Thank you to all who expresssed concern about my symptons this morning. My medication has remained the same for over 2 months so I doubt that it is medication related. If it happens again I think I will call 911 to go to E.R. as I certainly would not be able to drive to a doctor's office.

Good afternoon from another rainy day.  The forecast for the eclipse looks a bit more promising now...the clouds are supposed to clear.  Haven't been to the port, but our church body has a thriving mission there.  If we did go there, I think we'd visit the church.  I like potato salad, but usually buy it.  I like the mayo type, not the German style.  I'll celebrate Beer day!  Cheers! 🍻

Dear GD and all of the crew did a wonderful job with Willy Wonka Jr. yesterday.

Bon Voyage to those  sailing today!  I hope it's a good day for those trying to see the eclipse tomorrow.

@StLouisCruisersWhen are the twins due?  Prayers for them!

@grapau27Your pictures look great!

@RedneckBobI'd like to know how you can have such willpower with all of the good food and drink around you!!!

Welcome back to those on the 3 month cruise!

Have a great evening, K

It is not hard until you know the outcome if you don’t have the willpower!

@Haljo1935yikes on the prices!  What's the 0.99 surcharge for?  For the privilege of buying their stuff???

It really is. My understanding is it started post-Covid as a way to deal w/rapidly fluctuating prices and to cover some of the costs associated w/workers and was meant to be temporary.

Seems like a .99 price increase disguised as a surcharge.

That $4.95 airport water looks like a bargain now, doesn't it?😉

Made it home to a very windy and chilly Durango this afternoon. I do feel sometimes that I am still on the ship. The plane trip San Diego to Phoenix to Durango was easy except for having to be a the airport for a 6:20 morning departure. It may take a day or so for my body to realize that we are back on dry land. I will pick up the dogs at the kennel tomorrow morning and then tackle a very dusty and disorganized house. And taxes. Going to be a busy week. No one is going to cook for me or straighten my room.

That sounds like a smart idea.  Something was going on if it wasn't medication and that is more scary. Maybe you should call the office tomorrow anyways.

Good Sunday Evening Dailyites!  My day was filled with stuff, and I could not get on the computer, as DH was arguing with it. I am not sure who won. but I stopped in to read when I could.

@lazey1 just waking up will increase blood pressure, and blood sugars too, but IF that happens again, with the dizzy, the nausea, dial 911 immediately and have them put you in an ambulance and drive you to the hospital.

I have been to the port, but I have to admit it was when DH was having one of his bad days (after his brain injury) and while I made him traipse around in ancient Mayan ruins the day before, neither of us felt like doing anything.  I had planned to visit the bird aviary in the port, it was closed. The pool was full of kids, we didnt get in. We did shop, and when we got home realized that half of what we had purchased was never bagged up. And never made it home.  So I am sure if we had done an excursion there,  I would have been more impressed.  That's on me.  I would love to go back. DH does have 2 T-shirts.  One was mine, but because i am a slob when I eat, white is not my color. So he ended up with 2.

Watched the F1 race when we got up, then went out for lunch (DH did not want leftover spaghetti again) grabbed some cat food at the store, and the ingredients to make Queso Chicken Casserole for later in the week.

My dietician infomed me years ago that the carbs change in taters if they are cooked and then chilled, and she gave me permission to have potato salad once in a while.  So tonight we had ham, corn on the cob and potato salad for dinner.  Tomorrow will be steak and leftover potato salad. I use the red skin taters and leave the skin on, as someone once told me the skin is the healthy part.

@grapau27When you post one good looking meal, I'm thinking you are out with Pauline.  Two in a row, ?  Means you have left town for a couple of days.  More than that? You are cruising!

Oh do call them, Jane, and don't hesitate.  My dad was in congestive heart failure for many years.  He was extremely proactive about getting help if something seemed "off."  In fact it used to annoy my mom because she had health problems of her own and thought he was too fussy.  But you really can't be too fussy.  There are lots of tools to keep the ticker going, but they have to know you need them.

Sorry if I'm too vehement on this point, but we lived through it.  My dad was amazing.

Best wishes to you, Jane.

Good evening.  It was a long amd busy day, but the weather was good.  There was a light breeze, and sun with high thin clouds.  Since it seemed to be the only good day weather wise,  I spent  most of the day working in the yard.  I got the weeds in the flower beds pulled along with the worst ones in the grass.  Then, I got the grass trimmed and mowed.  I was pleasantly surprised that there was quite a bit of good grass under the weeds.  I didn't have time or the energy to spray the heavy duty weed killer or spread the fertilizer.  I did get Roundup sprayed on the weeds that weren't in the grass, and the marigolds planted.  By then it was time to put everything away.

I will be sore tomorrow, but Advil, Apercreme, and wine helped with the soreness tonight.  A good dinner of a great ribeye which we shared with baked potato, salad and wine helped too.  DH has always coojed good steaks, but since he got an infared grill, the steaks beat anything you can order out.

