Good morning friends!  Hoping for a warm up sooner than later.  Another 32 degree morning but it will be warmer than yesterday with a high of 64 and once again sunny skies.  Yesterday was beautiful with no clouds at all.🌞

Thanks Rich @richwmn for today's Fleet Report and Daily.  Interesting days today.  I guess even a dollar given to someone could help them out somehow.  Nice celebration for Dominicans.  Hope those who like stout are happy.  I'm not getting the quote.  Oh no on the boiled fish!  I'm sure the Paradise Punch will be enjoyed  but I will pass on the red wine again.🍷  Nice days in history celebrating our country's beginnings and organizing help signals.  Thanks to Debbie @dfish, Dixie @summer slope, and Ann @cat shepard for the food and drink reports

.

Prayers for our friends here on the Care list.  Wishing better days for Tana, a "no broken bone" X-ray for Terri's @Cruzin Terri Jim, continued improvement for Baby Murphy, and relief from leg pain for Vanessa @JazzyV.  Prayers for my family and friends especially DB, and for all at war in Israel and Ukraine and the hostages returned safely.  In better news, happiness for all celebrating and cruising.  There's so many of us away on ships.  Hoping you all have smooth seas and enjoy being pampered.  Thanks to Vanessa @JazzyV for the C&C list keeping!🤗

Our destination today is Liverpool, England.  It was the port on April 16, 2021 and January 28, 2022.  I found links to both dates and will include them below.  I've been there twice before and really enjoyed it.  Unfortunately I will have to find the photos since mine disappear from very old posts.  Back later with pictures.

Hoping everyone has a good Friday and a great weekend!  Stay safe and stay well!

Good morning dailyites as we are arriving in Dominica.

We had an interesting evening yesterday.

Dinner in Lido was very good.  We both had pork chops and mashed potatoes.

As we set down to eat, I noticed the ship had stopped. We left port a few minutes before 5 and it was now 5:30. After dinner,  we went to our usual spot for smokes and we still were still just idling.  Finally around 6:45, the ship started moving again. I will ask CJ if she knew what happened as no announcement was ever made.

We have no plans today other than me tagging along while my sister and wife shop. Today is Dominica's independence day, so I expect most shops will be closed.

I hope everyone here has a great day and I will check in later.

Good morning.  Thanks for the Report.

Cool and windy here today.  We should get to 11°C (52°F) this afternoon.  Our snow has melted and there isn't any snow in the forecast for the next week (at least).

Hooray for Dominican Independence Day.  Give a dollar?  I'll donate a little more than that to a few charities today.  I'm not a fan of stout but hubby enjoys a Guinness once in a while.

I'll pass on the meal but hope the drink and wine are tasty.

Prayers for our world.

I tried to learn Morse Code years ago when I got my amateur radio operator's licence.

We were in Liverpool in June on the Zuiderdam.   Here's a couple of pictures.

Thank you Rich, thank you Debbie, thank you Vanessa, thank you Ann, and thank you Dixie for all your work. And thank you everyone for being here

With all of the issues with our phones, I didn't pay attention to yesterday's "Destination." Sue and I are scheduled to be in Kochi City aboard the Noordam on April 16, 2025. Thank you to all that posted photos yesterday.

Back to the phone center store this morning to finish the upload from our old phones. I'm not expecting a big problem.

Stay Safe, and prayers for those in need.

Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann.  I'll salute Dominican Independence, pass on the stout   Interesting quote by McArthur.  I'll give someone a dollar ff needed.

Great day for emergency communications.  I have not been to Liverpool.

I'll pass on the meal.  My alternative is Honey Pineapple, Rack of Lamb with Cannellinni Beans, and Black Forest Cake as served on MS Prinsendam November 3, 2017:

Liverpool, England is our port today.  Below is my report on times spent there in April 2015 on Royal Princess and June 2017 on Prinsendam.

