Yes, of course if you don’t have a fcd it makes sense.  I just hope people aren’t booking multiple cruises that they have no intention of going on.  Not speaking of you.

Of course they are.  My sister can be the worst offender.  This does work in favor of the last minute bargain hunters as so many will drop out on final payment day and not a day early.  They probably won’t even call back to cancel.   This is not a good business plan.  Businesses should never do anything that lets customers know there will be big discounts for the patient

What bothers me so much about this $1 sale is they did not allow it when they had the $25 deposit for the South Pacific yet now they do for the $1pp.

I suspect with all of these cheap deposits which will not result in occupants that we may cancel and rebook that same cruise at a last minute discounted rate.

Lol. Live & learn!  Always good to have an idea especially if you don’t have any of the future deposits left like me.  I’ll be buying more in November.

I went ahead and booked for $1. This is my first Holland America cruise so I didn't have any credits to use. I have been planning to book anyway, so why not do it for $1 deposit. Also got the have it all package with the elite beverage package, premium wifi and crew appreciation. I'm pleased.

Welcome to HAL!!

I was happy I had the one, but I did spend a while browsing 2024 Alaska/Pacific Coast sequences, trying to determine if there would be one "built" but not published on line for 2025. I did not find the one(s) I wanted.

I did call my PCC back to see if she could "see" the Greenland-Iceland R/T Boston cruise we have in July 2024, for 2025. Even though it's not on the website -- like some AK cruises that people are saying their PCCs are booking. She could not, and that is where I learned the term "built" for a cruise that is finalized but not published.

HAL constantly places these sales on Z number of cruises & some do not qualify  , Like the Jan 2025 19 night Hawaii , cruise . .so i wasted my time & got aggravated as well with reps from the Phillipines who speak a form of english which i could not understand aa all

ao we decided to do a b2b 24 fay cruise which is Mexico & Hawaii  early /Jan 2025 , HAL wants huge deposits so we will play their game by diverting a lot paid on a October 2024 cruise already & use some of that cash for this new  cruise  deposit . ,I will definitely not add another $2400 on top of over $10000 we already have paid out

Why not buy future cruise deposits when you are on the ship?  You don’t need to worry about putting down a large credit then and those dollar deals become of very little value.

I booked online a r/t Japan Oct 2024, with $2,00 deposit.  My PCC is out until next week.  I did add CO and then upgraded my cabin from VH to VA. So I paid for the OC, but my deposit was still low, and yes don’t have any thoughts of canceling unless We have a medical issue.

I just learned about Club Orange when I booked a cruise last month.  On Pinnacle ships there is a separate restaurant with an added entree, priority boarding and tender, priority lines on the ship, and the best perk is upgrade from the lowest category u book to the best cabin in that category. My PCC was able to book it with no problem. He’s not in until next week so I had to call to get it added. If you want the cabin upgrade u need to pay for it at that time.

What is the cost for CO?

It depends on the length of ur cruise.. 7 day cost was $20.00 pp per day, 14 day was $15.00pp per day.  We are sailing on casino rates, so decided just to book thru HAL, since the online agency I use charge a cancel fee, which can be use for another cruise.  I didn’t want the hassle as this cruise is not  until over a year from now.

We booked a Europe cruise for September 2024 with this promo and got a midship balcony for a pretty good price. Worse case scenario, if we cancel, we lose a whole $2.

Kudos to you for sure....as it was an offered deal BUT I personally dont like seeing these promotions because it does let people RESERVE a room for nothing.....and as long as until final payment...sucks as it holds up rooms others truely may be interested in.  Happy cruise EVERYONE

It’s $25 for cruises 13 days in or less, or $15 otherwise.  Here is info about it

Just called today and was quoted over 1800$ for 14 days club orange!  And I had read this online too.   Another conundrum

Someone must have started drinking early to come up with that number.  I know our dollar is worth squat but that’s just not right.

I would call again.  I paid $420 for 2, for my 14 day cruise. I think some reservationist don't have a clue. Can’t wait for my PCC to return.