Good morning,

The sun is out but rain is in the forecast. I've been missing in action only because it's been busy and I've been in a bit of a funk which is unusual for me. I'll be fine - just have to work through things.

Thursday a friend and I went to BC to visit my 97.5 year old mother. We were on the go the whole time! We went to a local mall so she could get her lottery tickets then to Northern Reflections where Mom got a pair of black jeans for me for my birthday. We went to Cob's bakery for scones (I have a triple chocolate one and a cinnamon one in the freezer to indulge in later). For lunch we went to White Spot for the shrimp sandwich and then my friend wanted to do IKEA. I've never been and it was interesting but not convinced I'd go again. My DM walked the whole thing with her walker, knew she had to use the restroom as we walked in and had her route planned! We got to her place at 11:20 and left at 5:00 getting home at 7:15 so a long day.

Friday I got my second Shingles vaccine and the newest Covid booster so I have a sore left arm. Yesterday was visiting with a friend for a short time. I know why I'm in a funk so no worries. Just teary due to upcoming birthday/anniversary. Once I get over that I'll be fine.

Have a great Sunday! My plan is to be home, watch the ships sail away, and be lazy!

@kazu I hope you're feeling better soon. Hang in there!

Karen

Karen, with an upcoming birthday and wedding anniversary a funk is understandable.  You are a strong woman, and you will overcome the funk.  Your DM sounds like a strong woman too.

There was an interesting article in the Los Angeles Times, the other day, regarding beavers.  It seems that aerial photographs of recent burn areas found a number of green "oases" in the middle of larger areas that were totally ravaged by fire.  You guessed it--ponds made by beavers.  It seems that not only do beavers create ponds by constructing dams, they also dig tunnels under and around these ponds.  Water seeps into these tunnels, and, so the area around the pond becomes quite damp and is able to resist the flames of a brush fire,

Thanks for the information.  It is good to know.

I would love to have some of that potato salad if only it could be prepared without salt and low sodium mayo. Pass on the drink and would like the wine.

I was at Costa Maya 1 time, took a HAL expedition to visit the ruins of Tulum, the most beautiful Mayan Capitol as the ocean is it's background.

A strange day for me so far; I woke up about 15 minutes before my alarm feeling very dizzy, very weak and slightly nauseous. Almost fell as I staggered into the bathroom. After taking my morning meds I made my way into the kitchen by holding onto the walls, fed my cats and had a cup of coffee. Blood pressure was 161/87, high but not alarming for me. After sitting for an hour or so the dizzyness slowly went away. I was afraid to try driving so I watched a live feed for church and now the nausea has gone away. Still feeling somewhat weak but able to walk unsupported. I have an appointment at Banner University Hospital Interventional Cardiology department on Wed. so I will be sure to tell the Dr. about this.

@Sharon in AZ thank you for the video of the rocket launch. Gives a new perspective of how fast they travel.

@grapau27I swear you are making me gain weight just looking at your food porn.

@aliaschiefThank you for posting the beautiful photos of Kuala Lumpur, also the rest of your photos of your world cruise. You are a gifted photographer.

Prayers for those who are in need and hurrahs for those who are not in need.

Jane

Jane, I hope this was a one off.  If it happens again, please call 911.  Don't take any unnecessary changesnwith your health.

Oops, I forgot the pictures - I was wrapped up in doing the math for the $63 water, lol.

Six Flags original name was for the 6 flags that have flown over TX; there was a themed section in the park for each of the flags. One of each flag flew at the entrance - today, I noticed there are still 6 flags, but they are all USA. You can see 3 of the 6 in this photo along with one of the "guitars."

A couple more of the guitars - they're camouflaging speakers.

My fried is a Spee fanatic. First place we went was the recently re-opened Cave.

One of the roller coasters is a landmark.

Fabulous weather, slight breeze,  blue skies w/a few wispy clouds. It was a great day for a trip down memory lane.

Fingers crossed 🤞 tomorrow is this nice for the eclipse, but that's not what is forecast.

In 1961, they broke ground for the original Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington.  As Elizabeth @Haljo1935 said, each section represented on of the six countries whose flags have flown over Texas.  They were France, Spain, Mexico, the Republic of Texas, the United States and the Confederate States of America.    I remember going to Six Flags more than once when I was in high school.  As more Six Flags parks opened, the one in Arrington dropped the Over Texas from there name.

Am very late to post today, but thank you @kazu for posting the HAL Fleet locations and the daily.  thanks to Roy @rafinmd for the maps.

@kazu  hope you will be feeling a lot better very soon.

Welcome home to the Dailyites returning from the beautiful Volendam.

It was quite obvious that @grapau27 was away from home on a  cruise..

@aliaschief  thanks for sharing your super photos.

We have been out to lunch today, at a restaurant where it's necesary to pre book a table.  DH had a dozen raw oysters to celebrate Oyster Season.

Our clocks turned back 1 hour Saturday night.   Autumn is here.
