her why she asked me if I was still drinking, and I told her I hadn't had a drink in 32 years, she asked me for my sobriety date.  Really?  All that glitters is not gold.  Broken glass glitters.....

I have struggled with low sodium levels myself and still don’t know why. But I did find out that it is not necessarily anything to do with your salt intake. IIRC it can happen when you over hydrate.

I have had bouts with low sodium as well.  It wasn't real low, just a few points below the bottom limit.  One thing I noticed was that when my thyroid was behaving, my sodium was low.  When my thyroid was misbehaving, my sodium was normal.