The first time I took a Beatles tour with my friends who only use ship's tours.  That was quite fun since I was a big Beatles fan back in the 60's.  Then after the tour DH met me at the dock and lovely cruising friends from a 2014 cruise who live in Manchester came to Liverpool to meet up with us.  We went to a pub for a drink and some lunch, plus a nice walkabout to chat.  That was wonderful!

Outside the Beatles museum.

A couple of the thousands of displays inside

My favorite Beatle

00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhG

00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhG

Then we went to the Cavern Club where the early Beatles played.

00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhG

Someone was there playing music and singing.

00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhG

You could order a pint if you wished.

00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhG

A statue in the alley outside the Club.

00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhG

We also went to Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields.

00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhG

00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhG

Then time for lunch with our Manchester friends.

00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhG

We went to see a statue of Queen Victoria and I got bombed by a pigeon.  A little cleanup was required.

Photo taken from the Royal Princess

00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhG

Our friends stayed to watch us depart.  They are on the bench in this photo.

00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhG

They gave us a great send off, and we gave them the Love Boat toots from the Royal Princess

00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhG

We very much enjoyed both our visits to Liverpool.  On the second visit on the Prinsendam,  our next door cabin neighbor was arrested and removed from the ship for stealing scratch off cards from the Casino.  We were actually in that white tent area using wi-fi when he was escorted off.

 00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhG

I highly recommend Liverpool as a cruise stop if you get the opportunity to book it.

Thank you for today’s FR & D, Rich!  Though the temp is the same as yesterday morning, without the strong wind it felt much warmer. And the planets and stars are back. We might have some showers today.

Vanessa, praying that today’s meeting sets you down the path to pain relief. Thank you for all you do to keep up with all of us.

Gym, Bindi walks, chores, wine & snacks at a neighbor’s.

Anyone else have problems with packages traveling far and wide before finally finding their way back to your front door?

DH placed an order last Friday for over the counter items from our health insurance for the last quarter of 2023.  Usually we get them within 3 days.  This time the package label took until Monday the 30th to be made.  Come to find out the OTC items were starting their journey to our door from a town only 10 miles away from our home!  However FedEx decided once the items were picked up in that close-by town they had to go to Atlanta to be processed.  This is where their journey took a zig zag.  Atlanta FedEx sent them to Columbia, South Carolina.  Then Columbia sent them to Concord, North Carolina!  They are now 2 states away and headed the wrong way!  That is when we started tracking them.  Suddenly they made a U turn and started heading back south.  The package arrived in Atlanta last night where they then put it on a truck and drove it past our location to Macon which is south of us.  That is the location that FedEx thinks should be delivering our packages nowadays so they often go up and down I-75 for a day or so instead of someone just dropping them off at our door.  Finally today Macon will deliver our package!  We hope!

Something that started out just 10 miles away shouldn't have to travel hundreds of miles in the wrong direction before someone reads the zip code and routes it properly.  Are they all nuts??  Bah humbug to FedEx!  Mail your Christmas gifts extra early folks.

Good morning,

Just a short check in while I am waiting for Jim to get ready.  He has a 8:30 appointment with the Dermatologist.  It is literally across the road.  Then we will come back and have breakfast and then go to the Urgent Care to get the knee checked out.

Please pray there are no broken bones.

Will post when we return from the UC.

Later.

Sandi @StLouisCruisers.

Excellent photos of Liverpool.

We had a 3 night hotel stay August 19-22 2020 in Liverpool when masks were compulsory and saw all of the sights you have shown.

I looked for a few different photos.

We got a Ferry Across The Mersey as in Gerry and the Pacemakers song which was close to the cruise terminal.

Thank you Rich for today's daily reports.

I had a haircut this morning then a coffee overlooking the sea so I'm a little late posting.

Guinness is the most popular Stout.

I hope everyone is safe and well and prayers 🙏 for those who need them.

Good morning all. Thanks to everyone for their well wishes for my cataract surgery yesterday. It went well. I was home by 2 pm and watching tv shortly thereafter. I am amazed at how well I can see right out of the gate. Now just to keep my hands away from my eyes and water out of my eyes for six weeks. I only need to do drops for one week as I got injections in both eyes to take care of the normally three other weeks. Thanks @JazzyVfor putting me on the cares list.

off for post op checkup shortly and then taking it easy for the rest of the day and weekend.

Unbelievable Terri!  No wonder they lose so much money.  It's because they are so inefficient.  Just the fuel they use is out of sight, but think of all the people involved in handling your packages.  Then they raise prices.

Nice, Graham!  Thank you for the photo of Paul's boyhood home.  We probably saw it on the bus ride but didn't have time to get a photo.  They played Beatles songs while we rode around to the various locations.  Good times!

Eva @superoma I'm happy to hear your surgery went well and you can see better already.  Take it easy and heal completely.  Thanks for the update.

I have the same issue with online vendors that use a third-party delivery service. Recently I bought something online that originated in PA, just up the coast from us. I tracked it received by the 3rd party shipper to sit for a few days then as it went to west to IL, sat for a few days, then back to PA. There it sat for four days until sent to MD. A few days later is shipped to the next town over to once again sit. After that to the USPS Regional facility in Richmond, VA. Then finally transferred to our local post office and carrier for final delivery the next day.

This seems to be shades of wrecking the post office by the same postmaster installed by the last administration. It use to be mail it - and two days later you have it compared to now where it bounces around for over two weeks. It is a problem when I can have a package delivered (postage free! and not expedited) to my door in four days - from Japan which is half way around the world!

I have packages delivered regularly. For the Post Office, it is not unusual for packages to bounce between several Atlanta branches, sometimes the same one several times, before heading to Athens. I have had both UPS and FedEx ground send packages all over the place.

thanks for our TGIF Daily, Rich.

and thanks to Vanessa, Ann, Debbie & Dixie.

I’ll happily celebrate Dominica’s Independence Day and offered more than a dollar to a friend yesterday (turned down).  I am sure lots will be celebrating Stout day.

I like the MacArthur quote.  Not sure about boiled fish but I will wait for Debbie’s recipes before I say no 😉

IMG_1136.jpeg.3ff2dc0a58b22dc991d6d1fd34da5e50.jpeg

It’s a real TGIF for me, today.  No appointments - yippee!  I’m not used to running myself ragged 4 days in a row.  My house is calling for me to catch up 😂  Ivan will be in shock without a Kong today but I suspect he will be glad that Mum is home 😉 😂

IMG_1137.thumb.jpeg.fc6d76470cf391d29d25cab156db6e60.jpeg

I’m not sure where to start but I think 1st on the agenda will be gathering all of the winter coats for giving away to those who need them.  Jose really had some nice ones (big surprise).  I didn’t get it done last year - the clothes were about all I could handle & there’s no point in giving away winter stuff in spring or summer so hopefully they will help those that need them this year 🤞

IMG_1189.jpeg.050f2831967f01090b56a0b7fd111342.jpeg

I hope it warms up - I’d like to tackle some of the hostas but I’m not freezing my tail off to do it!

Prayers for those on the Care list, those suffering losses, health problems, worries & those that need them 🙏. Cheers to those celebrating & cruising 🥂

Good Morning Everyone, thanks for today’s daily fleet report.  Yesterday we had a hard freeze so this weekend we will need to put away the outside planters.  Leaf raking will also be a weekend chore.  I’ll pass on today’s meal suggestion Instead we will have some leftover chicken soup.  @StLouisCruisers in our area FedEx is notorious for delivering packages to the wrong address.  I see lots of posts with does anyone know ….. I have their package.  Yesterday I had one meeting booked, that increased rather quickly.  Today I had nothing booked and one appeared overnight.  Happy to see the Rotterdam arrive this morning, we sail on her 12/15.  I hope everyone has a good day today.
